"What was that about? Why did she kiss me?" I asked myself as I laid on my bed

"So does this mean she likes me? No no, no way. She was just messing with me. Plus Ben likes her" I told myself, "Should I tell him?"

"No. I don't think I should tell him. Yeah, why should I tell him? It's not really a big deal, It's not like she confessed her undying love or anything. It was just a kiss. She just thinks I'm cute nothing more. Wait did you seriously think I'm cute though?" I said, "No stop it. Ben likes her. Yeah, it was just a kiss idiot. Stop thinking about it. I bet she's not thinking about it at all"

"I need to go to sleep," I said closing my eyes.

The next time I opened my eyes morning had come and I was waiting by the bus stop with Ben at my side

"Sup Alex?" he smiled as we did the handshake but this was oddly the handshake from yesterday and I found it weird

"Um..hey Ben," I said nervous for some reason.

"That greeting sounded weird man, Are you okay? Did something happen?" he asked

"Something? Something like what. I'm totally cool, calm, and collected" 

"You sure?"

"Positive man"

"Oh, so you didn't kiss her?"

"Her?" I asked confused

"Elizabeth."

"What?"

"You son of a bitch. I can't believe you"

"Chill Ben it's not what it seems?" I said

"Screw you!" he yelled charging at me with his fist held high

"It was a mistake! She kissed me!" I yelled jumping up. It turned out I was dreaming. One thing I always found weird about myself was if I felt guilty about something I'd dream about it. It annoys me to no end but I guess my conscience is just more influential than others

"What am I feeling guilty about. She's the one that kissed me" I said with my face in my palm

"What are you talking about weirdo?" Amanda asked walking into my room, "Who kissed you?"

"No one"

"No way you definitely said she's the one that kissed me," she said

"Is that really what you came in here for you little brat?" I asked desperate to dodge the question

"Oh yeah Mom told me to wake you up," she said

"Okay, I'm up. So you can leave now"

"Whatever, Just tell your friend that I want the hundred bucks he owes me," she said before leaving

I sighed before getting out of bed... After a quick shower, I found myself in the kitchen where my mom was waiting for me with a glass of milk in her hand

"Good morning" I yawned as I walked in

"Good morning to you too Alex. Are you okay?" Mom asked reaching out the glass to me

"Yeah, why?" I asked

"You look tired," she said as I down the milk in one gulp

"No I'm fine I just had a bad dream," I said

"Yeah he jumped up screaming she kissed me," Amanda said walking into the kitchen with her bag on her back and her matching lunch kit in her hand

"Who were you kissing?" Mom asked curiously

"I wasn't kissing anyone," I said

"Then who were you dreaming of kissing?" Amanda asked

"Was it Wendy?"

"No, why are we bringing Wendy into this?" I asked annoyed

"Okay so was it someone else?" Mom asked

"NO!" I shouted suspiciously

"Okay, so what was it about?"

"Nothing it was just a stupid nightmare," I said

"Okay fine if you don't want to talk about it. Let's change the topics" she said

"Thank you," I said

"So how was the party?"

"The party? What party?"I asked sounded confused

"The party you and Ben went to," Amanda said staring at me as if I was some idiot

"Oh, that party. It wasn't all that I don't even remember it anyway"

"Nothing interesting happened at all," I said

"That sounds suspicious"

"Nope nothing suspicious at all"

"Yep, something really happened. Did you really kiss someone at that party?" she laughed, "Haha who was it? Come on tell me"

"I'm going to school," I said walking away

"What about breakfast?" Mom asked

"It's cool I'll grab something on the way?" I asked.

I made it my way to school directly after that, forgetting about breakfast. When I reached my class I sighed laying my head on the table

"How could you man?" Ben asked sounding a little upset making me jump up surprised.

"What are you talking about?" I asked getting out of my seat in case I needed to run

"Don't play dumb. Amanda told me you kissed someone at the party"

"What!"

"I heard you even had a mild wet dream" he teased. I asked Amanda what she had told Ben later on and turns out she spiced up the story by a lot

"Dude nothing like that happened," I said

"So you didn't kiss anyone at the party?" he asked

"Um...no...no I didn't," I said

"That pause. Oh my god you totally did, Didn't you" he said

"No. Screw it, what about you?"

