Chapter 22 We've Never Kissed before

She glared at him with vigilance in her eyes.

She was confused at the scene in her mind and felt afraid. Pushing him away was almost a subconscious reaction.

"What happened?"

His low voice sounded in the quiet bedroom. This was the first time he had kissed her, and it was really good.

"Don't touch me, I'm sick." She covered her head like a frightened ostrich that was trying to bury itself into the sand.

Her emotions and thoughts were chaotic. She couldn't figure out why Yuri appeared in her mind.

Yuri's bold actions made her heart beat fastened, but she failed to resist.

"Ok, I won't touch you," He forced himself to calm down and asked in a gentle voice, "Have you remembered anything?"

He had a feeling that she had recalled the past. At the moment, Joey was not the only one in a panic.

Yuri selfishly hoped that she would never remember those unhappy memories.

"I hate Cynthia for her hypocrisy!" She was stunned at her own words. What did she say just now?

She was so flustered when she remembered that she had a sister. Her sister was scared, and she hated her so much.

Her memory was like a monster. She tried to avoid it, but it never let her go. She wanted to escape to the Green Plum Island, her safe haven. She missed Farad, and really wanted to hide in his embrace.

Yuri's heart sank as he heard Joey called Cynthia's name. He pulled her into his arms and held her tightly.

He clearly felt that Joey was shivering in his arms.

He realized that Joey was too skinny. She was as light as a piece of paper.

"Joey, don't be afraid. I'm here." He murmured at her ears with tenderness, trying to comfort her. He was annoyed. If he knew that his kiss would bring her bad feelings, he would definitely hold it back.

He didn't know that her inner defenses were gradually collapsing. His chest was warm and thick, and it was completely different from Farad.

They hugged each other, without knowing how long it had past. After a while, Joey slowly looked up and seemed to have calmed down.

"We never kissed before." She was expressionless.

Yuri was surprised. Her words froze him, and he was sure that she had recalled part of her memories, which made him feel uneasy. They had never kissed, nor held each other's hands.

"You are kidding. We have been married for three years!" He smiled a bitter smile.

The fact was they had never had any close companionship as a normal couple.

Joey frowned. She was not convinced by his answer.

"You are lying."

"But I am your husband." Yuri lowered his eyes.

Joey stiffened. After a long while, she said firmly, "if you were my husband, why didn't we have a photo together? Where's the marriage certificate?"

Yuri failed to explain to her.

"So we're not married at all." She concluded in her own way.

"Joey …" He was still trying to explain it to her.

"I am tired." She was unwilling to listen. She finally calmed down and didn't want to have another brainstorm.

Yuri sighed. He could only sit there and let her lean against his shoulder. Joey soon fell asleep like a tired baby.
