Chapter 5

To be perfectly honest, when I picked Felicity up out of the rain, I wasn't even thinking about the bet. I wasn't thinking that it would get her closer to me, all I was thinking about was if she was okay. But now, I was worried that I hadn't done enough to kickstart this relationship. I had one month to get her to want to spend time with me. When an idea popped into my head. A small white lie could get me further than expected.

Parking the car again, I jumped out and jogged up to her door, grumbling discreetly as the rain hit me again. I knocked on the door, internally grinning at my amazing plan, and waited for her to answer it impatiently.

The door suddenly opened and I looked up, surprised that she answered so fast. She finally blurted out, after staring at me in shock for a couple of seconds.

"My car broke down." I shrugged, lying coolly. "So I can't go. Not yet, at least."

Gaping at me in shock, she stood still with nothing to say, so I walked into the living room casually, looking around her house.

"So what now?" She asked as she followed me in, still surprised at my nonchalance.

I slumped down onto the couch, sighing as I made myself comfortable. "I guess I'm staying here." I smirked.

She looked at me with wide eyes. "You can't just walk into my house and act like you live here!" She exclaimed, irritation building itself up in her features.

Amusement flooded into me as I watched her tiny fists curl up in rage. I looked around and shrugged. "I just did."

She groaned falling back against the wall tiredly. "Listen, only because I'm too tired and cold to argue, and because I have a nice heart, you can stay over." She muttered, making me sit up in glee. "But!" She continued sticking up her index finger. "You are leaving tomorrow and we will never speak of this again." She threatened.

I smirked shrugging. "Sure, why not."

Letting out a small nod of satisfaction, she moved the wet strands of hair away from her face. "I'm going to take a shower." She grumbled as she turned to leave. "I'll get you some of Liam's clothes after, then you can shower or do whatever you want." She waved me off, clearly unbothered.

"Who's Liam?" I asked curiously.

"My brother." She yawned as she left the room. I nodded and turned on her TV, staring at it absentmindedly as she trudged upstairs muttering to herself, probably about me.

Waiting until I heard the bathroom door close, I jumped up deciding to snoop around her house. Slowly creeping up the stairs, I stopped silently to check the shower was definitely on, before looking for her room. My eyes quickly caught onto a door with childish letter stickers spelling out her name on the door.

Stepping closer towards it, I chuckled as I saw the white creases around the edges, making it clear that she had tried, and failed, to pick them off. I pushed the door open and walked inside, quietly looking around.

Her room was a complete mess. Her pale purple walls were decorated with messily placed glow-in-the-dark stickers and there were three bookshelves practically overflowing with books. Her chest of drawers were half open with clothes sticking out of them, and there were a couple of abandoned cups left in various places.

Turning back to the book shelves, my eyes narrowed slightly as I caught sight of a book that was sticking out. I walked over to it and tilted my head as I saw that it was different to all the others. There was no writing on the spine of the book, and it seemed to be a diary. My curiosity got the better of me and I disregarded the morals of privacy as I pulled the book out. Opening it to the first page.

Z&F

Together forever

A small gasp of shock escaped my lips, at the familiarity of the initials and I traced my thumb over the delicate engraving 'Zeus and Felicity'. I whispered, before shaking my head and stuffing the box back in the shelf. No way. That had to just be some coincidence, loads of people had names beginning with Z and F. But why did Felicity have this?

Hoping to find some sort of clue, I looked back at the book and skimmed through the first page, when the room's door suddenly opened. I shoved the book back in the shelf, turning to face the door to see Felicity walking in and shutting the door behind her. My eyes widened in shock as they caught onto her body with only a towel wrapped around her.

She turned away from her door, her gaze immediately meeting mine, before she jumped in horror. "Oh my gosh!" She screeched, holding the towel even tighter.

Instantly feeling guilty, I looked at the floor, slightly uncharacteristically. "Damn..." I muttered, as I shut my eyes.

"What the heck are you doing in here?" She hissed, her eyes widening as she looked around at the mess in the room and the clothes on the floor. "Get out!" She squealed.

I chuckled nervously and raised my hands in surrender, before walking out of the room, still keeping my eyes trailed away from her. Letting out a breath of relief, I relaxed for a second, only to jump as I heard the door get slammed behind me, followed by a string of high pitched squeal of frustration. I stood awkwardly in the hallway, facing away from her room as I rubbed the back of my head.

The door soon burst open, facing a furious looking and fully dressed Felicity stalking out. I offered an apologetic smile, but she came forward pushed me roughly, making me step back in surprise. "Why would you go in my room?!" She whined, sounding more worried than she was afraid.

I gulped discreetly, worried that she knew I had been scooping in her room. "What do you mean?" I asked, hiding my nerves.

She gritted her teeth in frustration. "What if I had walked in naked?" She hissed slowly.

I relaxed instantly, letting out a breath that I hadn't realized I was holding. Stuffing my hands in my pocket, I smirked, recovering my casual posture. "Then I would have had a great day."

Her expression dropped to disbelief and she shook her head, muttering about how she was stupid for letting me stay. "I hate you." She grumbled, before walking into another room and leaving me standing alone in the hall.

"Where did you go?" I asked, feeling awkward once again.

"Here." She nodded, shoving a folded towel, some sweats and a t-shirt into my hands. I stumbled back with wide eyes from the force. "Go!" She muttered. "Take a shower if you want to, I'll get the spare room ready for you." She grumbled.

I nodded and walked into her bathroom, stripping myself of the damp clothes I had on and stepping into the shower. I found myself thinking Felicity's angry little face. I was wrong about her being boring.
