Prologue

February 14, 2021

Dear Diary,

I used to be mad at Disney, they fooled those little children who grew up believing that they will find their prince charming. Who believes in stories where a corpse is kissed by a handsome man, where a shoe slipped from a foot despite how similar the size is, where it is very impossible for a kingdom or a village to not have the same shoe size like her, where he says he you are the love of his life but forgets what you look like and puts a shoe on every girl in the kingdom, where a princess only met one boy in her life apart from her father but doesn't recognize his face when he disguises himself, where one questions if it is safe to ride a magic carpet but has a tiger for a pet, where a mermaid transforms her fish tail to a pair of human legs to travel across the land and sea searching for a man she barely knows and lastly, with those clichés happy-ever-after endings.

Then, the world decided to play with me when I locked eyes with the most beautiful ocean eyes I’ve ever saw and with the most cliché scene ever; we met in one of those café where they serve the best coffee, how ironic.

You showed me those pearly teeth as you smile towards me, not noticing my cheeks that were painted red. I didn't trust who you are as I know what kind of person you are, especially when you are very popular but I let my heart lead instead of my mind, I let my heart fool me for you, and you melt my frozen pessimistic heart throughout the journey. 

You were the one that completely melted me. You were the one who convinced me that true love does exists. You were the one who turned me into a completely different person but what I did not expect is that you…

You were also the one who broke my heart.
