Chapter 03

I must've under estimated my own strength because the door practically flies open hitting me.
I lose my
balance falling hard but hoping I at least look graceful landing on my butt.
I sit there shaking my head warding the confusion and slight spinning to disappear. I groan slightly when I see a man exiting the taxi
and he crouches down in front me.

Merda! Are you okay?” His deep and heavenly accent sends Goosebumps down my spine.

“Ye...Yes. I’m sorry I had no idea anyone was in the taxi”
I inhale deeply through my nose as the scent of his cologne lingers in the night’s breeze.

Musky with a hint of wood.
He smells so good but….so expensive too.

Crap!

“Are you hurt?” He asks with his voice laced in concern.

“Just a slight bump to my pride. I’ll be fine.” I say wishing the ground would open and swallow me up.

He stands with ease to his full
height and offers his hand.
I take it trying not to notice how much it swallows mine or the zing that
shoots down my body and explodes around my toes.
I get to my feet and look up at him meeting his
eyes.
He’s well over 6.5 feet tall, down right handsome with strong God like Italian features. His light
green eyes with a hint of grey are mesmerizing.
His ash brown hair curls at his neck and I Itch to run my
finger through it to ruffle it about.

God..

His black shirt is opened at the chest and I silently thank the good lord that he is hairless. There is
nothing attractive about a man who has hair sticking out of his shirt.

Gross!

He’s wearing well washed jeans
that mould perfectly to his ass with a black belt to match his shoes.
I swear as I ran my eyes over his
body I heard him growl deeply.
If I was anyone else but me I would want nothing more than to ride him
like crazy on the hood of the taxi.
But I’m me and I do have some morals and I’m pretty shy when it
comes to the opposite sex.
But... I’m pretty sure him and I aren’t made to mesh, I mean... I’m no Eva
Tramell and he’s definitely no Gideon Cross.
No, wait.. I’d have to be Anastasia and him Christian. I’m
obviously the awkward poor girl where he’s the Alpha and incredibly sexy as fuck male..
I Seriously need
to stop reading so many books.

I need to get home! I snap out of my trance

"Thanks… For helping me to my feet; not for the nearly knocking me out thing.” I mumble causing him to
laugh.

I pull my lower lip in between my teeth and start to nervously nibble at it.

“What’s your name Cara Mia?” He says softly

“Huh?” I say dumbfounded as I stare at his lips wondering what they would feel and taste like.

“I asked you, what your name is” He chuckles.

“Shit….. Sorry.” I mutter. “Vanessa Maddison.” I say sounding like a gump with a smile on my face.

“Vanessa Maddison?” His brows furrow.

“As in... Celeste Maddison’s younger sister?” His green eyes are intensely focused on mine.

I go completely stiff with shock. It’s
the last thing I’d ever expect to hear leaving those perfectly shaped lips.

“You don’t remember me do you?” He asks cautiously as I continue to just stare at him.

“I’m Luca, Luca Venturi.” He says. “My father was your family doctor he...
I put my hand up cutting him off.

“Look. I really don’t like going down memory lane.
I pause briefly as I look around trying to settle my nerves before continuing.

“I’ve learned to block that part of my life out.
” My voice sounds weak.
Luca rests a hand on my shoulder and it sends a rod of warmth down my spine.

Si, I understand, I’m sorry about what happened. You should not have….

“No offense... But I need to get home and shower.” I suddenly feel dirty.
“I just had some assholes dirty hands on me a while ago and I can still smell him on me.
So... if you’ll
excuse me, I really need to go”

I move past him lightly brushing up against his shoulder.
I stand at the taxi stand and wave down another taxi in no time.
I quickly get inside and start to pull the
door shut when it’s yanked open again, Luca jumps in forcing me to slide across to the other side of the
taxi.

“Wait! What do you think you’re doing? You can’t just jump in my taxi, Get out!” I give him my version
of the death stare which has no effect on him.

He turns to face me fully. “What’s the address?” He says calmly.
