Chapter 15 Don't Remember

Yuri left Idy Chan and her daughter behind. He would pick with them after he found Joey.

Back in his car, he answered the phone call.

"President."

"Go ahead."

"I have searched all over the city, but haven't found Joey," The secretary reported truthfully. In the past three days, he had searched almost all the hospitals and transportation stations.

"Good-for-nothing!" Yuri stroke the steering. How could she disappear? He was sure that she was still alive. She had signed the divorce agreement!

"And she didn't go overseas. There was no record."

"Keep looking for her!" Yuri growled, "whatever it takes!"

"Understood." His secretary had been serving him for many years. It was the first time he really cared about Joey Lin.

"Let me know immediately after you find her!" It shouldn't be a big deal to find someone in the city. Why was it so difficult this time?

He was angry and resentful. She must be injured badly. Where could she go?

"Also, go investigate Farad!" Farad also disappeared after the accident. Maybe he concealed Joey, as he loved her.

...

However, he hadn't found Joey after a week.

Yuri could no longer bear it. Every day when he returned home, the empty villa was as quiet as a grave, making him feel scared. He wanted Joey back to him!

However, there was no record showing that she had taken any flight, or checked in any hotel.

She just disappeared in the city.

One day.

His secretary showed him some pictures.

It was on the beach. She was in a wheelchair with one leg in a plaster cast. She had cut her long curly hair. Her face was pale and lifeless as if she had just returned from the jaws of death. The man standing next to her was Farad!

Yuri hadn't seen Joey for almost a month, his hand trembling with nervousness.

"Where are they?" He frowned and asked. His heart that was hanging in suspense could be slightly relieved at the moment.

"They live in ... Green Plum Island." Replied the secretary.

"What?" Yuri slammed the table and got up. She was only miles away from him!

Her secretary searched for all the places where Joey might go. But he forgot the tourist attraction. No one would have expected her to choose the place which was not far from home.

"Book a ship and pick up Dr. Cheng. We'll go to Green Plum Island immediately!"

"Got it."

A private cruise ship sailed towards the Green Plum Island in the night. The secretary had arranged someone to keep watch on Joey. Yuri would be able to meet her in an hour.

Sitting by the president's side, he clearly felt that Yuri was much more relaxed.

One day seemed like a year during the past 50 days. Yuri had suffered enough.

He even brought doctor Cheng along their trip. He was a private doctor of Xing's family and was especially good at treating orthopedic injuries. He also arranged nannies and nurses at home.

As long as she came back, he would definitely compensate her.

After the ship landed, they got on a black Bentley.

About ten minutes later, the car arrived at a small house.

Yuri got out of the car alone and pushed the gate open. His palms were sweaty and his heart was beating fast.

"Joey-"

No one answered him. She was not here?

His secretary came to him. Yuri immediately raised his vigilance and gazed at him.

His secretary got frightened. He was sure that Joey lived here. He saw Farad pushed Joey who was in a wheelchair entering the small courtyard.

Suddenly ...

"Farad, is that you?" A familiar voice sounded.

As the wooden door opened, Joey appeared in front of Yuri with a single crutch.

Her face was thin and pale.

Yuri widened his eyes and looked at her leg in disbelief.

Her leg was injured so badly. The whole leg was in a plaster cast.

When their eyes met, both of them were stunned.

"Who are you looking for? "Asked Joey, tilting her head in confusion, as if he were a complete stranger.

Yuri was shocked.

She was also very strange. She didn't talk to strangers. But she wasn't afraid of him, nor wanted to chase him away. Had she met him before?

"You don't know me?" Asked Yuri.

"No." Joey adjusted her position.

In the middle of the night, a group of black-shirted men entered her house. It was really scary. She looked at the door and wondered why Farad hadn't returned.

She was about to close the door, which was a bit difficult for her.

"Wait a minute," Cried Yuri.

Joey looked at him with wariness. He was frustrated by her coldness.

However, Yuri smiled at her, "Joey, you really not remember me?"

This was the first time Yuri had smiled since she disappeared. It was great to see her again.

"Joey, you don't have to put on a brave face for me. Just relax first."

He owed Joey so much, so he wouldn't blame her for pretending not to know him.

Joey didn't answer.

Yuri quickly stepped forward to stop her when she was about to close the door.
