The Party

The Party Part 1

I woke up with a start, something was shaking my bed badly, I almost screamed out before my eyes shot open and I found myself looking at Lillian. I had to stop myself from attacking her, knowing that with my Alpha blood her Beta blood would have to eventually submit to me. I knew how bad submitting made you feel and I didn't want to make my best friend must feel that so I decided that yelling at her would be a better option.

"What do you think that you're doing? Do you know how badly I wanted to attack you just now? What would have happened if I followed my instincts and actually did it?" I yelled at her.

"Oh, loosen up we both know you're not giving yourself enough credit when it comes to controlling yourself and how you think before you actually do anything, unlike most of us." Lillian said with a dismissive wave of her hand.

"You never know what just might happen when you wake up someone like that though! You really scared me this time Lillian." I said.

"I scare you every time, and this is the same exact reaction I get every time, I know how to run, and if anything, different ever happens then I'll just run away." She said simply.

I knew that I wasn't going to get through to her just like every other day so I just sat back and smiled at her. Hopefully she will eventually understand where I'm coming from one day, but until then I'll just keep giving her the same exact lecture every day.

"So, what are you doing here. Why was it so important for you to wake me up before I was obviously ready?" I asked.

"It's the day of your party! We must start getting ready for it now! You know we have to get going if you want it to be as perfect as you say you want it to be!"

I knew she was right so I shook the sleep out of me and sat up rubbing my eyes so that hopefully they would be able to stay open so I can get started on everything that Lillian had set up for us to do. If there's one thing I know about my best friend, it's that she is one of the best planners there have ever been. It's probably some of her Beta blood coming out and showing itself. She wanted to start her own event planning business when she could, until then she found little things, or in this case someone who would let her run wild with a credit card, and do her passion that way.

I slowly stood up out of bed and headed towards my bathroom to take a quick shower and get dressed. I had a white v neck tee- shirt and a pair of leggings along with matching under clothes thrown into my hands and was hastily shoved into the bathroom, the door behind me slamming after me.

"Hurry up in there, we don't have all day! Make sure you wash everything, we won't have time for another shower before we get our hair and makeup done. Don't worry about doing anything to your hair, the hair dressers want a fresh start so just put it up in a bun or something after it dries by itself."

Lillian continued to ramble about what to do and what not to do as I turned on the shower and it drowned her out. I know I should probably feel a little bad about ignoring her, but she was going to be a thorn in my side for the day and I just didn't care now.

Once I had made sure to do everything that Lillian had want me to do while I was in the shower I got out and dried myself off. I got dressed into the outfit that she had handed me and headed out to my room where she was waiting for me.

"Alright, off to the spa we go!" She said while clapping her hands.

"Are we the only ones that are going?" I asked out of plain curiosity.

"Well I think Brianna said she wanted to come and since she's the only other girl that we ever really talk to I figured that it would be okay if she came too."

I nodded with a slight smile showing her that I was alright with that. If I do find my mate tonight, that meant that I wouldn't be able to be here for very much longer and Lillian needed another girl that she could talk to that would always be here for her when I couldn't be, and Brianna wasn't a bad person, I kind of liked her. I just didn't want to get too close to someone when I knew that I was going to be leaving soon.

Lillian grabbed my purse off my desk and threw it at me before grabbing my arm and dragging me out of my room and out of the house behind her. Once we made it downstairs I saw my mom in the kitchen waiting with a brown paper bag.

"I made you breakfast since I knew you were going to have a busy day getting ready for your party." She said with a smile.

I smiled gratefully at her and ran up to her and gave her a hug and a kiss on the cheek.

"You are the best! You're always on top of things. I don't know what I would do without you." I said honestly.

"You'd be dragged all over creation without a full stomach thanks to that one over there." My mother said barely audible while nodding towards Lillian causing me to have a fit of laughter.

"What? what did I miss?" Lillian asked looking at us with bewilderment causing us both to laugh harder.

"Nothing Lillian, mom just made a joke about my hair." I gave Mom a secret look. "Let's get going before we're late to the party."

