Chapter 3; Rude boys

W I N T E R

"Devy, did you see what they did to that poor boy? I'm sure they knew he wouldn't be able to pay and that's why they were so mean to him." I complained to Devon  who was sitting next to me and he kissed my forehead.

"You say that about everybody they humiliate, you should be used to it by now, I mean they do that to every one. Every joker." he explained with a smile.

"That is true but I'm gonna do what i always do." I replied him and took a big bite from my burger which started to look ravishing and well, tempting.

"Don't interfere Winter!" he warned but i kept taking big bites of my burger, while my eyes followed that boy.

The bell rung and it back to class. I carried my burger in my hand and my coke in my purse and walked to my class.

When the school was over, and everyone had already started leaving, Xander and Devon walked into the social studies classroom where they knew I'd be because i always stayed longer in school to study.

"I told you she'd be here!" Devon smirked and sat down next to me.

"Whatever, i should not have placed that bet with you. She is your girlfriend after all." Alex whinned and it made me laugh.

"So you have to come in a cheap taxi tomorrow and let everyone see you do it. "  Devon said and Alex groaned in defeat and left.

"Babe, how long will you be here for?" Devon asked me and my mind trailing off to the incident in the cafeteria.

"Not long." I replied, my eyes meeting his soft blue eyes.

His phone buzzed and he checked his iPhone X to see and he sighed.

"What happened Dev?" I asked him holding his face.

"Nothing important, just my sister telling me that my father wants me home immediately." he answered quickly and sighed.

He got up from his chair and kissed my cheek. "Bye" he said in his stressed tone. He always gets like this whenever it come to his dad, but he doesn't like to talk about it.

I bought out my phone and dailed home and it was answered by Cait, "Tell Walter to be on his way." I ordered and hung up.

It gets tempting to use an authoritative voice some times.

I packed up my books and kept them in my locker, and walked into the cafeteria and i saw that same boy. But he was cleaning.

Isn't that the janitor's job?

But the same incident occurred to me and i realized it must have been his punishment for not being able to pay. I walked confidently to him, my heels clucking on the floor.

"Here," i said handing out $2000 dollars but he just gave me a blank look and continued mopping and i repeated myself saying, "Are you not going to take it?"  He shook his head and left my hand sticking out.

I frowned and kept my money back along with my dignity intact because a nobody isn't going to ruin this day for me and i walked out and i heard my car honk and i walked outside and was greeted by Walter who was standing outside holding the door for me.

"In my locker are gifts, do bring them." I told him and sat in the car while he went and got the gifts given to me this morning. He arrived with them and we were off. We got to the mansion after some minutes and sighed as i got up from the car seat and took my purse and i approached my front door.

It was opened by our butler Steve, who greeted me with a smile, but i was tired and in no mood to smile. I walked into my palace making my way to my room. And grazing my hand on the polished railing of my stairs and saw my father leave his room looking worried but nobody cheers him up better than i do.

"Daddy!" I called excitedly, trying to hide the tiredness on my face.

"My princess," he smiled and opened his arms which i ran into, he hugged me so tight and made me feel safe and in my happy place.

Damn..i loved my father.

"How was school?" He asked raising my head to meet his eyes.

"Same as always, daddy. How was the office? I didn't see you at breakfast today." i replied and held my hand to my room and made me sit down on my study chair.

"You must be tired, but to answer your question, work was fine, i was just busy. But whenever I say I'm busy, I'm never too busy for you. You can come to my study whenever and I'll always have your time,OK?" He raised his brow at me.

"Okay!" i said hugging him and he kissed me on my forehead.

He walks to the door and before he leaves he looks at me, "We will have dinner soon, take a bath and come downstairs." he told me as he closed the door behind him.

I started taking off my clothes and i heard a knock on the door. "Who is it?" I asked trying to get my hand on my towel and wrapped myself in it. "It's cait, ma'am." the voice replied from outside the door.

"Come in." i replied and the knob turned show cait holding a few boxes.

"Are these all?" I ask her and she shook her head. "Do me a favor and start my bath, i did it this morning but it wasn't as nice as Sandy usually does." i admitted and she smiled and went into my bathroom.

I sat on my bed and decided to check out the gifts. I started loosing the wrapping of the gift. Cait came out if the bathroom.

"Leave it miss, let me do it for you." she said standing innocently around the corner.

"I can do it!" i tried to argue but top no avail.

"But if your mother sees you do this, I can lose my job here." she tried to explain and i agreed to let her help me.

The first box that was open had a gucci purse and in it a card that wrote, "Happy pre-birthday celebration Winter." Ii smiled and immediately told myself that I'd keep it.

The next box opened contained a pair of  heels and i shook my head, and gave the box to Cait, "Here you keep this." I said dryly and she took the gift with excitement clear in her black eyes.

The next box contained a full make up set from fenty beauty and few make up items from naked. I kept this box because it had fenty products.

The fourth bag contained an iPhone, iPhone X to be exact. I looked down at my phone and saw they were identical and i shook my head and handed it to cait, "You can also keep this." I told her.

"Really?! Oh my god thank you miss" she replied, elated.

At this point i got tired of seeing what were in the boxes, "Cait take the rest downstairs and share them amongst yourselves." i commanded.

She began carrying the boxes she was about to pick up a bag that seemed familiar, the bag Macy gave me and i told her to leave that and to take the rest. She obeyed and left my room.

I read the card taped to the body of the bag and it said, "happy pre birthday celebration to the best president ever." and that was all it took to make me smile. I opened the bag and it was filled with chocolates and a medium sized teddy bear.

I told her i was restricted to eating only snickers but she thought it was a good idea to introduce me to more.

I sat on my bed smiling and took out my phone and sent a quick thank you message to Macy.

I laid on my bed and then it hit that i was about to take a bath, i sprinted to the bathroom which was a bad idea cause i slipped on the ground and landed on my arm which now hurts.
