It was already morning. Anurag splashed the water on his face, washing it neat. He was working all the night. He was prepared for the investigation when Ruby ran to him.

"The reports are here," She said. Anurag wiped his face with the towel hurriedly and take the envelope. The autopsy reports has been arrived. It was his final hope.

The reports stated to be found some alcohol content in the body referring it to a male skeleton. When he read further something unusual caught his attention.

It also indicated the death caused mainly because of the oxygen supply had been cut off to his body. Leading him to the choking to breathe and then death.

Anurag was thinking the reason behind it. It could be possible because of the fire and the driver couldn't breathe properly in the smoke and died on the spot. Then his body was burnt in the process or it could be also in other ways where his mind was dragging him too.

But unaware of any clues. There were several bone breaks stated in this process.

"Driver could have to try to get out of the car before"

Anurag questioned.

"Perhaps he couldn't because of the alcoholic effect and injuries," Ruby answered.

"Possible" Anurag nodded.

"His bones were broken too," He said.

"It might have caused when the car flipped on the ground multiple times after colliding on the rock, because it was in a full speed, his body too has flipped with it causing to hit inside the car and having multiple fractures," Ruby said.

Anurag couldn't think beyond that. Ruby was stating as much as accurate possibilities which he couldn't point out flaws.

"The ashes you had collected has no hint of other people that the victim"

Ruby said as she read ahead.

"But I have found a footprint there, someone was there," Anurag said.

"Perhaps the one who called us," Ruby said. Anurag was finally having a disagreement with her. The person who informed about the incident couldn't be the same person involved in this case. He looked short while the footprints were long. Also indicated the quality of shoes. While the poor person was wearing slippers. Anurag shook off her point. No.

"Will it be possible that the fire took place later?" Anurag asked Ruby. Testing her brains and patience more. She looked at him in disbelief.

"What? Isn't it obvious the fire took after the car was hit to the tree? " She said not properly understanding what he meant.

"Well, let it be" Anurag sighed out. He wanted to make it sure first before randomly picking up any doubts.

"Did you find any information about the victim's car?" Anurag asked to Ruby.

"Yes sir" She handed one print out to him.

"The car is registered on the name of

Aryan Singh, son of Virpratap Singh

The chief minister "

Her voice lowered. His jaw clenched tight. Virpratap Singh was the powerful politician of the town and main reason behind Anurag's suspension a few years ago. He was back again.

"Contact him and proceed with this information to him now. Carry the body at his bungalow"

Anurag blankly said. Ruby nodded.

"We need to find out about his son, Aryan Singh. He must have got some real enemies. Are we getting any clue from his mobile? " Anurag asked.

"Sir his mobile has been completely burnt but we have still managed to trace the sim card of it. We have managed to collect his last call details."

Ruby said handing over another paper to him.

"His last call made this number, saved as wife, Arya Singh," Ruby said.

Anurag looked at the number and murmured a name. "Arya"

Chief minister Bungalow_

Anurag checked the time on his wristwatch. The temperature was still under the ten degrees. The winters in Delhi was hitting differently this time. He has covered a warm woollen scarf around his neck.

Anurag entered the bungalow and saw a scene of the devastation.

He was stopped by the guards.

"CID officer Anurag Suryavanshi

I'm here on duty" He said showing his badge. Ruby showed her ID card.

"No, we can't let you inside. Sir has not given us permission to let you inside"

Guard said.

"Listen, you can't stop me doing my duty," Anurag said in a cold tone.

"Lower your tone, stay in your limits" He said pissing off Anurag.

Anurag rolled up his sleeves. Ruby stopped him from doing anything further.

"What is happening here? "

A loud manly voice interrupted them.

Anurag looked at the direction and saw Vir Pratap Singh walking towards him with a sly smirk on his face.

A complete white beard, tall intimidating figure and white moustache politician, Vir Pratap Singh looked at Anurag like he was nothing in front of him. Anurag was chided to the core thinking that this political is now chief minister which surely gave him the power to handle even the police.

"Sir, I'm here to meet you only, but your guards are not letting me inside," Anurag said politely which the politician in front of him doesn't deserve. Guards raised their voices against Anurag but Vir Pratap Singh showed his palm to them and gestured them to go.

"We are really sorry for your loss, we have deep condolences to... " Anurag was interrupted by Vir Pratap Singh.

"Yeah yeah, come to the point, "He said.

Anurag looked at him as he wasn't much affected by his son's death.

"I need to ask you some questions"

Anurag said.

"I have only one answer to your all questions"

"Sir let me even ask"

"You aren't going to get anything here"

"But sir"

"Have you forgotten your suspension officer Anurag? " Vir Pratap Singh mocked at him. Anurag controlled hard not to react stupidly.

"Have you forgotten the fact of why I was suspended, Mr Singh? " Anurag challenged. Vir Pratap Singh looked affected by Anurag's words. He was well known of how Anurag had almost caught him for his crimes and to save himself, he had to use his powers in politics to suspend Anurag.

