Chapter 14: Rest

Genuinely and truly depleted, when Kiara pushes the way to her new loft, she just thinks often about resting her hurting body.

He had sent his legal advisor to recover his possessions from Sodhi's home previously, apprehensive he would meet Jay assuming he needed himself. Given the way that he had no cash of his own, he needed to offer his experience gems to pay for his condo.

investigate the new room. It was a room in an apartment complex and keeping in mind that she didn't care for living so near such countless individuals, she had no way out.

Kiara had recently shut the entryway behind when her phone opened in her tote. He saw it – he wasn't in the mind-set to manage Jay and his relationship, nor did he have the enthusiastic endurance to participate in a discussion with him.

Rest in the room, call the telephone once more. He pummeled the entryway noisily and let out a frantic murmur. telephone from his pack, actually taken a look at guest id however didn't discover. Wondering for no specific reason, he acknowledged the call.

"Mrs?" He heard a bizarre voice on the opposite end. "Hi? It's a crisis Ma'am. I'm calling from the public emergency clinic, Delhi. Your better half Mr Jay had a mishap.

The words kept him down, sending air out of his lungs until his hold on the telephone debilitated and he tumbled to the floor.

It resembled time had halted and all the other things had vanished – everything with the exception of a peculiar voice from a more unusual letting him know that Jay had a mishap. Each appendage of his body felt feeble, some thumping each other down until he was practically certain he was going to go off the deep end, nor could he surrender to his shortcoming. He was unable to remain here and shockingly kept it from getting to Jay, all he knew, he was in shock..

Holding to her mouth to stop her crying, gripping her stomach: Jay is and undoubtedly it's all his issue.

With one leg precarious forward, left his condo and ran down the vacant passage and out of the structure.

The noisy blaring of the heartbeat machine sitting alongside Jay's bed was the main thing that went about as a sign that he was as yet alive.

Kiara's hand held Jay's hand firmly and her eyes never left their resting shape. She could feel her warm tears running down her face as she gazed at him, Struggling to remain quiet. How could everything get so awful? How could they go from being glad, battling for their lives, to battling one another? He had lost everything – his mom, his dad, and his marriage. Be that as it may, she was unable to lose Jay. And keeping in mind that it seemed like the world was surrounding him, while it seemed like he was battling for a futile reason, he realized he needed her here, perhaps not alongside him but rather with him.

"Jay." He murmured, inclining forward and scouring his lips against his limp fingers. "Try not to kick the bucket, please.

That was everything he could say – beseeching him not to go. He might have endure the deficiency of his mom, however with the manner in which his heart beat so perilously in his chest as he looked at his first love lying oblivious before him, he knew the second his heart quit thumping, hers would as well. So he clung to her, trusting she would feel his hand in his and realize he was here. Trust he will feel the amount he needs it. Wish he realized that his entire world relied upon his endurance.

"I love you, Jay." He cries. "Please I love you - "

Something moved then, at that point, halting the progression of his words. Gasping vigorously, he sat upright and looked at her, his eyelids augmenting as his look halted on the drained green eyes.

"I love you as well, Kiara.

His dad in-law's look checked the essences of individuals sitting before him, a major grin spread across his face when he understood that Kiara was absent at the gathering. It had been seven days since he had checked out her and he was unable to have been more thankful for her nonattendance.

He let his eyes meander around the room again, filtering each face as though trying to guess their thoughts and sort out where their devotion lay. He held up a couple of moments, half anticipating that Kiara should come in through the entryway. At the point when he didn't, a dorm grin showed up all over.

"Much obliged to you just for coming.." He started.

Kiara pushed open the room entryway and jabbed her head in, her eyes fixed on Jay's unmoving figure on the bed. Seeing him, a grin spread across his face. It was an impractical notion to take her home with him after his mishap, yet he had no way out and as the day went on with him at his home, he was reminded by and by the amount he cherished her. It likewise didn't improve the situation that she had enlightened him concerning this reality while he was lying half-dead in the medical clinic bed. Fortunately, he hasn't brought it up from that point forward.