"Asking about Elizabeth huh?" he asked

"Yeah?" I asked despite already knew the answer

"Nothing" he sighed

"Seriously?" I asked pretending to be surprised

"Yeah I didn't even see her once," he said, "I'm beginning to doubt she was even there"

"She was there" I confirmed

"You sound sure"

"Yeah I mean it's her party at her house. She had to have been there and I think I spotted her on my way to the bathroom" I said

"I guess I just must have missed her" he shrugged before Wendy and Samantha walked up to us

"Sup guys," Wendy said

"Sup Wendy" Ben said

"Um...Hi Wendy" I said

"What? No hi Sam?" she said

"Goodbye Sam" Ben said before she rolled her eyes at him

"So what were you guys talking about?" Wendy asked

"Alex kissed someone at Elizabeth's party," Ben said

"Seriously?" Samantha said surprised

"No. I didn't" I said

"Yeah he's totally lying," Ben said

"So who'd you kiss?" Wendy asked

"Not you too Wendy. I didn't kiss anyone! Can we just drop this?"

"Okay, but why don't we believe you?" Ben asked

"Come on just tell us," Samantha said

"Elizabeth" Ben said causing my heart to jump. I was freaked why would he suddenly call her name like that

"What!" I yelled, "Why did you suddenly say that?"

"Because Elizabeth coming this way," Ben said as Elizabeth stopped in front of us

"Hello everyone," she said

"Alexander" she smiled singling me out from the group

"Um hi Elizabeth," I said before Ben stepped in front of me staring into Elizabeth's beautiful ocean blue eyes

"Hey, Liz. Can I call you Liz?"

"Do not" she rebuked

"Okay, Elizabeth. Hi, my name is.."

"Benjamin Andrews. I know. And you're Wendy Williams and you're Samantha Jones" she said

"You remembered their names?" I said

"I remember the name of everyone in the class," she said

"Wow that's impressive," Wendy said

"Of course yours truly as impeccable memory," she said

"That's so cool," Ben said

"Anyway class is about to start. I will see you later Alexander" she said walking away before turning to wink at me.

"What was that?" Samantha asked

"What was what?" I asked

"She winked at you," Samantha said

"No, she didn't," I said

"Yeah, she totally did. She totally winked at you" Samantha said

"Did she?" Ben asked

"No, she didn't"

"Then didn't she close one eye and open it. Last time I check that's what you call a wink" she said

"She probably just got something in her eyes," I said

"Dust?" Ben said

"As if. She totally winked at you" Samantha said

"No, she didn't. Can you guys just go to your seats? Class is about to start" I said

"Fine let's go, Wendy," Samantha said leaving

"See you at lunch," Wendy said before leaving

"Did she seriously wink at you?" Ben asked once they left earshot

"Dude why would she wink at me. We just met" I lied

"Yeah. I guess you're right" Ben said

"Anyway class is about to start. Let's just sit down" I said sitting down

After the first two lessons, Ben and I went to the canteen for lunch which I really needed because I was starving

"Hey, can I have ten bucks?" Ben asked

"What? Why?" I asked confused

"I lost my wallet. Probably at the party" Ben said smiling cheekily

"So you lost it at Elizabeth's?" I asked

"Huh-uh" he smiled

"So let me guess. Not so much lost but left?" I asked

"Now all I have to do is wait for her to find the number inside it and call me," he said

"And if she doesn't?"

"And that's the best part. Now I have an excuse to go back to her house" he confirmed

"You think she'd give you the time of day"

"Won't know until I try?" he said, "In fact there she is. We can go ask"

After he dragged me over to her

"Hey Elizabeth," Ben said

"Hi," I said

"Benjamin, Alexander," she said smiling at me, "How may I assist you both today?"

"Well, you see my friend here. Left-"

"Lost" Ben corrected

"Lost his wallet at your house" I finished

"And he wishes to come over to look for it," Elizabeth said

"Yeah is that okay?" I asked

"You wouldn't happen to be joining him would you?"

"Sure why not?" I shrugged

"Splendid you guys can come after school. At four sharp if you are a minute later you will be greeted by a closed gate do you understand"

"Yeah sure," we said before she turned and started walking away

"Yes"

"But aren't you gonna have lunch?" I asked

"Heaven's no. I was only looking for my idiotic big brother"

"You have a brother?" I asked

"I came to this polluted place to find him but as you can see I didn't," she said, "I'll see you both after school"

After that, she left leaving the two of us standing in the middle of the canteen

"Dude did you see that. She totally smiled at me." he smiled

"And she called my name first I think she might like me. What do you think" he continued

"Um...I think we should get something to eat" I said before suddenly Anthony ran up to us

"Hey, you two. Have you seen my girlfriend?" he asked us. That really pissed me off inside but I tried to keep a calm expression

"Um...no," Ben said

"Bummer I've been looking for her ever since lunch started" he sighed

"Well, that's too bad. You should probably go look elsewhere" Ben said

"Yeah. Anyways I'm Anthony. She told you two were her friends" he introduced himself, "I like meeting my girlfriend's friends"

"So what's your name again?" he asked before looking at Ben because I didn't want to talk to him

"I'm Ben and this is Alex"

"I'm gonna use the bathroom," I said before leaving the cafeteria.

