Chapter 3

For the next week, because there were no classes, Jenna stayed in her room and did not go out. Every night, she had the same dream as if she was possessed.

Jenna felt like she was going crazy!

[In the Hancher family.]

Early in the morning, Jenna went downstairs to the living room.

At this point, Gavin was sitting on the sofa opposite her. Seeing his straight face, Jenna knew something bad would happen to her. She walked over and called out to him. "Uncle Hancher."

Then there was a loud bang.

A stack of documents fell in front of Jenna. "Take a look for yourself!"

Jenna bent down to pick them up and saw a medical report. The words at the end of the report were clear, which read "Anal fissure."

"Jenna, I always thought you were sensible, so I have trusted you and seldom disciplined you. But I didn't expect you would do such a thing to Mr. Sandgren!" As Gavin spoke, his face gradually became twisted with anger.

"No matter what he did to you, he will be your husband. His mother called me this morning and told me that Mr. Sandgren did that to you because he wanted to have a good relationship with you. He might not be successful, but he is the only child. If you marry him, you won't be short of anything. How could you..."

Jenna, aggrieved at first, was disappointed and heartbroken.

Ever since she was a child, Gavin would blame her first no matter what had happened.

Jenna lowered her head with red eyes, not to let him see her expression. She clenched her fists and said no to Gavin for the first time in her life.

"Uncle Hancher, I don't want to marry him. He's a scumbag!"

Gavin was shocked and furious. "Didn't I make it clear enough for you? You don't get a say in your marriage. Your marriage with Mr. Sandgren was decided by me long ago, and it is cast in stone."

Jenna forced her tears back and said, "Uncle Hancher, I don't want to marry him."

Ever since she moved in, she had been obedient and even servile. However, such a life where she could never make her own decision was driving her crazy!

Both of them turned silent.

Gavin's face gradually became gloomy. He looked at Jenna, frowning, for a long time and said, "Jenna, I have supported you for more than ten years. You can't refuse me."

Jenna's heart sank.

"Get her back to her room. Don't let her come out without my permission. When she straightens out her thinking and admits her mistake, I'll take her to the Sandgren family personally to apologize."

Jenna jerked up her head, tears in her eyes. "I didn't do anything wrong. Why should I apologize to him?"

Gavin had already turned around and walked up the stairs. "Because you're a member of the Hancher family."

Two tall men, one on the left and the other on the right, carried Jenna back to her room and locked her in spite of her resistance.

Jenna was roughly thrown into the room and staggered a few steps. Being stubborn, the minute she stood still, she turned around and threw herself on the door, pounding hard.

"Open the door!"

"Open the door! I didn't make a mistake. Why do you lock me up?"

"I'm a human being, not a pet of this family. Why should I be locked up?!"

The loud bangs sounded and became more intense.

She hammered the door with fists while shouting at the top of her voice, her lips trembling.

All these years, she had been convincing herself that Gavin had brought her into the Hancher family because he loved her.

But now she realized that it wasn't the case! He didn't even love her at least!

Just then, the next door opened with a bang, and a low, hoarse, and slightly unpleasant male voice sounded.

"It's very noisy."

Jenna's hand on the door paused.

It was... Eason?

In the corridor, Eason narrowed his eyes and walked to Jenna's door with a gloomy face. He reached out to the two guards and said in a deep voice, "Give me the key."

The guard was frightened by his gloomy expression and took a few steps back. He hesitated, "Mr. Hancer, this is the order of... Ah!" Before he could finish speaking, Eason kicked him.

The other guard shuddered.

Everyone knew that Eason had a bad temper and was always angry when he got up. At this moment, they would probably...

Therefore, the other guard immediately handed over the key when Eason reached his hand, his eyes half-close.

Eason walked to the door. As he opened the door, he casually ordered the two guards who were about to run away. "Tell the old man. If he locks her up again, and she disturbs me, I don't mind letting him know how bad-tempered I can be."

When he opened the door, Eason saw Jenna jump out of the door.

Her face was pale, her lips were trembling, and her eyes were red. She looked so pitiful.

"Thank you, Eason." She thanked him through gritted teeth, raising her hand to close the door.
