“It’s actually a good book” Says someone from behind me. I looked around and saw another being with great visuals, compared to Yvan and to that annoying well for nothing Beta, this guy over here is the most handsome one.

My eyes sparkled enjoying his perfect visuals, wow, how could this place have such handsome guys?

He smiled and in gracious goodness to the heavenly earth! I almost scream!

“This book is actually one of my favorite books” He said and picked up the book that I just dropped because of him. I don’t even remember that I dropped the book since I’m enjoying his visuals.

He moved closer to me and I can smell his damn manly scent and it lingers in my nose.

“Miss?” She said and waved his hand in front of my eyes whose staring at his perfectly made face. I shook my head “I’m sorry, whatis it again?” I asked.

He chuckled “I’ve read this book and it’s actually good, do you love novels?” He asked. I nodded.

“Uhh yeah, I actually have a lot of books, I keep it as a collection since its fun reading fictions” I said and smiled.

“Great! We’re the same. I’m also an avid fan of fiction novels and this book is actually one of my favorite one. I recommend this book to you” He said and handed me the book that I dropped.

I smiled “Thanks, I’ll definitely read this” I said.

“I’m Serafin by the way” He said and lends me his right hand “I’m Cassandra” I said and held his hand to shake hands with him.

“So, do you also go to Hybrid Empire University?” I asked him as we get our hands back.

“Do you go to that University?” He asked.

“Of course, It’s the only University in this place anyway” I responded.

“Cass!” I heard Lara’s voice from a far and so I turned to see her. “Right here Lara!” I said trying to get her attention.

Lara saw me and walked towards me “Come on, we have to go. It’s already 6 pm” Lara said.

“Sure” I said and looked back at Serafin to bid goodbye since we have to go home now.

“I’m sorry Seraf—“ I stopped as my eyes narrowed seeing no one behind me.

“Where did he go?” I asked myself.

“Who?” Lara asked “The guy I’m talking with earlier, didn’t you see him?” I asked.

“No and let’s go, we have to leave now it’s nearly 7 pm” Lara said and pulled me outside the book store.

“Wait Lara, I have to buy the book” I said “Forget it for now. Buy it when we come back here! We have go home Cass!” Lara said raising her voice.

“Ok I’m sorry” I said, Lara sighed and got a taxi for us.

“Let’s get you to your house first Lara and then my house next” I said “Nah, my house is right beside your house so it’s okay” Lara said.

My eyes narrowed “We’re neighbors?” I asked.

“Yeah, I actually saw you the day when you first came here and I also saw you when the Delta dropped you home” Lara said.

“And you’re granny is friends with my granny that’s why I approached you earlier because you’re granny asked me to look after you. See, I became an instant nanny just because of you” Lara said.

I shrugged “Yeah whatever” I murmured trying to think about the guy I just met earlier.

“Lara did you really not see a guy beside me in the book store earlier?” I asked.

“Yeah speaking of that, I didn’t really saw someone beside you when I saw you in the store” Lara said.

Wrinkles formed in my forehead “It’s a little weird though, how did Serafin manage to leave in that short amount of time?” I asked myself.

After saying that, I noticed the sudden change of expression in the faces of Lara and our taxi driver. They seemed surprised and scared just because of what I said.

“What did you just say?” Lara said “Serafin?” She added, even the taxi driver is too curious that he kept on looking at us.

“Yeah, that’s the name of the guy I just met earlier” I said.

“It’s impossible miss, no one especially humans can meet the Rebel’s king” Says the taxi driver that made my eyes narrow.

“Cass, there is only one Serafin in Luna Canidae and that name belongs to the Rebel’s king” Lara said.

I looked at Lara “Are you telling me that what I met earlier is the Rebel’s king? That’s impossible, how could I, a human meet a Rebel especially if it’s their king?” I said.

Granny told me that rebels can’t stand talking with humans because the scent of humans makes them crave for human meat and blood especially if it’s the Rebel’s king.

“If it really is the Rebel’s king, I advise you to be more careful” Says the driver and stopped the car.

“Anyway we’re here” He added and looked at the address that Lara gave him.

“Thank you sir” Lara said and paid the driver, the driver nodded and left.

“It’s impossible” I murmured.

“Cass I think it’s not a good thing for you if you tell your Granny that you met the Rebel’s king because if you do, she may get a heart attack. Everybody in this place is scared of two creatures and that’s the Alpha and the Rebel’s king” Lara said.

I nodded, yeah maybe its better not to tell Granny about this case because if I do, she will definitely persuade me to go back to the city and I don’t want to leave Granny here alone.