"No one in this bungalow is bound to tell you anything," Vir Pratap Singh said annoyingly.

"Because you can't interfere in my duty, this isn't an assembly hall so keep your politics in your pocket," Anurag said and walked in.

Vir Pratap Singh pulled out his phone and dialled a number.

"Hello Sinha,

Vir Pratap Singh talking "

Commissioner's Office_

Anurag walked in. His silk black hair neatly combed suited perfectly to his face. His sharp facial features prominently became visible as he clean shaved his beard. His eyes had a slight hint of tiredness. Still, he appeared energetic and willing to work.

He marched ahead towards the conference cabin.

"May I come in?"

Anurag knocked on the door.

"Yes come in"

A voice came from inside. DCP Sinha closed a file and kept it on the desk.

"Come Detective Anurag

Have a seat.

I was waiting for you only to discuss about a new work "

He greeted.

"Sorry for interrupting sir,

But I'm currently working on a case.

It's a car accident case on National highway 10" Anurag told him.

"That case has been currently closed"

Mr.Sinha said. Which made Anurag furious.

"Sorry, sir? But may I know why?" He asked calmly. Holding his anger inside. No wonder Vir Pratap has again used his contacts, he thought.

"Why do you want to waste your time on a normal car accident case," Mr Sinha asked.

"For me its not a normal accident case sir," Anurag said.

"Well I know, chief minister's son has died in it and he don't want to run this case further. In the time of elections, he don't want to malign his image." Mr Sinha stated with a cold sigh.

"But sir his son has died," Anurag said.

"Died while drinking and driving!

If this matter comes out in public, he would have to face a lot of repercussions from political parties. Well he is already facing it because of some news reporters. So he don't want this case to go ahead" Mr.Sinha said.

"At Least listen to my point sir, Because I have got some proofs,

It wasn't a normal car accident. I think It was a well-planned accident. To kill the man in that car." Anurag said.

"How can you say it so Anurag?" Mr Sinha looked at him questioningly.

"Because of this"

Anurag opened the file and gave it to Mr Sinha.

"I have found some footprints there"

Anurag started stating the points.

"And you found out about it? " Mr Sinha said.

"No not yet, but it shows that someone was following the car as you can see the green car behind it managing a proper time distance but I doubt that it was following with a wrong intention sir and it might have harmed the car, these are the CCTV footages of the highway, the victim car which ends up in an accident and the other behind it later vanished somewhere "

Anurag cursed himself mentally for not being clear.

"Where the other car went?" Mr Sinha put his point.

"I don't know sir but the car behind it might have changed its route" Anurag was interrupted by Mr Sinha again.

"It doesn't prove anything."

Mr Sinha shook his head.

"How can you say it, sir? " Anurag tried to argue.

"Because you have lack in proofs and I am getting pressurized from upper positions, we can't do anything. This case has been shut now!" Mr Sinha said firmly.

"But sir" Anurag tried to convince.

"Enough Anurag, I am here to tell you that you are appointed as a trainer to our new detective agency department at Dehradun. This is your transfer letter, you can join there from tomorrow"

Mr.Sinha kept the letter on the table. Anurag picked it up. He wasn't upset knowing he was transferred to another city but as a trainer when he felt himself being a strong CID officer. He knew can't do anything about it.

"Sir at least give me a chance"

"I think I'm done with my part Anurag. You may leave now"Mr.Sinha said and opened his laptop.

"Its Detective Anurag" He got up saying it and grabbed the paper.

He walked towards the exit feeling angry.

He was convinced himself that the case might have been not like what he was seeing it. But somewhere in his mind he wasn't accepting it. He left the head office with a heavy heart.

After reaching at his apartment, he felt like giving up.

He started thinking about how his life has been changed.

After shifting to Delhi, he had to fight with his parents. When they were against this job for poor salary, he had no choice left but to leave his home. Now he was feeling hurt as in this department nobody was willing to listen to him.

He trusted himself being a good detective but he didn't like Mr.Sinha's attitude. It wasn't the first time that happened before this his most of the cases were abruptly shut.

Sometimes because of the power of politicians, sometimes because of the lack of evidence. He was chided with the situation. In the era of bribe, he was the single person who was doing his work with utmost hard work and loyalty. But seems like Delhi wasn't suitable for him.

Now a new destination was awaiting for him holding lots of mysteries inside the womb of North India.

Dehradun!

After a week

Dehradun

A pain surged through her body when she tried to move. She could feel the pinching sensation of a needle stabbing her skin. She winced.

A whimper let out of her mouth when she felt her joints contracting. Her eyes slowly opened, detaching her messed lashes. She could see a blurred figure in front of her. Slowly her vision became clear and saw a man sighing out a smile.

"Who are you? " She asked lowly whimpering in a pain.

"I'm your husband, Aryan," He said and leaned closer to her face. Her heartbeats paced up rapidly, her eyes widened and darkness appeared in front of her eyes again.
