Chapter Five

“Nixon, did you got up on y-your bed last night, huh?

“You tried to f-fool me, right? You think I’m that stupid?

“Wake up, you idiot. I know, you’re playing in unconscious.

I was whispering those to Nixon here! But silence replied to me in this four walls—so how did he do that last night? Or somebody did it and played me dumb! Tsk, right. Maybe, that was it!

“Hah, crazy.” I was merely talking to this half-dead man here and hoping he opened her eyes and tell me that everything was just a figment of my imagination. How crazy that was! But he was indeed in coma, for Pete’s sake! How could it be possible for this unconscious man to get up and waste his time bugging me?

I nodded several times while still standing up beside his bed. Somebody did that when I was away with Bell that night! I would surely request for a cctv footage from the hallway to my apartment. I’d sued that bastard if I’d caught him!

Are his family that busy? How could he be..so alone here? I mean, aside from the bodyguard standing outside his room—there were no special visitors for a man like Nixon.

“What? Still, she didn’t believe me!” Urg! I spent time in writing those paragraphs in her diary—tried to be good at least in writing! I was here behind her back as she started doing her usual medical works.

Wait!

I needed to do something again, right? Hmm.. I slowly pulled her pen out from his uniform’s pocket and a piece of a paper. Then, I kicked this chair—so it moved! She stared at the chair but failed to see it moved—I knew she was hell scared.

Damn. But she seemed not! She let herself busy checking my vitals. I slowly pulled this white blanket that covered my body and so she’d saw it clearly.

Her eyes owled. I smiled. There—I finally caught her attention.

“W-What the hell..” She mumbled those and I started writing on this piece of paper I also stole from his pocket.

Hey, Ella! This is really Nixon Brook’s ghost. You should believe me.

“No.. f***ing way.” She was reading the lines and stepped backward, away from my bed. The paper and pen surely looked like floating in the air leveled in her eyes—for her to see and read clearly. “I’m still..d-drunk, am I not?” Urg! I frowned now. Still, she did not believe that I was really real! Okay, how about this, Ella?

I got her stethoscope and wrote again. This is your stethoscope! Uh, what else? Ah, right! I pushed the hospital bed forward. I’m pushing this hospital bed where my body layed to. See it? Then I pushed it back. Pulled and pushed again. Now, I will rotate the bed clockwise, Ella.

“S-Stop it! Stop.. I..I believe y-you now!” She finally yelled out. I smiled. Alright, she now believed me huh? Her face looked more dreadful looking around the room—trying to catch my shadow, maybe.

“W-Why are you still alive, Nixon? You should stay at peace.” What! This is.. Urg! I wanted to tape that filthy mouth of hers—I helped her last night! How could she hated me this much when I did not do anything to her.

YOU AND YOUR CRUELTY. I SAVED YOUR A*S LAST NIGHT, DIDN’T I? That was really written in bold letters! I wanted her to understood that I was not an enemy—we need each other to live life again.

“I could have handled it very well last night even without your ghostly helped. Now, excuse me—I think you need to rest eternally.” She picked her pen and paper then walked out the room. Whoa! She was the most stubborn woman ever! I would never date such woman like her—cruel and too conceited!

“You have ten days left, Nixon Brooks.” The lady is here! Thanked goodness, I had to asked a lot of questions to her and I wished her to make me live again!

“Please, lady—I need to be alive again! I did not wished ever to be a ghost! And that woman, Ella was so tenacious. She did not want to cooperate!” She must pray harder by this time—coz if I’d finally woke up from this? Hah! God knows what I could to her mouth!

“After ten days. If you failed to saved Ella—you would be dead.” What? No way!

“How to save that woman when she hated every man on this planet?” I didn’t really understand—but that after ten days, I did! I got it and I wouldn’t allow that. I had so much plans ahead my life, you know—I gotta travel more and build a bigger, stronger empire! My purpose here in this world had not finished yet.

I need to live!

Also, I needed to fire treacherous bastards out from my company!

“You need to save her for you to live—teach her, Nixon.” Jeez! Then she swiftly vanished in front of my eyes—wait!

“Lady! I need you to bring back my life this instant!” I was feeling the stress now. I wanna lived!

“Ten days left, Nixon. Or you lose your chance to live.” Her voice echoed inside the room and then finally machine’s coming from the oxygen invaded the room. This was too stressful! I never felt this in my entire life—every day, I gave stress to others but not me. I always lived the best comfortable life! I never get stressed—but now?

Ten days left, Nixon. Or you lose your chance to live. That’s absurd!

But do I have another option? Guess, this was one of many things that my richest can’t afford, huh? To bribe for my life! I went out the room and was planning to coaxed that stubborn woman but I was in my mansion’s premises, specifically in my oval pool. Oh thanked God!

Everything’s organized, clean, and silent. Well, I saw my workers doing their usual jobs. Good. My Lamborghini cars where all present at my huge garage. One got missing, actually. That one I drove during the accident. I walked and heeded upstairs in my room. Two maids with food trays on their hands descended—who were they serving when I was not here yet?

I checked every room, every area, until I reached my own master’s bedroom and found out that Titus was sleeping inside with..Mariza? F**k!

“What are you both doing here in my mansion—in my f***ing room!” I shouted to them but damn it! Mariza was my present fling that turned out to be not in remorse—now I see. And you see this bastard Titus? I knew from the start he was bloody acting at the hospital because that was there! He wanted something from dad now that I was idle—on bed—dying after ten days.

F**k this life! I grabbed the vase but..couldn’t! No way, what’s wrong? I just did it back at the hospital.
