Chapter 8

Mo Yan was stunned. Suddenly, she got nervous.

Mo Heng continued, "After all, you two have been together for so many years. I guess he still cares about you. I am already holding on to the current situation of the Mo Group. If you and he are fine, and even if something happens to the company, I don't need to worry about you."

Mo Yan nodded and left his office.

She couldn't concentrate all afternoon. What did Gu Yichen mean by sending ten million yuan? Did he really care about her? Mo Yan's felt bittersweet. Finally, she still called him.

It was a long time before the call was picked up. Mo Yan was so excited that just as she was about to speak, she heard a woman's high-pitched moan and the man's heavy breathing. Even if she had never experienced it, she could know what was going on here.

Mo Yan went pale and her mind was blank. She didn't even have the strength to hang up.

It was not until that voice stopped that Gu Yichen's deep and hoarse voice sounded.

"What's up?"

Mo Yan held back her tears and said in a trembling voice, "Do you have to humiliate me like this?"

Gu Yichen sneered, "Don't ask questions you already know the answer to. Aren't you insulting yourself?"

"If you hate me so deeply, why did you invest ten million yuan for the Mo Group?"

When Gu Yichen heard her question, he chuckled and said sarcastically, "My father likes the Spring Flowers in Full Bloom painting you gave him yesterday. He asked me to invest in my name because he knew that your father concerned about his reputation. It's weird that you are so narcissistic that you believe I did that for you."

Mo Yan did not listen to his last words. Every time she thought she was strong enough, Gu Yichen could easily break her down with just one phrase and trample on her self-esteem. In front of him, she was always a joke!

"Ding -" the phone rang again. Mo Yan wiped away her tears and took a deep breath to answer the call.

"Miss Mo, Mr. Lea agreed to meet you to discuss compensation."

Mo Yan's microblog was not verified, and she didn't update a lot, so she didn't have many fans. Naturally, the post were going unanswered.

However, Hairball, on the other hand, stayed with Paang Jiayi for a day and was sent back early the next morning.

"You should keep this cat yourself. Other people's cats can sleep 15 hours a day. This little troublemaker seems to have ADHD. Not to mention that it scratched the sofa, it ran to the balcony at night to howl. The security guards in the neighborhood thought I was imprisoning wild animals illegally, and they almost called the police."

Mo Yan was stunned and looked down at the innocent Hairball. It was hard to imagine that it was the troublemaker Paang Jiayi just mentioned.

"I brought all the thing needed, the cat toilet, food bowl, and cat food, to you."

Paang Jiayi rubbed Hairball's head, "Little troublemaker, we are over. Your mother is rich. You can live with her from now on."

Hairball raised its head and meowed. It snuggled up in Mo Yan's arms and rubbed gently like a spoiled child, making Mo Yan's heart soften.

After Paang Jiayi left, Mo Yan put Hairball on the ground and patted it on the head.

"Be good. I'll take you to examine later. You'll stay with me for the time being until your owner takes you away."

Hairball tilted its head and trembled its ears. It jumped onto the sofa and sat like a small white vase.

Mo Yan smiled. This apartment was the bridal chamber after she married Gu Yichen, but she was alone most of the year. Today, there was suddenly another creature in the room, and it seemed that she was not lonely anymore.

-

"Second Brother," Qiao Yujin leaned against the stairs, looked at the man eating downstairs, and teased, "You really don't want to have a look of the demeanor of Yun' an City's number one socialite?"

Lea Jingyu flipped through the newspaper without looking up, "Are there any news about Hairball?"

Qiao Yujin sighed and came down from upstairs. He pulled out a chair and sat across from him, "I'm trying my best to find it. I have checked all the place where the cats are sold in the city. I can confirm that Hairball didn't fall into the hands of the criminals. Maybe some little girl picked it up and hid it at home to play. It takes time to dig it up."

He paused for a moment and looked up, "People from the Lea family is already asking about you. The Old Master is still lingering in the shadow of death on the bed and these people already can't wait. Second Brother, you've become a thorn in everyone's eye before you act. Do you think what does the Old Master mean by calling you back at this time?"

"It's none of your business."

Lea Jingyu put down the newspaper and glanced at him. "Go to the company more often when you have time. You're not young anymore. Don't just go to the bar and pick up girls all day long."

"I only have this one hobby, and you are taking it away. Are you killing me? Well, I'm leaving. I won't bother you."

Qiao Yujin picked up a piece of bread, stood up, took two steps, and stopped. He turned around and blinked at him. "Second Brother, did you really do something to the girl on the road that night? Otherwise, why would the police arrest you for no reason?"

Lea Jingyu frowned, picked up the plate on the table, and threw it at him. Qiao Yujin dodged quickly and ran away laughing.

After Mo Yan made an appointment with the pet hospital, she tied up her ponytail, changed into light clothes, and went downstairs. She found that Hairball was still sitting on the sofa. Its furry back looked so cute.

She couldn't help but smiled. She went forward and gently pushed its head. As a result, the "little vase" tilted and fell straight on the sofa. As if it was fixed, its limbs were still in the same position as before.

Mo Yan patted its butt and whispered, "Are you playing rascal?"

Hairball opened one eye and gave a faint meow.

Mo Yan was stunned and bent down to pick it up. The little guy immediately snuggled up to her and gently rubbed against her. From time to time, it stuck out its pink tongue and licked the nose. Its temperature was abnormally high.

It was sick.

Mo Yan immediately reached this conclusion and did not dare to delay any longer. She called a car on the phone first and then carried Hairball downstairs.

When she went out, it happened to be rush hour, and the traffic was very heavy. When the car reached Binhai road, the car could no longer move. Seeing the traffic jam in front of her, Mo Yan asked anxiously, "Driver, how long will it be?"

The driver said unhurriedly, "The traffic jam in Yun'an City is like that in the capital. Luckily, it would take half an hour. If you are out of luck, it might take a few hours. Who knows?"

Mo Yan frowned, picked up Hairball, paid the bill, and got out of the car.

Binjiang avenue was very congested. Mo Yan thought about it and went to the overpass. Although she was taking a detour through the route, it was the only road not blocked, but it was even harder to take a taxi.

She hugged Hairball with one hand and waved at the passing cars with the other, but none of them stopped. The little cat in her arms was so listless that she was heartbreaking. Mo Yan frowned and went straight to the middle of the road.

"Ci-"

A piercing scream broke through the clouds. Mo Yan opened her eyes and saw a Bentley parked in front of her. Through the windshield, she could see the deep and dark eyes of the man in the driver's seat. Her heart was beating fast and she suddenly got nervous.
