🔯Chapter Seven🔯

Rosy passed through this crowd where she thought a small market for villagers in the land. She was struggling to find her way back.

“Excuse me, w-where should I ride back to Enkanta?” Ands she felt really cold. Her coat’s fur was not that thick to give her warmth—and the feeling of distress worsen her emotional stress.

“At this hour, there’s no means of going there but you can go and find some travelling merchants over there,” Answered the woman, it was the first and last ride earlier. It was the only carriage that travels from Enkanta to Sparsha—and even if there was, she had no coins. She was being robbed. What’s worst? Her wand was taken!

“Thank you so much,” Rosy sadly turned away and her tired thoughts were bugged suddenly with crying plea.

“Nayehhh.. Ehhh..” A horse just nearby. Rosy heard its cry so she slowly seeks for it. Until she saw this horse paddling and stomping like crazy. He was surrounded with people trying to calm him down but something’s not right. Rosy reached his thoughts.

“Hey, there, fella, what’s wrong?” She talked to the horse as she was a foot away from it.

“I heard your cry,” She added. Rosy gradually lifted her arm to caressed his muzzle—the horse was breathing wildly. Still stomping his feet on the ground.

“Can I have some Axe herb?” Behind her was a herb vendor, Rosy knew it coz she could smell it even from afar.

“Take it,” The vendor handed her immediately the axe leaf and let the horse smell its scent.

“There, smell it and it’ll calm you down,” Rosy said. Everyone was eyeing at her and gasped as how the horse slowly calmed down from being wild.

“So, what’s wrong?” She talked again while staring at his eyes.

Something is pricking my hoof. It hurts! The horse responded through her thoughts, she heard it loud and clear and that made Rosy understood about his wild cry.

“I see, will you please raise it a bit and let me see it?” She asked. Then the horse raised its hoof for her to take a look.

Yes, my lady.

Rosy bended over and checked what pricked its hoof and there she seen this spike of nail. That’s pretty hurts!

“Okay, breathe, and in the count of three, I pull it out, okay?” Rosy said and held the end of the nail to start pulling it out. It would be painful but just in a moment—it’ll be soon gone.

“One, two—there, it’s done.” Then Rosy pulled it out. The horse cried as she did it but not to wild as he was earlier.

“You’re good now,” Rosy said and smiled at the horse.

Oh, thank you so much, my lady! I owe you a lot. He said happily.

“No worries, I’ll go now.” She then bid farewell to the horse as people witnessed what had she done—all the talking and the amazing healing she did to the injured horse.

Rosy continued walking by foot, she got no other choice but this way. She got no coins—she lost her wand! She felt so bad on how to tell her mother about it. She left without preamble and now this happened on her way here in Sparsha.

Not too far away, she noticed this familiar carriage who brought her in distress today—dwarves! She walked fast towards the carriage where they pulled over.

Then she noticed them eating something, singing, and laughing like they did nothing but horrible to other people.

“Hey! Why, you ungrateful thieves—please, hand back my wand. Just forget my coins, I just need my wand, please.” Rosy shouted. She brought all her courage to face the three dwarves, well, they were still small compared to her. Rosy thought about it—so why not?

The three glanced back and laughed at her. Dwarfy held the wand and waved in the air. They were ungrateful and that made Rosy mad at them! She never ever felt this way before but what they did to her was not right.

Well, was it too different of how her mother and sisters outrageously treated her? Yet all she always thought was, they’re family!

“What wand? Oh, this?” Dwarfy teased Rosy while the other two extremely laugh. Her instinct told her to raised her arm and point her pointing finger towards her wand.

“Come, little wand!” Then, instantly the wand flew in the air and landed to Rosy’s hand. She couldn’t believe she just did that! She was too surprised..

“Hey! Hand it back, or else?” Angry dwarves run towards her corner.

She pointed her wand back to the three. “Or else, what? Do you all know how ungracious it is to steal something?” She preached the three but they all growled in anger. Pointing their little daggers to her.

“Oh, my, she’s preaching us! Lady, hand it back, now.” The old lady was certainly right about their silliness—she trusted them easily hoping that this Witch Master was real! They fooled her and ended being robbed.