He ventured into his room and strolled around his bed. Putting the note he had composed for her as an afterthought table for when he woke up, he looked at her face – his eyelids stood near one another, taking cover behind them the wizardry of his lovely green eyes, his lips separated somewhat to let out a delicate wheezing sound and his jaw was shrouded in a facial hair growth for quite a long time.

A piece of him needed to twist down and kiss her on the lips however he battled the inclination to do as such in light of the fact that he had significantly more squeezing matters and since the time he had carried Jay home with him he hadn't let himself be. It was an extravagance to believe that things may work out between them. It was terrible enough that he cheated however he additionally attempted to kill her. No, he shook his head as though to admonish himself, he was unable to permit himself to be brought into his perilous plans any longer.

Fixing up, he left the high rise and got a taxi to take him to work. He had remained away excessively long for solace and from the report he got from a staff part, his dad had arranged the whole executive gathering, without welcoming him. Be that as it may, Kiara couldn't be pestered. In the event that his dad figured he could dispose of him by requesting that significant board individuals vote him out of the organization's entryways, then, at that point, he may have caused his own downfall.

The taxi pulled up above and he advanced toward the organization building. He pushed the way to the workplace open and from the expression on his dad's face as he sat in the horde of people he was unable to recognize, he was not just despondent to see him, he was amazed.

"Sorry I'm late." He offered a brilliant grin prior to discovering himself a vacant seat between the dim head man and the moderately aged lady. "If it's not too much trouble, father, sorry to interfere.

Father-in-law chomped his lower lip to hold back from shouting. "I don't recall welcoming you to the gathering, Kiara".

"I needn't bother with a solicitation to a gathering concerning my organization.

"Are you insane?" His voice rose a couple of indents, his eyes consuming.

He could judge by the expression on his dad's face that he was failing to keep a grip on his feelings. A wide grin showed up all over. "His eyes meandered around the table. "Or on the other hand possibly my father thinks all of you are insane on the grounds that he took a huge number of Rupees directly in front of you.

An unforgiving quiet wrapped the room as the stunned essences of all kinds of people gazed at him – even his dad looked astounded.

Ascending to her feet, Kiara began passing out duplicates of organization account records around the table. At the point when he arrived at where his dad was sitting, he gave him an admonition look prior to putting the archives before him. "Circle openings, all over the place!" He fixed up and confronted them. "My dad has been taking from this organization for more than twenty years.

"Kiara!" His dad thundered.

"Noble cause, ponzi conspire, unfamiliar record!" He kept, disregarding her. "A great many Rupees, this person here...

"Stop!" A noisy sound detonated in the room however he didn't move, his eyes fixed all over remaining before him, his arranged clench hand on the table.

"You didn't figure I would discover, did you?" He maintained eye contact with him.

"Is this valid, father?" A voice that Kiara didn't perceive, asked, never really standing out enough to be noticed.

"Go out!" His dad thundered, his eyes still on Kiara. "Every one of you, get out!

At that second, he heard the entire room get up and out the entryway.

Marginally inclining forward, Kiara got the slight quake that ran along her dad, her eyes consuming red when she saw him.

He fixed up, his arms folded over his body as he remained before him.

"You think you've won?" His voice scarcely transcended a murmur, his teeth held, sweat dribbling from his badly crumpled temple.

Causing a stir somewhat, her lips twisted into a slight bend as she shrugged, making the kinks all over extend and her eyes to become red until they were totally red.

"You think I'll just accompany you?!" He growled, his eyes threatening her – of course he knew what he was capable of! Surely he wouldn't dare threaten to go against the almighty Lord Jindal! Surely he would not dare to declare war against him!

But Kyra knows her father, she has witnessed him lying about killing his mother, demanding Kiara's inheritance, and then threatening to kill her if she refuses.
He knew how vile and evil he was, but that didn't scare him – he couldn't scare him.

