Chapter 6

"Shanequa, I need to talk to you,” Kamon said banging on her door.

“Jeez, patience Kamon." She said opening the door wide for her husband to enter. She wore a long-sleeved big shirt that stopped mid-thigh. Her baby bump was showing as she was three months gone.

“Sit." He ordered as she sat down.

“I've come to a conclusion that this marriage or deal or sham, anything you call it is not working out for us both. So after you deliver the baby, you leave with the baby, thus we go separate ways." Kamon stated. There was an awkward silence for a while before Shanequa spoke up.

“Do you hate me that much, can't we work things out?" She sobbed as her hormones took a hold of her. Some months ago if she was told this, she would happily have accepted it, but now, she had grown fond of him even though they didn't relate much, she felt at peace knowing he was around.

Kamon sighed before speaking, “I don't hate you Shanequa, I never have, it's this deal or marriage that's driving me nuts." He added.

“We can work this out Kamon, don't give up." She probed further. “We can't, can't you see!" He raised his voice making her flinch.

“Fine, I'd leave after I deliver if that makes you happy." She turned her back to him. "You can leave now." She spat.

“Leave, Kam-- aaaaaaaah." She screamed in pain as she felt a sharp pain in her tummy. “Are you okay?" Kamon panicked.

Shanequa shook her head vigorously as Kamon helped her change into a maxi sundress and helped her down the stairs.

“Kendra, tell Luke to start the fucking car!" He yelled frustrated as he helped his wife downstairs. Kendra helped them into the car as Luke drove off as they shut the door.

In a couple of minutes, they had reached the hospital, the nurses wheeled her into the ward as Kamon paced up and down.

What went wrong, She's not due yet. He thought to himself.

The doctor arrived after some minutes and asked to see Kamon in his office. “Calm down Sir, she's fine and so are the babies." She said.

“Excuse me did you say, babies?" Kamon asked shocked.

“You're having quadruplets." Dr Amy smiled at him as he took a minute to process all he had been told.

“That's not the issue right now, She needs rest and a lot of rest, Shock caused this problem and almost harmed your babies, I suggest any news that will bring her pain or shock should be held until she delivers." The doctor advised.

“Okay, thanks doctor, can I take her home now?" He inquired.

“I'm sorry you can't, we have to keep her here for a week to monitor her progress." She told.

“Thanks once, again. Can I see her?" He asked.

“Sure, sir this way please." Dr Amy said leading the way to Shanequa's ward.

Shanequa had turned her head to face the wall. She was praying nothing had happened to her baby.

“Shanequa."Kamon softly called sitting next to her. She was in no mood to argue. She turned her teary face to her husband as he used his thumbs to wipe her face. “Sssh, nothing happened to our babies." He said smiling at her. Is this man bipolar? One minute he wants nothing to do with her and her baby and now he's saying our babies. She thought to herself.

“Babies?" She asked.

“Yeah, we're having quadruplets," Kamon added.

“Really?" She asked trying to sit up as Kamon helped her.

“Yes, but the doctor says you need more rest, that means you aren't going to the office anytime soon." He told.

“But I have a ton to do at the office." She pouted.

“Elsa can handle that." He added smiling at her.

“So, does it mean after I give birth to the quadruplets I'd leave?" She asked after a few minutes of silence.

“Don't stress about that, when we get there we would figure out a solution." He added.

“I'm hungry now." She changed the topic making Kamon chuckle.

“At your service your highness, what do you crave for?" He asked.

One week flew by and Shanequa was fit to go home. Kamon had spent a lot of time with her at the hospital, making their bond grow. Nola, Kendra and Elsa had come to see her. Even her obnoxious father-in-law, Peter had come over with his wife and daughter.

“Doc, can I see you for a moment outside?" Kamon added as they walked out leaving Shanequa and Nola in the ward.

“It seems he has changed or it's just a façade?" Nola asked.

“He has changed Nola, and I think I'm beginning to fall for him," Shanequa confessed.

“How can I help Mr.Mills?" Dr Amy asked.

“I er, erm, what if erm, my wife errm--" He fumbled with his words.

“What if she's horny or craving for sex, how do you satisfy her without hurting her?" The doctor finished his sentence for him.

“Yea." He said.

“Just give her sex, but not rough sex, just some smooth sex." Dr Amy added.

“Thanks, Doc." He said as he met Nola and Shanequa in front of her ward.

“Can we go now?" She asked her husband.

“Of course." He said as he held his wife as Nola took her bags and followed them out of the sanitarium.

“Kendra is asking what to prepare for you," Nola added as they sat in the car.

“I'm craving noodles stir fry and I want ice cream, tell her to get mint," Shanequa said as her eyes lit up.

“At your service ma'am," Nola said as she sent a quick message to Kendra.

Kendra quickly stocked the fridge with her boss's favourite mint ice cream. She had moved her stuff to Kamon's room as he had instructed her to do. He claimed he needed to keep a close watch on her. Just as they got home, Kendra had set the table for the tee of them and had dished out their meal.

She took the stuff up to their room as Kamon helped her sit down. Every bite she took she moaned at its deliciousness.

“Shanequa, you're making me think you want something either than food," Nola added making Kamon choke on his food. He gulped down a glass of water and glared at a grinning Nola.

“The food is good, but what you're thinking won't be bad." She winked at an uncomfortable Kamon.

“I'd be upstairs." He took his plate of food up to his study as Shanequa and Nola continued with their meal and conversation.