That seemed to distract her from what had just happened and she grabbed my arm again and we headed off to the spa, where we were waxed, wrapped, and massaged until the awful memories of the other two activities went away.

After the spa, we went to the hair dressers who did our hair, mine was put into a cute braided up do that left a few pieces hanging out randomly. Lillian had her hair curled and half of it put up into an elegant bow of sorts. I thought we both looked amazing. We went over to the other side of the hair salon to the makeup stylist and our makeup was done to match not only our bodies, but our dresses too, I had a slight gold shimmer about my face and body. Not a lot so that I looked like one of those golden statues, but just a gentle touch.

We headed back to my house once we were done to get dressed. We got dressed carefully as to not mess up the stylist hard work (goddess knows that if they were to find out that we had messed up our makeup, I'm not sure that we would still be around today).

When we were finally finished getting ready we knew that the party had already started, but who wants to be the ones that were already downstairs and waiting for people to show up, it gets awkward. It's better to show up when people have already gotten there.

We turned to the mirror for one last look at ourselves to make sure that everything was just right.

"I can't believe that it's time for the party!" Lillian said with excitement oozing from every inch of her.

"I can't believe that I can possibly find my mate!" I said just as excited as her.

"I wonder what he's going to be like." Lillian wondered aloud.

"I just hope that he's as excited as I am to meet him." I said.

There was a knock at the door that tore us away from our conversation.

"Are you girls ready yet? Your parents are getting worried that you've ran away out of fright." I could hear the smartness dripping off Patrick's voice.

"We're coming!" I yelled and looked at Lillian with a smile.

"It's time to roll!" Lillian exclaimed.

I giggled at her and grabbed her hand and off we went to the party that was being held in my back yard. Our large pool had been covered by a platform dance floor that was beautiful. There were lanterns hanging from the house to the trees and everywhere in between. The tables were spread out evenly on the side of the pool closest to the trees while the food tables were to the right of the pool.

I was so surprised and excited that I could barely contain myself. My mother and father were the first ones to come over to me after I exited the house.

"Honey you look absolutely beautiful!" My mother said with a hint of tears in her eyes.

"I can't believe my little girl is all grown up!" My dad said with a hint of tears of his own.

"Aw, guys! This is amazing! I can't believe you guys did this! I would have never imagined it being this amazing!" I told them looking from them to everything out in the yard around us.

"Well, honestly we were just in charge of making sure everyone did the jobs that Lillian assigned them to do. The rest was all her and whoever she could get to help." My father said with a laugh.

My mother and I laughed too as we looked to Lillian who had a slight blush on her cheeks.

"Well I had to make sure this was one to go down in the record books, who knows, maybe one of the people attending need someone to plan an event for them, this is just what I need to get someone else to let me do this for them." She said trying to hid the fact that she was slightly embarrassed.

We all just laughed again. We heard a cough come from beside us and all turned to find a young man standing there with a powerful aura around him.

"Oh, Alpha Josiah! What a pleasure it is to see that you were able to make it!" My father said with a smile.

"I'm glad I was able to make it myself, is this the birthday girl here?" He asked with a charming smile in my direction.

"Yes, this is our daughter, Evelyn. Evelyn, this is Alpha Josiah of the Northern Moon pack." My father introduced us.

I shook the hand that he held out for me with a little smile. I made sure to pay attention to my bodies reaction to him, and other then the general feeling of wonder to this new Alpha that I hadn't met yet, there was nothing. He wasn't my mate.

There was a line of people that were gathering behind him to congratulate me on my birthday so he was forced to move along, much to the displeasure on his face.

Lillian and I were taking turns dancing with Patrick when I got a whiff of something that just stuck out to me like a sore thumb, but it was such a little whiff that I couldn't tell what it was. I excused myself from them and followed it to the best of my ability.

The scent was coming from a very tall male that was about two full heads taller than me. As I got closer I notice him start to sniff and turn around to face me. The moment I saw his face I was mesmerized. His strong facial features and his goatee that surrounded his lips just made me want to touch them even more. His eyes were a beautiful chocolate brown that just made me want to melt.

The moment we made eye contact I know it was for sure. He was my mate.