“Cassandra! Lara!” I heard Granny’s voice calling for our names “Granny” I said.

“Lara, go inside your house it’s already 7 pm and you Cassandra, come inside the house and make it faster!” Granny said.

Lara nodded and looked at me “Bye Cass” Lara said and waved her hand. I nodded “Yeah, thanks Lara” I said and waved my hand too. I ran towards our house and entered.

“You’re late, I told you to come home before seven Cass” Granny said.

I smiled “Granny relax, I’m here already. I just visited the mall earlier but I promise that I won’t be late again” I said showing her my most innocent smile. Granny shook her head.

“Let’s eat, I prepared a very special adobo for us” Granny said and went straight to the kitchen.

I woke up because of the rays of the sun coming in from my window. I stretched my arms and stared at my ceiling. Wow, I had a very good sleep.

I grabbed my phone on the table to see the time but I stopped when my hands felt something unusual on the table beside my bed. I sat down only to see a book below my phone, wrinkles formed on my forehead after seeing the familiar book.

I grabbed it and read its title. “Someone’s painful sacrifice” I murmured, this was the book recommended bySerafin last night. I remember not buying it last night so why is this book in my room right now?

I opened the book and saw a note in the first page.

‘It’s disappointing that you were not able to buy this book so I bought it for you and brought this book personally here. Consider this as my friendship gift for you Cass, I’m looking forward to meet you again – Serafin’

I gasped after reading Serafin’s note, how did he manage to enter my room last night when I made sure that everything is locked? Does that mean that what Lara and our taxi driver last night said was true? That Serafin, the guy with perfect visuals whom I met last night was the Rebel’s king?

But that’s impossible, how could a rebel talk to a human?

I shrugged and placed the novel in my bag, I’m thinking of sharing about this incident to Lara but should I also share this to Yvan? He’s the Delta after all.

I jumped out of my bed to prepare myself to attend my first class.

“Granny I have to go!” I shouted as I leave the house.

“Cass!” Lara called my name as she run towards me.

“What time is your first class?” I asked as I look for a taxi for us. “My first class will be in 30 minutes” Lara said.

I nodded and waved my hand to call for the taxi that’s approaching us. I opened the door and entered first, after that Lara entered too.

“To Hybrid University sir” I said, the taxi driver nodded and started driving.

“Lara, look at this” I said and got my bag to bring out the novel that Serafin got for me.

“Do you remember this book?” I said and showed her the book “Isn’t that the one that you want to buy at the book store last night?” She asked, after saying that she suddenly realized something as her eyes grew wider.

“How come you have that? You didn’t buy the book last night though” She said.

“Exactly, I didn’t buy the book but I woke up earlier having this book on top of my table, weird isn’t it?” I said.

“How did that happened?” She asked, I flipped the cover of the book and showed her the note written on the first page of the book.

Lara silently read it and after reading it she let out a gasp “Tell me this is not real Cass” She said.

I sighed, I think it’s real. I really met the Rebel’s king, the most dangerous wolf in this place.

“I think you should tell it to the Delta, the Delta is not as powerful as the King but I think his capable enough to protect you” Lara recommended.

“Does that mean I’m in danger?” I asked showing Lara my terrified face.

“We’re here” Our taxi driver said, I paid the fair as Lara gets out of the taxi.

“Thank you sir” I said and got out of the car.

“Cass, I’m sorry but I have to go. My class is about to start” Lara said. I nodded and waved at her. Now I’m left alone again.

As I am walking in the cat walk, someone approached me and placed his arms on my shoulders. “Someone told me that you went home late last night” Yvan said and locked my head in his arms.

“Hey stop! I can’t breathe” I protested but he doesn’t seem to care and ruined my hairstyle using his hands while locking my head in his armpit.

“How stubborn could you be to not follow my orders?” Yvan added while busy messing my hair.

“Ok I’m sorry, Lara and I just went to the mall” I said, Yvan stopped and released my head. I glared at him “Thanks to you, I need to fix my hair again” I said.

Yvan smirked and placed his arms in my shoulders “Let’s eat” Yvan said.

“No, I don’t want to eat with you because first, you are the Delta and it’s hard to eat with someone who is a high ranked official in the Hybrid Empire. Second, I hate you for ruining my hair and third, you don’t even buy me a meal” I protested.

Yvan chuckled but instead of letting go of me, he pulled me to the cafeteria and since I’m weaker and smaller than him, I was dragged easily like a pet. I think I’m going to start my day trying to lengthen my precious patience to this annoying Delta.