After that unpleasant bit of dialogue, we went back to class and Ben watched the clock until school over before dragging by my shirt to the bus stop

"Okay how do I look?" he asked once again as we reached in front of the hotel entrance

"The same as the last ten times you asked me," I said irritated at his constant pestering

"Oh, you guys made it on time. Good" Elizabeth said

"Yep wouldn't want to keep you waiting beautiful" Ben said in an attempt to sound smooth

"Let's head inside so you can hurry and look for your wallet," she said not paying attention to his previous compliment before we walked into the lobby and headed straight for the elevator

"So where did you leave your wallet?" she asked as the elevator came to a stop

"I think I left it somewhere in the living room," Ben said as we opened her door

"Where?" she asked

"Probably in the furniture or something," he said vaguely before we walked over to the couches

"I think it's on the couch. Would you mind helping me look?" Ben asked

"I in fact do mind. Why should I go through the menial task of helping to relocate your lost wallet?"

"I'm going to find the bathroom," I said finding myself out of this awkward situation

Elizabeth's apartment was huge and there were many rooms so it came as no surprise when I had no idea where the bathroom was and ended up being lost in the maze-like building

"How hard is it to find a fricking bathroom in this place" I cursed opening the door to yet another unused bedroom

"Alexander," Elizabeth said immediately getting my attention

"Elizabeth" I sighed

"Aren't you suppose to be helping Ben?" I asked

"Why would I? I already made it clear it has nothing to do with me. I'd much rather be helping you locate the bathroom. I knew you'd need help" she said

"Was I wrong?" she asked walking towards me

"Um...no you weren't," I said stepping back every time she stepped she took forward

"So why does it seem like you're keeping me at arm's length," she said

"Um no...I'm not avoiding you. I'm just...um..." I said backing into the wall

"Avoiding me," she said placing her hands on the wall pinning me there

"No," I said

"Then stay right there," she said before trying to kiss me. I was dazed for a second with the thought of letting her kiss me crossed my mind but thoughts of Ben finding out gave me the strength to block her and push her off

"I'm sorry but what the hell was that?" she asked surprised and a little angry

"Look Elizabeth. I can't do this. I still like Wendy and my friend really likes you" I said

"Well that's too bad for him because I like you," she said moving my hands

"And I tend to get the things I like," she said

"Well, I'm not some object you can obtain. And why not Ben, he's way better looking than me"

"And I'm way better looked than him," she said, "If relationships were based solely on the level of attractiveness I'd be single forever"

"What?" I asked not understanding how one person can be so full of themselves

"By the way, my family is opening a theme park next month"

"Yeah so?" I asked wondering why she suddenly brought that up

"You'll be my date" she answered

"No," I said decisively, "Haven't you been listening to me. I don't wanna go out with you"

"Really? Why?"

"Yes! Ben is my best friend" I said

"Okay one question," she said making me sigh

"What is it?"

"You haven't told Benjamin we kissed have you"

"NO! Why the hell would I tell him that?" I said

"Good so here's what's going to happen. You're going to be my date to the theme park"

"I already told you no"

"I heard you but if you don't want our little kiss to be known to poor Benjamin who would be heartbroken to hear his best friend kissed his crush. You will be my date and you will not say any words of protest" she said

"You can't be serious?" I said

"Yours truly doesn't say anything she doesn't mean," she said

"You're seriously blackmailing me right now."

"Indeed," she said

"Why? Why would you do that?" I asked, "It can't be because you like me"

"You're right. At first, I didn't like you but was only trying to relieve some boredom but I've got to admit you're loyalty really moved me and honestly I enjoyed our kiss more than I expected" she answered

"That can't be the reason" I said

"Not the only reason. You're the first guy to ever reject me. That intrigues me. Thanks to your loyalty getting you would be a challenge and I like a challenge"

"You've got to be kidding me" I said in disbelief

"I don't kid Alexander and I don't like repeating myself. So anyway we should get you to the bathroom. Follow me this way" she said walking away

"This can't end" I said before following close behind her
