Chapter 8

Chad POV:

I was mad.

Actually I was furious.

The image of that guy, that gross, horrible human being touching my girl- Lucy. Not letting go of her when she wanted to.

I clenched my fist. I remembered hearing that crack when I smashed his face with my fist. I remember the blood gushing from his nose.

And I don't care.

The bastard deserved it. He deserved to be hurt.

"Hey! Chad! Wait up" Darren runs up behind me.

Darren stops in front of me, looking at me and his eyes widened.

"What happened?" He asked and I sighed.

I felt guilty. I left her alone. At a fucking party.

"We turned up to a party last night" I spit, my voice is filled with anger.

"This dude was trying to fucking force Lucy to touch him, kiss him. God knows what else" I growl and Darren eyes widened.

"What did you do?" He asks and I clench my fist.

"Broke his nose" I say, "although I wanted to beat his ass, Lucy stopped me. She asked me to stop" I say, I relaxed when I remembered she is okay now. I relaxed when I remembered she is here, in school.

"Woah! When did this happen?" Darren asked and I sighed, pinching the bridge of my nose.

"Last night. I was a fucking dickhead and left her to get us drinks. Who the fuck does that?" I ask.

Darren budged his shoulder with mine.

"You like her. A lot. And you are blaming yourself" he says and I nod.

"I do. Fuck, I don't want to because she won't like me but I do" I say, my hands raking through my hair.

"How do you know she doesn't like you?" He asked and I stopped, giving him a look.

"I just do" I say, looking behind him.

"They are coming. Shut it" I give him a glare before they reach us.

"Hey" Lucy smiled her pretty smile and I felt my heart flip.

"Hi'' I return her smile, flashing her my dimples.

She took me into a small hug and I hoped she didn't feel my heart best increase.

"I don't blame you" she whispers, "it wasn't your fault." She adds.

Although I've tried to convice myself all night, and Darren tried to, she is the only one I believe. I believe her words and felt myself relax.

"I'm still sorry" I whisper back, her scent was around me and i wanted nothing more but to have this every day.

She laughed lightly, "You have nothing to be sorry for" she whispers before she pulls away.

And why did she pull away. Because of my stupid ass, annoying ass, soon-to-be-dead best friend.

"Don't get too cozy, we got lesson in 2" he shouts with a whistle.

I see Lucy blush and I see Dani smack him across the head.

He totally ruined our moment.

"Darren and I are gonna start walking to lesson" Dani says, before literally dragging her boyfriend away.

Lucy smiled at me and i faintly saw Dani wink at Lucy.

"When are your parents coming home?" I asked her as we began to walk to lesson. Correction, as I walk her to journalism.

"Next weekend. They wanted a break" she says with a smile.

I loved her parents, they were so funny and kind. Also, they always made jokes about us getting together.

Although, it probably won't happen. Even if I wanted it to.

"What you doing after school, today?" I ask, trying to be my normal, confident self.

"I'm not sure yet" she says, "why? What's up?" She asked with a beautiful smile.

"Want to go to the amusement park with me?" I ask, giving her a small smile.

She nods her head, her cheeks dotting with pink blotches.

"Like a date?" She blurted before he eyes went wide. "I mean.. sure. I'll see you later" she says quickly before running to journalism.

I smiled, my heart skipped as I began to walk to class.

Maybe I'm not the only one who wanted it to be a date.
