Chapter 4 He Was a Man of His Words

Hupo hung up the phone and sat in a daze on the bed.

A few seconds later, the phone rang again.

"Lan Hupo, if you lose the baby, I'll kick your whole family to hell."

Hupo closed her eyes and lay down.

That night, she did not eat or sleep, but quietly licked her wounds in a corner like an injured deer.

The next day, Ke Beichen did keep his word. The stock price of Lan's Family continued to drop.

"Lan Hupo, your father is in hospital. If you still have a little mercy left, deal with Ke Beichen! If you don't, just jump down from a building. Your father doesn't have a daughter like you." Before Hupo could say anything, Jiang Lam just hung up the phone.

Hupo went to the hospital and sawt his father from a distance. His father had lost a lot of weight.

Jiang Lam sat at his bedside, weeping silently.

She turned around and staggered out of the hospital. She did not take a taxi but walked back to Ke Beichen's villa.

The Lamborghini followed her closely and saw Hupo swaying all the way. He pulled up beside her. "Lan Hupo, get in the car. "

Hupo turned around and got into Ke Beichen's car like a walking dead. She sat quietly without a word.

Ke Beichen sent her to the villa and said coldly, "If anything wrong happens to you and the child, the next time your father will not be in the hospital, but the coffin!"

Saying that, Ke Beichen turned around and left.

Hupo smiled faintly. It was not just he who hated her like this; she also even despised herself.

Three years ago, she felt that it was unnecessary for her to live in this world.

But then she met him and he brought her the warm sunshine, making her freezing heart finally melt again.

But now, it was he who made her return to her old self.

"Miss Lan, the dinner is ready. Mr. Ke chose all the food for you. They are good for pregnant women."

Hupo ate slowly. It tasted awful; she didn't even know what she was eating. She just tried to finish the task.

When she put down her chopsticks, she heard the nanny happily reporting to Ke Beichen, "Sir, Miss Lan has finished a lot. Don't worry, sir."

She got up and went back to her room. She realized that there were some books on the table; they were all about parenting. She randomly picked one and read it; but the book was actually upside down. She had no mood to read it. She was thinking about her father in the hospital.

The next day, the share price of Lan's company soared dramatically.

Ke Beichen, he did keep his words.

Hupo's was asleep. She suddenly felt something soft and cold pressing lightly against her lips.

She slowly opened her eyes in the darkness and smelled something familiar—it was Ke Beichen.

He was kissing her in this quiet night.

He hugged her and fell asleep. She was in his arms, but she could no longer feel the warmth she had once felt.

"Hupo, I will always love you, pamper you for the rest of my life."

She heard him whisper in her ear and tears flooded in her eyes. She was a woman, not his pet. She didn't need those so-called 'pamper.'

Did he understand that?
