Chapter 2

Y A S M I N

I woke up feeling some sort of pain on my back. Did i sleep on the wrong side.

I made sure i tidy up the room before stepping out. I'm not someone who leaves the room untidy.

"Assalam Alaikum good morning Aunt," I greeted.

"Wa salam morning my dear how was your night?" She said from the kitchen while her back is facing me.

"Alhamdulillah." While walking towards the kitchen i almost tripped due to the pain that shot through my body. Thank god Aunt didn't see me before she start bombarding me with questions.

"Let me help you." I offered taking the bowl from her hand and the serving spoon.

"I'm already done with the food and you have an interview won't you be late?" Talking about work reminds me of what I saw yesterday. While checking my documents i found out that I'm going for an interview in AD company. I hope i won't meet that arrogant guy.

"Yes Aunt, i will go right after i finish my breakfast." I answered back.

"Okay let's eat before the food gets cold."

**

Getting to the company was not hard as i expected. Everyone must know this AD Group.

"Excuse me please where can i find the Managing director office." I asked the receptionist whose face is held in a frown.

"Do you have an appointment?" She asked in a not so friendly voice.

"Em..I'm here for an interview." I stated resisting the urge to roll my eyes by how she's accessing my body.

"The office is in the third floor by your left." She ushered back in that same tone. I'm not in the mood if not i would've set her in her place.

“Thank you." I said walking away. I reached the floor just within 10mins of entering one elevator to another. Why must the office be so far like this.

The door to the office which i assumed is the one the lady said burst open revealing a tall lady dressed in a fitted top and straight skirt her, makeup caked on her face.

"Excuse me I'm here for an interview," I said. Her face broke in a smile.

"Are you Miss Yasmin?" She asked. I nodded my head in return.

"The boss have been expecting you." She answered motioning me to follow her.

The coldness of the office sent chills down my body. I'm glad i wore my cardigan just in case.

"Sir the lady is here for the interview." The woman said politely.

"Okay you may go." I heard his deep voice answered. She left the office closing the door quietly behind her. An uncomfortable silence fell around me, he didn't say anything and his back is facing me.

"Have a seat." He said after a while turning his face. the first thing he did is offered me a smile. He looked young as a Ceo. He looked tall even though he's sitting down.

"Miss..." He trailed off.

"Yasmin." I added.

"So Miss Yasmin no need for any formalities, i will just ask you some few questions." He said folding his hands on the desk with an amusement smile on his face.

Why are the people on the third floor friendly first the lady and now the boss.

"Okay."

"Why do you want to work in this company?" He asked.

I don't even know.

"I just think it's a good company so i applied." I answered truthfully. His gaze linger on me for a moment that made me felt uncomfortable.

"Okay that's it you're hired." My eyes widen in surprise.

Just one question? Is something wrong with the guy.

"Sir is that all?" I find myself asking.

"Yeah that's it you can start work tomorrow, you should come by 8:00am Linda will show you your office and all that is required for you to do." My mouth hung open. Is this how someone comes to a job interview?

I realized that he's still staring at me and that at my open mouth. "Thank you sir." I said standing up.

"Have a nice day." He said. I stared at the closed door in awed. What a boss.

Since I'm new in the city, i went straight back home. Aunt was a little surprised she thought i was going to start work right away.

"I'm to start tomorrow by 8:00." I told her.

"Masha Allah, May Allah choose the best," She said.

"Ameen." I retired back to my room taking a warm shower, wearing a simple bagging top which reach mid thigh with a black leggings and wrap my head. I decided to take a nap since i have nothing to do.

**

"Yasmin can you please buy some pain relief for me, there is a shop few blocks away from the house." Aunt said.

"Is your body paining you?"

"Yes I'm feeling some pain on my back. Back pain again. I will use the chance to buy for myself too.

I was on my way back home walking quietly when i saw a little boy crying.  Ya Allah who left such a small kid all alone on the street. There were few people passing by everyone minding his/her business.

"Hey kid why are you crying, where is your Mummy." I asked the boy but it's like I'm adding fuel to his cries.

"Shh..it's okay tell me where is your mommy and daddy?" It seems like the boy had no intention of keeping quite. What do i do now? I can't leave him alone like this. An idea popped up in my head.

Maybe if i take him home Aunt might know a way for us to look for his parents. "Don't worry boy, i will take you to my house we will find a way to take you home this place is dangerous." I whispered just enough for him to hear. He just kept looking at me sniffing.

I took a hold of his hands leading him to the direction of my house.

"Where do you think you're taking my son." I heard someone said from behind me.
