2-Meet my family.

Ellery's POV

I HURRIEDLY walked down the stairs of the stage when I saw him, waiting for me to get down after taking my last medal. I am the magna cum laude in our class. I am on the last step when I slip off my feet. I thought I’ll embarrass myself, but Luke was so fast he immediately catches me before I knockdown to the floor.

“Hey… Easy…” He gently said as he helps me get into my balance. “Why were you in a rush?

I blushed. Gosh! I’m so obvious!

“I thought you couldn’t come?” I asked him before I got swallowed by embarrassment.

“How would I miss this important day of your life? I know how much did you prepare for this day.” And he handed me the beautiful bouquet. “For you. Congratulations! You made it.

I took the flowers and jumped over him to hug him so tightly. I know he got surprised because I felt he got stunned, but he hugged me too.

The program went on, but I didn’t come back to my seat. It was almost over. I will just wait for the closing statement as I stand here beside Luke. We chat a lot until the program finished.

“Let’s go to my parents. I’ll introduce you to them.” I grabbed Luke’s arm as I guide him to where my parents are. I was so excited that I didn’t notice that Luke got stunned again. He was just walking on my guidance.

“Elle, where have you been?

“We’ve been looking for you?” my parents asked.

Behind them was my eldest sister. Actually, she is my half-sister that I didn’t want to see. I hate her. Not because she is the daughter of my Dad on his first wife who died already. But because she also hates me. She just pretended that she loves and adores me in front of my parents, but she would take off the mask she was wearing in front of them if we were alone. I wished my other older sister came, instead of her. But I know she wouldn’t. She couldn’t. Our parents disowned her already when she let herself get pregnant before she graduated from college. She is the only friend I had inside our family.

“And you brought someone?” my Dad added that pulled me back into my senses.

“Oh…” I looked behind my back. “Mom, Dad, this is Luke. My good friend.

I felt dismayed as I introduced him to my parents. I am starting to develop a different feeling towards him as the days have gone by. And I wanted to introduce him, not just a friend but someone special to me.

Luke extended a hand in front of my parents. “Nice to meet you, Sir Madam. And… Hello there, Lindsay?

“Oh, you know our firstborn?

Just like Dad, I’m surprised that Luke knows my witch of a sister.

“We’re schoolmates, Dad. And that guy was so madly in love with me.” The witch said.

“Hey, Lindsay?” Dad scolded her.

And she even had the guts to put my Luke into embarrassment? It was a good thing that Luke was good at handling the situation. He just smiled. I thought he would say that he just admired her because of what she had become. Lindsay was now a commercial model. She had her own car and a great job. But she didn’t want to live separately from us. And I know why. Because it was her happiness to pissed me off while showing our parents how good of a daughter and sister she was. She is a classic bitch!

But I was so surprised by the next thing Luke said.

“She was right, Sir. I wouldn’t deny it. I love your daughter. So much. She used to reject me. But that doesn’t mean that I will stop loving her.

I was so shocked by the confession. This is my day. I should be the one who was happy and rejoicing. But seeing my evil sister slyly smile at me, I couldn’t help but felt really dismayed. And the other thing that made me feel so down is this revelation.

I dreamed of hearing Luke say those words to my parents. But then, this confession was not meant for me. I don’t even know that Lindsay and Luke knew each other.

I knew that I've fallen for him deeply, even for a short period. Not just because of his handsome face or wonderful scent, but because my heart beats for him for no definite reason. I even had the guts of planning to confess to him. Only to find out that he had someone in his heart already. Someone that I know who can't love him as much as he does. Because that wicked sister of mine did not know what love means. She only loves fame and money.

“Good to see you here, Luke. How are you?” Lindsay sweetly greeted Luke while smiling wickedly at me. I know this bitch was planning something on me. “How did you meet my baby sister?” She even put stress on the word baby sister.

“Well…” Luke started to tell the story that I wouldn’t want to share with Lindsay.

Dad invited Luke to come with us to our house to celebrate with us. And Luke gladly accepted.

“I brought my car. I’ll just follow you the way.” Said Luke.

“I’ll come with you and I will show the way.” Lindsay offered.

I was about to object, but Dad had already agreed. I couldn’t do anything but zipped my mouth. I saw the smile of victory on Lindsay’s thin lips. I hate her so much! I really do!

If she thinks she will win over me, then she must think again.
