Chapter Twenty Six

Ryder POV:

I headed to the clubhouse the next day, to get some clean clothes for Samuel, seeing he refused to leave his girls' sides. He is more attentive to them both now.

It's a damn shame, though, that it took this for him to treat his daughters equally.

But the point is, he learned from his mistakes.

Some of the club members are setting up Sarah and Lana's old rooms for them but the rest are at the hospital with the girls.

Adam had told Lana he had brought in backup when he caught word of my release so the girls are staying here while we figure out who he recruited.

Sarah was being released at the end of the day after a few more test and Lana should be out the next or the day after.

As I zipped up the duffel with Samuel's clothes, I heard a knock on the door.

"Hannah?" I asked when I saw the red headed woman on the other side.

Oh God. My past coming to haunt me once again.

Hannah was a woman I dated for years before I got locked up. What is she doing here.

"Ryder, hey. I heard about the twins. How are they?" She asked me.

I had no idea what to say. I never expected to see her of all people show up here after things ended between us.

Lana POV:

"Just a couple more steps, Lana, then we can get you some lunch." A nurse told me as she lead me back to my bed.

It was a little tough to walk at the moment but I was doing better with the physical therapy. I'd been here for two days but the doctors and nurses said I was healing quickly.

Ryder still hadn't come back. He's been gone for a while. He had offered to bring dad some clean clothes to wear but that was hours ago.

"You did great, Lana. How is the pain?" The nurse asked. "Better. Feels like a giant bruise now. Nothing I can't handle." I replied.

"Great. You'll be out of here in no time." She reassured me with a smile.

Ryder POV:

"Hannah.. I didn't expect to see you here." I told her. "I still have a few friends here and I came as soon as I heard. How are they?" She asked me.

"They're okay. Sarah is being released this evening and Lana should be out in a day or two." I replied. "That's great! I'd love to see them." Hannah told me.

"Well... I'm headed there now if you want to join me." I said. Why did I say that? I don't want her to get the wrong idea here.

"That would be wonderful." She said with a big smile on her face.

Here we go.

I walked into Lana's hospital room, the duffel in my hand.

"Took ya long enough." Samuel said, taking the bag from me.

"Lana! Sarah!" Hannah cheered, happily.

Lana POV:

"Hannah?" I asked. What is she doing here?

"I heard what happened to the two of you. I came to see how you were. What happened?" She asked.

"We were kidnapped." Sarah said, uncomfortably.

"Oh, my God. I'm so sorry." She said and hugged us both. "I'm so glad you girls are okay, though. It's great to see you." She continued.

Why was Ryder hanging back? He usually gave me a kiss when he came in. He looked nervous. Why?

"Ryder, you okay?" I asked. He smiled softly at me before replying. "I'm good."

I then looked at Hannah, who was looking back to Ryder. She wasn't over him... And he didn't exactly look over her either.

"Ryder, do you think I could talk to you alone?" Hannah asked.

My heart sank at those words.

"Um, sure. I guess." He told her leading her out of the room.

"What the hell?" Kade asked quietly. "What the hell is he thinking?" Sarah asked.

I looked down and saw my hands shaking. I was scared.. What if he did still have feelings for her? What if seeing her brought all those feelings back? I know he meant what he said when he told me he loved me. Could he still love her as well, though?