Inching forward so that his fists rest on the table, and the tip of his nose almost kisses him, he tilts his head to the side, his eyes sparkling with humor.
"I put two choices in front of you, father." His smile widened as he bared his teeth and rested his elbows on the table, his chin resting on his knuckles.

“Pay back the money you stole from this company – this is your first choice.
He paused, his gaze maintaining its grip on the man.
His words hang in the air, tension quickly builds up in the room so the air thickens.

"Now, your second option is not to return my money," Frowning his brows, he leaned further until his nose kissed hers, and whispered, "and go to jail.
"

He waited, the words seeping into him until fear flashed across his eyes.
Satisfied, he leaned back and sighed heavily. "You have one week to decide."

Straightening himself, he turned to leave the room, pausing for a moment in his tracks.
"Oh, and father-in-law, I want you out of my office building in an hour because from now on." She turned to him. "You no longer work here. Isn't it funny how things are, Dad?" He raised his eyebrows "No? You don't find it funny? He tilts his head to the intended side, the smile fades from his face until all that's left is the bitterness and fury of his soul, wrinkling his face into an angry frown. "Me too. Go out!"

Turning away from him for fear that he would lunge at her and tear her face, she walked out of the room, slammed the door shut behind her, and left her father standing there, shaking from head to toe.

The first thing Jay saw when he woke up that morning were Kiara's notes.
Straight to the point and impersonal, he explains his need to go to work.
So he sat home alone all day, doing nothing but thinking about it.
He couldn't help but notice how much he had changed. Within two weeks, Kiara had become a cold, hot-tempered, and quiet human being. It was as if he was looking at a completely different woman. However, every time he looked at her, he wanted to inhale the scent of her skin and sink into the warmth of her kiss.

A week ago, as she was fighting for her life, she heard him say she loved him and it almost felt like her words were the empowerment she needed to regain her strength. Initially, he thought they could rebuild their relationship especially since he brought her home with him. Then, as the days went by, it became clear that their relationship could not be rebuilt. Kiara didn't even want to look him in the eye. Sure, he helped push her wheelchair when she needed his help because her leg was injured in the accident, but other than that, she was far away.

His eyes glanced at the clock once more as the long arm of the clock showed eight. Worried, he decided to wait another hour before calling her. Maybe he's stuck in traffic, maybe he's busy at work or maybe he doesn't want to see her? Maybe he wished he was asleep when he came in?
How did their relationship deteriorate so badly?
Jay desperately wants to get his wife back. Maybe it's about time they had a conversation to finally settle the matter between them? He had to make her understand that he had nothing to do with her heart attack! He would never try to hurt her. Why did he even think for a moment that he would try to kill her.

The door creaked open and Kiara appeared. Jay's gaze crossed his tired form as his eyes rested briefly on him before shifting rapidly.

"I got worried." He started.
Kiara offered him a small nod.
"I have to go meet Ishita, it's urgent."

"Oh?" Jay started to push his chair to where he was walking by the door, his eyes never leaving his face. He grabbed her and caught her hand, wanting her to at least look at him – he didn't.

Feeling his cold fingers on hers made her tighten his grip around her as if to keep her warm and perhaps safe from the world that was against them.

"Good night." Kiara jerked her hand away and started walking through the apartment.

Jay's heart fell with Kiara's rejection.

"Kiara!" He is screaming. His footsteps behind him stopped. He turned around to find her standing there with her back to him and her head down.

Tears filled Jay's eyes --- tears of frustration. Tears of anger. Tears of despair. No matter how hard she tried or how long she tried, Kiara was determined to kick him out of her life. However, she couldn't imagine her own life without him. How could she think of living without him when she was nothing without him?

“You know I didn't do this, Kiara. You know I'm not trying to kill you." He watched her but she still wouldn't turn around.