For the first time in history, Yvan ordered something for me.

“I know you’re very touched right now since the powerful and handsome Delta is buying a food for you” He said displaying his infuriating smirk.

I rolled my eyes and then suddenly I remembered about the novel that Serafin left in my room.

“Yvan is it possible for a human to meet the Rebel’s king?” I asked. I saw wrinkles formed in his forehead and his eyes narrowed.

“It’s very impossible, just like the Alpha, the Rebel’s king doesn’t usually show itself to its fellow rebels and especially to humans” Yvan said while gobbling up his food.

“But are there special cases where an Alpha or a king meets humans?” I asked curiously, if the king doesn’t showhimself to humans then why did he approach me and why have he bought a book for me?

“As for the Alpha’s case, he only meets with the Cardinal who is a human but as for the king’s case, he meets with humans whom he wants to eat or whom he wants to be a mate”Yvan explained making me terrified because of the thought that the king might want me to be his food or to be his mate.

“Why did you ask anyway?” Yvan curiously asked.

I sighed, should I tell him that I met the king? But if I tell him about that, I will just give him another responsibility and that is to protect me from the king.

I smiled “Nothing, I’m just curious” I said and just like him, I gobbled up the food he ordered for me. He is the Delta, a very busy man whose job is to protect this place. I shouldn’t bother the Delta.

And speaking of this place, I’ve been here for almost a week and I still do not know the name of this place. The place does not even exist in the world map since this is a big island from the mainland.

“Luna Canidae” Yvan said. I raised my right eye brow “Luna what?” I asked.

“That’s the name of this island, Luna Canidae” He said, I nodded. What a fascinating name.

“How many classes do you have right now?” Yvan asked.

“I only have two classes, one at 11 am and one at 4 pm. Why?” I asked.

“Ok, after your class, meet me at the university auditorium. I should be the one to send you home, I didn’t know that you are this hard headed” He said, again I rolled my eyes.

“You don’t have to do that, I’m going home early anyway” I said.

“And you think that I’ll believe you?” Yvan said and shook his head.

“Meet me at the auditorium by 5 pm” He said showing me his scary eyes. I glared at him.

“Fine” I murmured and looked at my watch “I have to go, my class is about to start” I said.

Yvan nodded while I stood up to leave the cafeteria. I ran towards the building to not miss my first subject, I don’t want to be late though, and it’s one of my favorite subjects.

I entered the class and looked for a vacant seat that is near the window but I think everyone loves a seat that is beside a window.

I sighed. This is not my lucky day. Compared to other lecture rooms, this room is smaller and the number of students is greater than the other subjects, I guess a lot of students love chemistry or maybe it’s their pre-requisite.

I looked for seats that are vacant and for goodness sake, I saw one beside a sleeping man.

I walked towards the seat and placed my things on the table. I looked at my watch and its five minutes before the class starts. I sighed and looked at the man beside me. For no reason, the body build of the man beside me is a little familiar, have I met this guy before?

I was startled when he suddenly raised his head and looked at me using those bored yet sharp eyes “Don’t you know that it’s offensive when you look closely to someone’s body?” He said seriously.

“I-I’m sorry, I just thought you’re a little familiar” I responded.

His eyes narrowed and then he chuckled “So you are that stupid human that Yvan befriended? You are that stupid human who annoyed me yesterday in the cafeteria?” He said annoyingly making me furious for one annoying reason.

I smirked and looked at him using my most annoying face “So it’s the Beta, the stupid Beta that I just met yesterday. Ooops, my apologies, a mere human like me shouldn’t call the powerful Beta a stupid one because the word stupid is only applicable to the ones who are not in the high ranks” I said while locking my eyes in to his.

“Are you making fun of me?” He said annoyed, I flashed an innocent face “Of course not, how dare a mere human like me make jokes to the Beta? I should not annoy the Beta anyway, because if I do, the Beta will kill me” I said giving him the most hypocritical sweet smile that I could give.

He smiled bitterly and then he suddenly grabbed both of my cheeks using his right palms. I was startled because of what he did. Locking both of my cheeks using his hand, he leaned his face forward to meet my eyes.

I groaned in pain. He is hurting me.

“That’s why I hate filthy humans like you, you don’t know who you’re dealing with and you think that I have enough mercy to let you live” He said with his scary eyes gazed at me.

“B-beta stop, y-you’re hurting me” I said.

He grinned “Humans like you who does not respect the Hybrids should be punished. You’re lucky since you get to seduce the Delta but the next time you annoy me again? I will not show mercy to you again” He said and stood up to leave the room.