“Yes, I am preaching something that your parents had forgotten to—and that’s to be kind to people. Now, be kind or I’m going to turn you into something horrible?” She warned them while she was being circled by the three. She knew one spell of course and she’d not think twice to use it now against them if they’d not retreat!

“Well, well, let’s see what you got, little witch!” Dwarfy challenged Rosy. She gulped and hoping it’d worked—coz she’d be dead if it wouldn’t!

“Eke ti nomra kus la min ti di!” She swung her wand and casted the spell to Dwarfy. It created this magical glitters Rosy never had seen so much before. This spell would shrunk this dwarf into a size of a mouse!

And yet Dwarfy was one meter bigger than Rosy now with big eyes and nose wearing his overwhelming smile.

“Ha-Ha! Why, my wish just came true. I got taller, bigger, and mightier, to crush this little witch—should I thank you before your pitiable death?” He said to Rosy while stepping forward. Rosy turned around and ran back. She failed again the spell!

“Well, catch me first!” Rosy yelled out as she was being chased by Dwarfy-the-giant!

“Gotcha!” Yet she was being caught pulling her hair back.

“Leave her alone, dwarves.” A male voice interrupted and Rosy saw this young man, aged like her maybe, riding the same horse she tended earlier back at the market.

“Are you talking to them?” Dwarfy pointed his two dwarves fellow—coz he thought he’s dwarf no more with its size a meter bigger than average people.

“Of course, you too, idiot!” The two madly shouted at Dwarfy.

“Of course not, I am a the-giant! Now, did I smell a duel from this young little boy?” He then faced back the owner of the horse putting Rosy back on the ground. Rosy stood up and stepped backward as she saw Dwarfy was getting ready for a sword fight!

Oh, this is my fault! I got him bigger!

“This isn’t a duel, dwarf. This is a fight for committing treason.” The man responded with firm tone and was ready to go against this dwarf-no-more. He raised his shining sword and attacked first Dwarfy.

Rosy felt frozen. She never witnessed such fight all her life—only today! All her fault! But this mas was skillful indeed, by how he stroke his sword without killing Dwarfy—until the silly dwarf fell down facing the ground.

“Guards, these dwarves are in the most wanted list, I believe?” Palace guards immediately came to the scene and surrounded the three robbers. The fight was visible in the kingdom posts, no wonder they flew here riding their palace horses.

“That’s affirmative, get them.” Said the other guard and took the three of them.

Rosy was still in shocked, well for a moment. She thought how lucky then turned unfortunate then lucky again being saved by this stranger mighty man who was now in front of Rosy.

“Thank you,” She mumbled.

“I’m Nikolas, I saw you at the market. I owe you for tending my horse,” Said Nikolas. If it wasn’t because of her amazing skill back there, her horse might get terribly injured. Nikolas saw it and then she followed the woman to say his gratitude and then witnessed she was being fooled by the most wanted robbers in the Kingdom.

“Oh? Was it yours? I’m Rosy,” She answered, a little off shy. Nikolas was a gentleman, brave and handsome. Although he was wearing this plain clothing like everybody did—he got his mighty sword that saved Rosy.

“But I, I really need to go home and I’m walking on foot back to Enkanta,” She told Nikolas. The man looked over the long road to where she’d be heading home.

“That’s too far, Rosy. I suggest you should wait until morning, there are many of the same bad men out there as mean as those dwarves.” Nikolas suggested with more of his concerned tone. And he was telling the truth—a lot of bad guys were roaming around. It was just lucky that the palace guards saw the commotion by afar.

“But, I got nowhere to—“

“C’mon, I knew a respective inn, you can stay there for a night. Hop on?” Nikolas offered Rosy. She looked at the horse behind Nikolas, she reached his thoughts.

You can trust my master, my lady. The horse said.

“Err, thanks, Nikolas.” And Rosy accepted Nikolas offer to stay for a night in an inn and wait until tomorrow.

“Don’t be. I owe you today,” Nikolas helped her to ride and she stayed behind him. This was the very first day she went out her village, same day she fought bad people, and the very first day—she met a man.
