ARCHER

ARCHER

Torn between wanting to follow my mate and sitting think things through, I was frustrated with the situation. Luckily for me, I met Daisy and for once I was grateful to see her.

"Why do you have that look on your face?" She asked frowning.

"What look?"

"Like you are relieved to see me." She said looking at me suspiciously.

"That is because I am." I replied.

She looked surprised at my response.

"What did you do?" She asked looking at me with suspicion.

"Look, we need to talk.. privately" I said seriously. She got the hint that it was a serious topic. Because she just nodded, and followed my lead. We found an empty classroom, and after making sure the walls didn't have ears, I proceeded.

"You do know you could have talked to me through our family bond right?" She asked picking at her nails.

I ignored her unnecessary jab, "I found my mate!" I exclaimed very excited.

She looked startled.

"Woah, what are the odds" she mumbled.

"I know right, I didn't even expect it." I said feeling so high at the moment.

"Who is this unlucky soul forced by the moon goddess to spend the rest of her life with you?" She asked smirking.

Of course she would ruin my mood. I scowled at her.

"Her name is Ashley." I supplied smiling stupidly.

"Nice name" she commented, making me smile.

"Is she human?" She asked.

"No..no she is not." I answered, because I was sure I heard the dimmest howl of her wolf, it was very dim. But still there.

"Great, so when are you going to introduce us? Why isn't she here?"

"That's the problem..she does not know about us, she thinks she is human." I said, from the look on her face from earlier, she didn't recognize me. Even if Brandon heard her wolf. She didn't recognize us, Brandon and I.

"What do you mean?" She asked frowning.

"What I mean is, she probably doesn't know about our existence, she literally ran away from me."

"Way to go brother, scaring off your mate like that." She said face palming.

I cringed, "I could still chase after her though." I tried to curb the situation.

"No you won't, that would probably make her run to hills because a weirdo would not leave her alone. We will go home after school and tell the parents are they would tell you what to do."

I nodded, it sounded like a reasonable idea. I just had to calm Brandon down and explain that I was not leaving his mate for ever.

Immediately we headed home, not giving a rats ass about school, and for the first time we didn't argue on anything as I drove us home.

Finally we pulled into our driveway, I rushed inside the house, not bothering with parking or anything like that.

"Dad! Mom!" I called out immediately I got inside. Sensing my urgency mom ran out of the kitchen with oven mitts, my dad a step behind her. The aroma of the cupcakes she baked wafting through the air, it took a lot will power to focus on the task at hand and not go into the kitchen and finish everything she baked.

"What is it son?" Dad asked.

"Did anything happen? Are you hurt? Your sister..is she fine?" Mom asked with worry written across her face.

Daisy appeared beside me and she visibly relaxed.

"I found my mate!" I said smiling hard.

"You what?" Mom asked in shock.

"He found his mate at school." Daisy answered for me.

"This is fantastic news honey." Mom said turning to my dad, he looked speechless.

"But we have a problem." Daisy continued.

"Is she human? If she is, it won't be so much of a hassle." Mom replied.

"Yes and no." I answered.

"Why don't we take a seat and discuss this." Dad suggested. After we were all seated I nervously cleared my throat.

"I sensed her wolf, but she didn't recognize me I don't think she knows about our existence, she thinks she is a human".

"Well that is complicated". Mom said.

"And your lovely son scared her off". Daisy added.

"How?". Dad asked alarmed, I winced.

"I made her uncomfortable, I stared at her too much, I guess, but it's not completely my fault".

"Do you know where she lives?". Mom asked.

"No, I just knew her today". I said pointedly.

Mom and dad shared a look, before nodding. I guess they communicated through their mate bond.

"Let's do a stake out". Dad said.

"What?". Daisy asked.

"Let's find out where she lives before talking or deciding on anything". Mom explained.

We both nodded.

"Hopefully Brandon can track her down". Dad said. I nodded, getting the hint that we were going in our wolf form.

"We should leave by midnight, at least civilians would be sleeping". Mom said.

Even after everyone had gone to sleep to wait for midnight I couldn't, my thoughts raced so much I couldn't stop thinking about her. She was so pretty. Immediately it was midnight, I excitedly rushed to wake them up and all of us changed to our wolf form. My wolf was pretty big and impressive with midnight black fur, my forest green eyes stayed, I let Brandon take charge it was his night after all. I howled my excitement as my parents came out with Daisy in their wolf form and we began running through the woods, using the moonlight as our guide.

Finally Brandon came to a halt in front of this really big mansion, it was not so far from the school.

"Wow, your mate is really loaded". Daisy said through our wolf bond. I didn't answer instead I moved towards her room window, and my paws were planted there. All of a sudden her lights turned on and she opened the curtains as if searching for someone, finally her eyes landed on me, I couldn't run away, her eyes widened and her hand came up to her lips to suppress her screams, I finally turned and ran away.
