The Thirty-second Day: 23 April 2020 (138,078 confirmed infected, 18,738 died, in total)

"I think the guidance that we're expecting to hear is that the wearing of face masks is a voluntary activity not mandated and it certainly makes a lot of sense to focus limited resources that we have at the moment on those who have greatest need and that's the health professionals." – Martin Marshall

I do not want to discuss any more about “whether a face mask shall be worn”. Medical experts and government officials in the UK are frank enough to admit that they have a concern that if the general public begins to wear face masks or use other PPE, the supplies to NHS will become more difficult to secure.

We visited Heathrow Airport again today. Airlines and airport staff are using face masks, gowns, goggles and plastic protectors now. So are some passengers. An aircraft cabin is a place never better for the virus to spread. Can these PPE really create a “safe zone” onboard?

Today is St. George’s Day, the day to remember the patron of England. May he save this land and people living (or being trapped) on it.
