Chapter 7

"Zeus!" A voice screeched my name. "Zeus, we're going to be late!"

I sighed as I heard Felicity's voice again, remembering where I was before I climbed out of bed, rubbing my eyes lazily. "I'm coming in!" She threatened. "Okay?"

I caught her by surprise making her stumble forward into my bare chest. My smirk resurfaced as I felt her face heat up against me and I watched in amusement as she moved away quickly, avoiding eye contact.

"Why are you half naked?" she muttered as I did my best to hold in my chuckle.

"Why?" I asked coyly. "Like what you see, darling?"

She turned to me angrily. "Do not call me that." She muttered.

My smirk merely grew as I leaned against the door frame casually. "Okay, princess."

She rolled her eyes and ignored me. "Get dressed." She ordered, shoving a pair of jeans and a shirt into my arms. "You have ten minutes to get ready and eat something, and then we leave. You sleep so much!" She groaned.

"You could have woken me up earlier." I called out as she turned and started to run down the stairs.

"I did!" She yelled back. "Three times! But your lazy butt didn't get up once!"

"Hurry up!" Felicity yelled from the front door.

"I'm coming!" I yelled back, quickly grabbing an apple from her fruit bowl and rushing to her. "Okay, let's go." I grinned.

She rolled her eyes and shoved me outside, making me stumble down the path. As she followed me out, slamming the door behind her. "Why so rough?" I whined.

"Shut up!" She waved me off as she started to run down the road.

I groaned loudly, running after her unwillingly. "What's the rush?" I groaned.

"We are going to be late." She muttered, taking some change out of her pocket. "Damn!" She yelled of a sudden.

Sighing in annoyance, I looked up following her. She came to a stop as we watched the bus leave and threw her head back to groan in annoyance. I bit back an obvious grin as she turned to glare at me. She turned to me, completely fuming and shoved me in the chest. I stumbled backwards, no longer being able to contain my laughter.

"This is all your fault!
" She yelled, anger filling her face.

"Calm down." I laughed. "It's oka-"

"No!" She interrupted. "I will not calm down! This is not funny." She whined, hitting me again.

I grabbed her hands quickly, making her freeze and stare up at me in shock. "Calm down." I said again, this time slower than before.

"Screw you." She hissed, turning around, trying to find something to help us out.

I smirked at the easy opportunity, leaning in next to her ear from behind. "Anytime, babe." I whispered.

She spun around to glare at me, horrified, and raised her hand to hit me again, but I stepped back quickly, amusement dripping from my features. "Okay. Sorry! Sorry!" I laughed.

"What are we going to do now?" She groaned.

Shrugging casually, I kicked a small pebble. "Ditch?" I suggested.

"You have no idea how close I am throwing you in one." She hissed, making my eyes widen in surprise and amusement.

"Wow you really want to get to school on time." I laughed.

"This is important." She nodded in frustration.

I knew that I could take us in my car, and we would get there just about on time, but then I would completely blow my cover. Sighing softly, I looked down the street, when I suddenly remembered who lived near here.

I grabbed Felicity's hand and pulled her with me, as I ran down the road towards their address. She squealed loudly as she stumbled to keep up with me.

"What the heck! Where are we going?!" She yelled, as I grinned and kept running.

"My cousin's house." I yelled back, dragging her on until we reached his house in the next block.

"Okay, wait here." I told her, at the end of his driveway. She nodded and sighed.

I jogged up to the door, ringing the door bell multiple times, waiting for my cousin to come. The door flew open, and I grinned as I was greeted with a face of annoyance, but as he saw it was me, he broke out into a grin and pulled me into a hug.

"Hey Zeus." He laughed, clapping my back. "Aren't you meant to be in school?"

I pulled away from him sheepishly. "Yes, about that..."

His face twisted into concern and he hummed in disapproval. "Did you drop out?! That's not a good idea." He scolded.

I shook my head. "No, I just..." I gestured to Felicity, who was looking around the neighborhood awkwardly. "My car, broke down and we missed the bus. Can I use your bike."

He peered around to look at her. "Who is she?" He asked, a coy smile on his face as leaned into the house to retrieve the bike keys.

"Well, she's a .. friend?" I stammered, not knowing what to call her.

He raised an eyebrow uncertainly. "She looks familiar." He muttered. "Where have I seen her before?"

"She goes to our school." I muttered. "Can I please just take the bike?"

He sighed, handling the keys over to me. "Be careful with it. And with her!" He added on as I took them gratefully.

"Yes, thanks!" I waved off, rushing back up to Felicity. "Bye!"

"Come on, let's go!"

"Thank God.
Where's the car?" She asked, smiling innocently.

"Oh, yes about that." I trailed off as I pulled her over to my cousin Evan's motorbike. "It's a bike." I offered her a helmet as I brushed off the bike, but she didn't take it so I turned to look at her, to see her gaping at the bike with stubborn eyes.

"No way." She spat. "I am not getting on that."

"Felicity, it's this, or being really late."

She pursed her lips as she clenched her fists, debating with herself on whether she's get on it, before I finally nodding and grabbing the helmet. "Okay, fine!" She blurted out. "Let's go before I change my mind." She said quickly.

"Hold on tight!" I smirked.

Even without seeing her, I could almost feel her roll her eyes, but as soon as I started the engine, she grabbed onto me and wrapped her arms around me tightly.

Her grip on me tightened as I drove faster and I felt something in my stomach flutter with nerves. Somehow, someway, she was making me feel different to how any other girl had made me feel. And here I was, not even knowing her for two days. It was as if we shared an instant connection.

Pushing the feeling away, I kept driving, way over the speed limit, until we finally reached school. I parked the bike, feeling the stares of the school on us as they clearly tried to figure out who the girl on the back of the bike was. Pulling off my helmet, I moved to stand up, when I suddenly realized that Felicity was still holding onto me.

"Sweetheart?" I asked, smirking.

"Hmmm?" She mumbled. I could tell she still had her eyes squeezed shut and hadn't even noticed we had stopped.

"Do you want to stay like this the whole day, or?"

Immediately she let go of me, and jumped off the bike. "S-sorry." She stuttered, before pulling off the helmet and shoving it into my hands. I smirked as she started to stumble away, before realizing that the whole school was staring at her.

She covered her face, as it went pink in embarrassment and jogged away faster as more and more people turned to look at her.

Even if she didn't know it yet, definitely getting closer to winning the bet.
