CHAPTER SEVEN: THE OTHER WOMAN

Cindy’s POV

It has been two weeks since Mr. Felix had employed me to work in his house. Mr. Felix paid me a generous wage with only two rules that I had to follow. The rules were pretty simply, I should not leave his house and neither shall I go to the police station to report Mr. Kyle and himself.

I sat down on the kitchen counter waiting the pot of stew to cook, this afternoon like every other afternoon for the past two weeks; I had been in charge of preparing Mr. Felix’s dinner before he got home. The doorbell rang; I wondered who could be at the door this early morning, deep down I hope that it was not Mr. Kyle.

I walked to the door and I unlocked it. There was a blond woman standing at the door, all dolled up and looking at me from head to toe.

"Morning, I am looking for Felix, is he at home?” The blond woman asked me in a not so friendly manner.

"No he's not home yet, ma'am but if you like, you could leave a message for him” I informed her and she did not look too pleased with my answer. She looked at me disgustingly and tried to walk right past me but I blocked her entry.

"By the way, who are you if I may ask?” She asked me, looking down at me as though I was nothing but dirt. I knew that I had not dressed as elegant as she did; I only wore the oversized dress that Mr. Kyle had brought me and I was thankful for it.

"I am Cindy, Mr. Felix’s house cleaner” I responded and I was proud to say that. All my life, I had wanted to have my own job and here was, working and earning my own money.

"Well I'm his fiancé, you may call me madam from today onwards” The rude lady answered. She spoke to me with such authority in her voice and succeeded in pushing me out of the way, as she walked into the house. I followed only to find her sitting in the living room and flicking the channel as If she owned the damn place.

"By the way, call your boss and tell him I'm home" She demanded me and I hated the way she did that. At first, I hesitated, but I called Mr. Felix. Only he could sort this out. I went into my room and used the landline there instead and I waited for him to answer the phone.

"Hello Martini law firm, how may we help you?” A lady's voice came through the phone and I knew it must have been his personal assistant.

"I, I'm Cindy"

"Well hello Mrs. Cindy, how may I help you?” The women on the other end asked me.

"I need to speak to Mr. Felix Martini please"

"Okay but do you perhaps have an appointment or wish to schedule one?” She asked me, causing me roll my eyes on my end of the phone.

"No I do not, I'm his maid. There’s something wrong at his house, which is why I really need to speak to him about it" I informed her, hoping that it would be enough to get Mr. Felix on the phone with me.

"Okay could you be a little patient, your call will soon be sent through to Mr. Martini” She informed me. I waited for a while until I heard Mr. Felix’s voice through the other side.

"Afternoon Cindy, what is wrong?" Mr. Felix asked me.

"Good afternoon sir, I just wanted to inform you that your fiancé is here at your house" I informed him.

She is sitting in your living room, on the couch that I should be occupying because my sitcom has just begun. I thought to myself irritably.

"I don't get what you're trying to say, because I don't have a fiancé. Can you at least get me her name?” Mr. Felix asked me, leaving me more confused than he was.

"Well she refused to give me her name but she's a blond and tall woman sir" I heard him sigh deeply through the phone before speaking again.

"Hold on, I'll be home in about forty minutes” Mr. Felix informed me.

"Okay sir, bye" I told him and he then ended the call. When I walked down the steps and I walked into the kitchen, I found that the blond woman was no longer sitting on the couch. I heard noises coming from the kitchen and I walked into the kitchen to investigate. Upon entering the kitchen, I found her looking into the pot with a disgusted look on her face and she turned towards me.

"What the hell are you cooking for my boyfriend?" She asked me, no she yelled at me.

"I am making spaghetti and meatballs; by the way I thought you said that you were his girlfriend, then how come you have suddenly become his girlfriend?” I asked her, trying to get clarity from her. I watched as her face turned from pale to red as she took steps towards me.

"I'm soon to be his fiancé and when we get married, the first order of business is to fire you" She threatened me.

“By the way, this is the last time that you ever make such disgusting food for my fiancé!” She yelled at me causing me to step away from her and then pushed me so hard that my back landed against the kitchen cupboard. It had not hurt that much but the way she treated me did hurt me. I had not lived with Mr. Felix that long but I could not understand why such a good man would choose a woman like that for a fiancé.

I looked at the food in the pot and it did look good and not disgusting, as the blond woman had said it was. Deep won I prayed that Mr. Felix would be home soon.

Felix's POV

I remember my secretary calling to inform me that Cindy had called; this left me wondering if something had gone wrong. Cindy informing me that there was a woman in my house, claiming to be my fiancé was from what I was expecting to hear.

I had arrived at my house in less than forty minutes, thanks to there being no traffic on the roads. I walked into my house only to find no one in my living room. I then made my way to the kitchen, where I found Cindy cooking, with her back facing me as she swayed her hips left and right to the rhythm which she was humming to.

Damn it. I cannot believe that I had not noticed that she had an hourglass figure and a fine looking ass. I immediately felt that my manhood had begun to rise.

Dammit Felix you cannot lust after your house cleaner. I thought to myself and I quickly banished the thought from my head. Cindy turned around to face me and dropped the spoon in her hand onto the floor, causing me to snap out of my thoughts. She quickly picked up the spoon looked at me before speaking.

"Good afternoon sir” She greeted me like a scared little mouse, fearing that cat that would eat it.

"Where is she?” I asked Cindy, not evening responding to her greeting as I was trying to get too the root of all this.

"She? She's in your room sir" Cindy informed me as she pointed at the direction of the stairs.

"What? Why would you let a stranger into my room?" I asked her and Cindy looked scared that I had asked her this.

"Because she was screaming and she said she's your girlfriend— well she also said that she's also your soon to be your fiancé and she'll fire me" Cindy confessed to me.

For the first time in a long time, I was speechless that some unknown woman had come to my house and claim to be my fiancé. I looked away from Cindy and I exited the kitchen, leaving Cindy alone in the kitchen. Instead of walking up the steps, I ran up the stairs. I got to my door, took a deep breath, unlocked my door and to my surprise, it was her.