Sighing, he got up from his sore legs and limped across the room until he was standing in front of her. Jay could feel his legs protesting his actions but the pain in his legs was nothing compared to the pain in his heart.

"Kiara, please." He reached out and touched his face, using his finger to lift his chin so he could look her in the eye. "I would never try to hurt you." He pleaded, his eyes holding his gaze. "But I should have told you what my father's plans were and I'm very sorry."
Tears rolled down Kiara's cheeks and she reached out to wipe them.
He hated seeing her cry. He hated being the reason for his tears.

Leaning forward, he caught her lips with his and closed his eyes as the warmth of his lips bombarded his senses. He felt her tight hug but he didn't want to let go so he wrapped his arms around her and kissed her again, if only to convince her how much he loved her.

The kiss must have lasted a few seconds, before his palm pressed against his chest, pushing him away and he pulled away sharply.

Stunned, he stood in front of her, panting. "Kiara.."

"Do not!" His eyes blazed with anger. "Never do that, Jay and since you can stand on your own feet now, it's about time you found your own apartment."

It was only then, as Kiara turned her back on him and walked out the front door, that Jay finally realized that his marriage was really over and there was nothing he could do about it.

She knows what she's capable of and she doesn't care as much about her life as she cares about Jay.
That was why he had to push her away. He understands that he has chosen a path that could ultimately destroy him and he knows that if his father thinks he still feels something for Jay, he will use Jay against him. It was the same reason he didn't say a word when he moved out of his house the next day. It was painful for him to see her go. Living in the same building with her for more than a week was the hardest thing she had to do because every time she looked at him, she wanted to be in his arms. He wants to escape from his destructive life and his evil father. She needs to be happy and she knows she can only be happy with Jay.

Even now, as he sat alone in his office, his mind couldn't help but imagine it.
No, he no longer thought he was capable of trying to kill him. But it was too late to return to his decision to divorce her.

"Mom?
"

Kiara raised her head to find Lala, the receptionist, looking at her with big brown eyes like plates.
Her hair fell just above her shoulders and her hands were clasped in front of her.

"Hmm?
"

"Sorry to interrupt but a woman is here to see you.
"

"Who?
"

"He said his name was Marwah.
He insists on meeting you."

Kiara frowned slightly.
It seems that wherever she goes, her marriage to Jay and its complications follow her. Now, Mrs. Jay came to visit him at work. Kiara almost insisted they send Marwah away but nodded her head instead. It was time he tackled Mrwah's problem once and for all.

A few minutes later, Marwah sat in front of him, his legs crossed.

"Thank you for seeing me.
" Marwah smiled.

"I have work to do, Marwah and I doubt this is a social calling.
"

Marwah nodded his head earnestly.
” I came to apologize. I don't know how badly my actions will affect you and Jay..."
Kiara furrowed her brows, refusing to believe Marwah's story.

Marwah sighed before continuing, “I didn't really have an affair with Jay.
Of course he believed we did but nothing happened that night. By the time we got to my room, Jay was too drunk to do anything but sleep." Marwah shrugged. “I didn't want him to ask for his money, so I took off his clothes and mine too and lay down beside him. It should have been that simple, until I got a call a few days later from Jay's dad. He wanted me to pretend to be pregnant for his son. He offered me money and I took it. I did my part but he has refused to pay me, it is the money he has that has prompted my confession.

Kiara looks at him, stunned.
It doesn't make sense, it doesn't make sense! His dad, Jay's dad, the whole world! Why did they insist on Kiara and Vihaan's marriage and then fight so hard to end it? It was their parents' idea for God's sake!

Neither Kiara nor Jay have a say in any of that! Why?!

Anger filled Kiara's heart until it threatened to pierce her chest.
He wants to hurt Jay's father! He wanted to hurt her as much as he hurt her.

Without a word, he got up and walked out of the office; his father will get his own share of the poison because he will be damned if he lets him get away with what he did to his marriage.
