Lover by Mistake

1. Gray : NBSB

Gray suddenly woke up on a dull Monday morning, mind hazy with sleepiness. She squinted her eyes to look around her, slightly confused about everything, A few minutes passed by before awareness kicked in. She opened her eyes to take a look at her bedside clock again. 8:00 AM, it shows her the tine in a bright green color.

"8 AM... 8 AM? oh my God, I'm freaking late!" she freaked out as she scrambled out of her bed and ran into the bathroom.

She has her first period at 8 AM. She took a bath and put on her uniform faster than anyone who's late for their period, slammed her bedroom door open, and ran out of the house like a madwoman.

"Gray! You haven't eaten breakfast yet!

She heard her mother shouts as ran out of the house.

"I'm late mom, I will eat at school!"

She called Mang Boyet to drive her as fast as he can with his tricycle to the bus station so she can go to the local university and attend her class. Maybe she can avoid her professor's punishment by buying him his favorite coffee from the nearby coffee shop. Grabbing her cellphone in her bag she sent a message to her best friends and classmates Lynette and Scarlette.

Gray: Tell me that Mr. Arenas is in a good mood today.

Scarlette: Nope, he's a grumpy man today.

Lynette: He's not in the mood for your bullshits Gray. It's MONDAY and you're skipping his class.

Gray: Well I have a very good time sleeping my ass off. I won't be able to make it in time huh.

Lynette: Nope. You should just talk to him and explain everything when you get back here, with your offering.

Gray bites her lips as she pulled out her wallet to take a peek inside.

"I still have some money to buy him coffee, but I will skip one lunch this week. Ughhh..." she went out of the tricycle, paid Mang Boyet, and wait for the bus to arrive.

When will my luck change, I wanted to be lucky for once. Just like my best friends, they have lots of money because they are lucky enough to be born into a well-off family while she has to work hard to get some extra cash.

The bus take her to the university but she turned left and walk into the small coffee shop that is beside their school.

"Hey, Gray! The usual?" Gino asked her as she winces and walks towards the counter.

Even the staff here knows her orders already because she's almost always late and she always buys coffee here as a peace offering for her professors.

"Yes and...

She suddenly stopped speaking as she bumped into someone.

"What the...

She heard a deep tone of voice speak out. She gritted her teeth in annoyance as she looked up at the man who bumped into her but that simple bump feels like a forceful push from a rampaging bull, She put a hand on her bruising shoulder.

"Can't you see that I am here, I just entered and you go at me like your ass is on fire." she grumpily said.

"Excuse me?" the man said as he look down at her. That one look that seems like he is judging her entire being.

"Can't you hear properly mister? Geez, next time please be careful. Not everyone is built like you." Annoyed at being pushed, shoulders still felt tingly from pain. She walks around the man and hurried up to the counter.

Gino looked pointedly at her while looking back at the man who seems to have gone out of the shop already.

"You know, you were kinda rude back then too. Mr. Shaun seems to be a decent guy.

"A decent guy who didn't even apologize to me when he literally rammed into me and break my shoulder. Listen, I am late and I need the usual order to smoothen things out," she said in a hurry. She can't get into her class anymore but she needs to be at the teacher's lounge to wait for their teacher and give some peace offering so they won't fail her this term.

She grabbed her drink and walk out of the shop when she noticed the guy standing beside a sports car. A group of students are hovering nearby and admiring the car, it's not every day that they can see a luxury car nearby this side of town.

So he is a big-time man huh, must be filthy rich to own a car like that. Too bad too much money can't buy good manners.

Gray went off to start her day and put that tall annoying man out of her mind for the day. Later that afternoon, the three friends are in the cafeteria enjoying their food.

"Why are you late anyway?" Lynette asked her as the two looked at her with worry when she took a huge chunk out of her burger.

"You guys know that I took a couple of part-time jobs in order to support my studies right? Well, I had a busy day yesterday and I just passed out on the bed as soon as I walked in my room," she explained to her best friends.

"You know you are pushing yourself too far. Drop a couple of jobs, stick to one or two part-time jobs." Scarlette said patting her shoulders in sympathy,

"I can't, I also need to support my brother. He's in 8th grade now and my dad is still bedridden."

Lynette looked at Gray in pity, she can help her friend financially but she knew Gray won't accept any money from her. Gray won't accept any easy money, money that she doesn't work hard for. Until a sudden thought entered her mind. THE SUGAR DADDY.

"Oh my gosh, I just remembered something," she whispers in wonder as she took out her phone and scroll through it in silence.

Gray looked confusedly at Scarlette who shrugged her shoulders.

"You know guys some rude ass man bumped into me as I order a coffee outside, looks rich. He has a sports car parked outside but I think he lacks some manners. He didn't apologize when he slammed into me. I think the incident has permanently injured my delicate shoulders." Gray said with a grin.

"Shut up, you are so dramatic," Scarlette said with a laugh.

Lynette slammed a hand on the table which halts their laughing session.

"What? Did you see a rich man outside? Today? Like he is outside?" she asked in surprise, looking directly at Gray who nodded glumly.

"Ahhh, yes. Why?

Lynette grabbed her bag and stood up to leave. The two stared at their friend's retreating back in confusion.

"What the heck happened to her.

"I don't know."

Lynette walks out of the university, she needs to make sure if that rich man is the same man that she has been chatting up within the sugar daddy app. Walking and looking around, she gasps as she saw the red sportscar just like what Gray tells them. She took out her phone again and send a message to her online sugar daddy.

Lynette: I see you, I couldn't believe my eyes. Did you really come here? At my university?

Mr. Shanks: Of course, I am a man with one word. And I also told you I have a business meeting nearby.

She gripped her phone tightly, this is a legit app. She can transfer her account to Gray and let her have all the benefits of it. She smiled as she thinks of the ways how to make Gray agree to her plan.

This man will fill your wallet with lots of cash, my dear friend, you just have to work hard to entertain him.

Meanwhile, Gray sneezed loudly inside the cafeteria.

"Ugh, that's a loud one," she mutters as she took a tissue.

"That means some evil bitch is planning something against you," Scarlette said with a laugh looking up as Lynette came back to their table.

"A very beautiful, gorgeous, and charismatic evil bitch. You. my friend are a very lucky person today." Lynette laugh evilly as her two best friends looked at her with worry.

"Is she really our friend? I think there's something wrong with her head." Gray muttered to the other who clasps her hands and whispered something.

Gray has no idea what is in store for her, what will happen in the following days, and what's up with her best friend and her evil laugh. One thing is for sure, she will be pissed off at Lynette.
