🔯Chapter Five🔯

Lili had never been so proud while looking at her daughters playing their wands and casting spells naturally. Rosy was also eyeing at her sister outside the window.

“Chelo, I’ll make your hair pretty. Eshi tambra de ul ti!” Mia casted it perfectly. Chelo’s curly hair was neatly tied in a bun. Chelo checked herself in the mirror and she liked it. “Oh, wow!” She thought she’d picked this hairstyle during the performance in the High Hall.

“Now, I fix your dirty clothes, Mia. Eshi estabu de ul tim rah!” She turned around and casted a spell to Mia. Her twin sister’s messy dress turned clean and turned brand new.

Rosy clapped her hands for those were exquisite casting of spells from her sisters. “Why, they don’t need training, Widow.” She said. Widow was settling herself in the window and also watching the two sisters playing their spells. “My sisters are already great.. I am proud of them to represent our family.” She turned around and had forgotten her idea earlier to ask her sisters to train her.

Widow crawled on Rosy’s arm and they both went to the back door. “I am glad they now can clean their own mess and not to rely on you. They can fix their hair, clothes and why not their own dishes? Or even cook food themselves!” Well, Widow blurted those on-point words.

Rosy shrugged her shoulder while ascending the stairs back to her room.

“Maybe because, I am the youngest and it’s my duty to serve my elders?” Rosy answered but Widow just simply disagreed her reply.

“Silly, Rosy! That’s because they despise you being you—you all knew that.” Widow just couldn’t help not to be blatant with her words now. After all what they said to Rosy? She witnessed it since the day Rosy was born!

“Don’t be mad, Widow. I know, really. But you see, I don’t know how I tended that deer last days. If only I could figure it out again..” She closed the door and sat on her old wooden bed. Widow was clearly mad against Lili and her sisters but chose not to say any words and crawled back to her cozy web on the ceiling.

The next day, as Rosy just finished cleaning the house’s chimney. Lots of chores were in line for her to do. Her two sisters always let Rosy did every tiny task in the house, actually, Rosy seemed their servant with free of service.

“Rosy! Come down here,” Lili called with impatience and annoyance. Even without reasons. While Chelo and Mia were busy messing the living room just after Rosy cleaned it.

“Yes, mother.” Rosy hastily went down with all the dirt and dust on her face.

Lili, her mother handed a piece of paper. “Buy all these in the market.” Spices and other stuffs.

“Yes, mother.” Rosy took it. She went upstairs to fix herself first before going out. It was almost autumn season and the wind started blowing chilly air around Enkanta Valley.

“Hurry!” Her mother yelled.

Enkanta’s small and busy market with rushing people around that hastily buy their needs caused this mixed of fishy and awful smell. Maybe because some vendors kept selling rotten and old ones and bothered not to disposed it.

“Spices over here!”

“Fresh meat, fresh meat—for silver coins only!”

Vendors were shouting their goods. She took her silver coins and placed those fresh spices on her mother’s list.

“Here please,” She gave her silver coins to the old lady and then noticed this old flyer sticked on the wooden post just beside the vendor’s stand.

“Oh, may I read the flyer?” Rosy asked the old lady’s permission.

“Of course, you can take it yourself. We have lots of those posted here.” Replied as the old lady’s attention was back on her merchandise. Rosy took the flyer and closely looked on the hand-written details.

“Why, thank you.” She said and slowly walked away, back to her home.

Do you want to be the greatest witch?

Witch Master is looking for an apprentice!

Reach for this address: Busy Street, Market Road, Sparsha.

Look for: Dwarfy

Hurry, limited only and be one of the greatest!

A smile plastered on Rosy’s face. Why, the fate just exactly knew what she needed, huh? “Hmm, the witch master? In the Kingdom of Sparsha,” Murmured with escalating hopes that finally, she’d be able to train and hone her skills in magic and spell! She returned home happily but didn’t plan to tell her mother and sisters about it. She exactly knew their response.

In the evening, Rosy prepared all the necessary things that she might use in her journey to Sparsha. That would be a long journey, crossing seven mountains from Enkanta was seriously far.

“I don’t know, but I don’t feel good about your plan, Rosy.” Widow said while swinging on her sticky thread. Rosy already told her plan to Widow as soon as she arrived from the market and Widow clearly disliked her idea.

Sneaking out to Sparsha and alone. Rosy never travelled before.

And find this Witch Master. How Rosy convinced by this crumpled flyer indeed was a question to Widow.

“I know, me too, but do I have a choice? I wanted to be trained, be good, and bring honor, Widow. This is my chance, right?” She only picked important things for her journey the next early morning. She took her gold and silver coins that she earned for cleaning the other’s houses and doing sideline jobs that her mother barely knew or she just didn’t bother at all.

“You have a chance to just simply give up,” Widow continued by discouraging her friend. It was a long journey to go for an innocent lady like Rosy. Who knew about Sparsha and what lies ahead of her?

Widow knew how naĂŻve and vulnerable Rosy was.

“Why, are you telling me this? Please, don’t worry too much about me. I’ll take care myself in Sparsha..” Rosy already sensed it. Her friend was just too worried and all her life, she had always appreciate Widow for being her only true friend—well, more like her real family.

“It’s way too far by land, Rosy. Can you really handle yourself in a stranger huge land?” Worried and doubts were all in Widow’s voice. Rosy tickled Widow’s little stomach.

“Yes, I can and yes, I will..” She assured. She made her decision to travel to Sparsha and seek this Witch Master. She badly wished to be honed like how her sisters made it. She truly believed that she could surpass all the challenges—believing to herself and being optimistic.

That was all Rosy got. For now.

“Well, I am wishing you well on your journey, dear.” Widow finally said to Rosy. Wishing her well. She couldn’t go along with her. The travel was too far for a little black widow spider.
