Chapter Eight

Lana POV:

It had been a couple of weeks since Cole and I had started seeing each other. We had already spent a couple of nights together but I had kept that little detail to myself.

I don't see much of Ryder anymore. He and my father have both distanced

themselves from me and I hated it.

If dad didn't have a favorite then, he sure as hell does now. He dotes on Sarah and completely ignores me and it hurts like hell.

Sarah, on the other hand was over the moon about my relationship. She wants to go on a double date with Cole and I soon. It wasn't really a bad idea to be honest.

I walked downstairs and found Ryder, Sarah and dad at the kitchen table for breakfast.

"Morning." I said. Sarah looked up and smiled.

"Morning, sis. Have you thought more about that double date?" She asked. "I have and I would really love that." I said, making her smile brighter. "Great!"

"I was going to go for a jog, dad. Would you like to come?" I asked, hopefully. "I have work to do." He said before walking by me.

I felt tears well in my eyes before closing them tightly, making sure they didn't fall.

I looked back at Sarah and I could tell he had pissed her off.

I looked a Ryder and glared at him.

"It's been two weeks and you guys are still treating me like a stranger. This isn't fair and you know it." I said.

"Life isn't fair, sweetheart. If you weren't out being a who-" I cut him off with a slap across his face.

"To think, you were actually my friend once. I was such an idiot." I said as I finally let my tears fall.

I'd had enough of this. I stormed upstairs, grabbed a suit case and started to throw my clothes in it.

"Where are you going?" Sarah asked as she stood in the doorway.

"I can't stay here anymore." I said as I let out a small sob. "Dad thinks I'm a disgrace and Ryder thinks I'm a whore. I can't be here. It hurts too much." I continued.

"Do you want me to come with you?" Sarah asked making me smile lightly at her. "I need to be alone for a while. I'm going to check into a motel for a few days and look for an apartment." I said and walked back downstairs with my suitcase in my hand.

"Are you leaving?" Ryder asked. "Why so you care? I'm just a whore in your eyes, right?" I asked, causing his face to fall.

"Don't worry, Ryder. You won't have to put up with me any longer. I won't be back unless it is to get the rest of my shit." I said, slamming the front door behind me.

Ryder POV:

I barged into Samuel's office.

"Lana packed her shit and left." I said, panicking.

I never should have treated her the way I did and it took this to make me see it.

"Why?" Samuel asked.

"Why so you think! Because of us! Because of the way we've been treating her!" I yelled.

"Don't forget I'm your superior, Ryder." Samuel said, warningly. "So you don't care? What kind of a father are you?" I asked gritting my teeth. "I won't say it again." He replied stalking closer to me. "Eat me." I said before leaving his office.

"Where is she going?" I asked her sister when I caught her walking out of the kitchen.

"That's none of your fucking business. After the way you treated her, I don't blame her for leaving. You called her a whore, you stupid son of a bitch! She cries every night because you two are so fucking selfish! So you know what, Ryder Donovan?" She yelled.

"What?"

"You never should have come back here. You've caused my sister nothing but pain since you've been here and if I ever see your face in this house again.." she said pointing to a baseball bat hanging by the door.

"I bash your skull in with that. Now leave and don't let me see your face here again." She said in a low threatening tone.

"Sarah, stop this." Samuel said. "Oh, go to hell, old man! You're just as bad as Ryder! You're both sorry pieces of shit!" She said before leaving and slamming the door behind her.

"She threatened to bash my skull in with a baseball bat if I ever came back here." I told Samuel. "Empty threat. Don't worry about it." That's the thing.. I am worried. I know those girls.

Lana POV:

"Did you follow me?" I asked as I let Sarah into the room.

She ignored the question and sat on the bed. "Let's get a place together. We're adults about to graduate college so.."

"Really? You do that?" I asked, hopefully. "We're twins and best friends. I don't think I could go more than one day without your crazy ass." She said and laughed.
