spring of the Autumn

Spring of autumn.
It was a cold breezy morning in this Elysian city. The city is filled with all the essence of nature and beauty. It seems like God has spent some special time in the creation of this city. The city was familiar for its natural beauty, the series of vibrant trees, the Glass Mountains, blooming valleys, crystal lakes and cataracts, and the people. Oh yes, according to some magazine research, this city is no one in northern Europe for having the most beautiful people.

But the city is not allowed to and has never offered tourism. Well, the most beautiful place in this city after that silver cataract is this park. This is not a national or City Park, but a community park. The park has nothing except benches and little fake fountains and a series of trees.

In the autumn season, when leaves turn yellow, and sprinkle all over the ground, it seems like spring will be back. The ground is decorated with yellow, orange brown and red leafs. And nobody can ever discover this mystery that the trees can never be emptied, even in autumn. They always have leafs, in orange leaf season, it has all dried leafs. And this thing makes this park an enigma. And people thought this park was enchanted and avoided visiting here. Not even community members except a few, who are part of our story.

This spooky place has so many strange characters like the unknown old lady; she was not a community member, and has no idea for how long she is connected with this park, but she visits here daily. The Sullivan couple, who have twins and a new-born single, they were community residents and visited the park on weekends. The blonde girl Katrina, and her paralyze father, they visit twice and sometimes thrice a week. And those love birds of the elm tree. That teenage pretty Asian face girl and the gypsy type young blonde boy, it is a strange visit, the day when that gypsy visit that Chinese doll was not there, but she visit the next day. And a 15 year old boy named Alex.

There are lots of people come to visit this park. Some of them are routine walkers, who do exercises and jog daily. Some are like nomads they visit accidently. But these characters are daily and weekly visitors to this park. And you can say they are the stories of this park, or this park is the story of their lives.

That grey cemented bench of the fountain area was the property of that old lady. She visits here daily after sunset, sits on the same bench with her little grey purse, and sees every one. Everything & Everyone. She sees everybody with some untold feelings. Like she is observing them, or finding something in them, or maybe missing her past! (Just an assumption) and then she started thinking, yes her wrinkled face filled with so many thoughts. And the most readable expression you can ever found on her face was regret. She watches first the Sullivan’s. She looked them with little smile, like she likes to see them together. She sees their kids with little craving eyes. Maybe she has not family. Then if Katrina is present with her elderly father, she just passed a smile to Katrina’s in return of her. Then stared that man with covetous. Like he has something which is really worthy, even tho he is on wheel chair, cannot move body parts including face, only eyes, ears and brain can work. Not tongue even. She watches them all, like she is desire all these, and then she up her head and looked at the sky, and take deep breaths. After them she looked for the young Alex, with her scanning eyes. Sometimes Alex feels little spooky vibes from that woman, he passed her a nervous smile, but she never returned that smile to him, like she did with Katrina.

So let’s start our tour of this park.

When she stared Alex completely then again up her head and looked at the sky. And sigh again. She is also waiting for the love birds, her expression notable when she watched the, when she looked at the girl, who is passing from her front. She looked her sadly and angrily like she doesn’t happy with her or don’t want her to do what she is doing or maybe she doesn’t like her the way she was. It could be anything but not hate. No she didn’t hate her but maybe she wasn’t happy with her. Maybe she doesn’t believe in love or had bad experience in past. Maybe she thought that young age is not good for this or maybe she doesn’t like the dating ideology of new eras.

Well for the boy (who is partner of her), she has same expression, but more bitter than her. It seems like she hates that gypsy boy, she sees him with all anger and bitterness like she wants him to hit, but maybe she can’t. And then again she looked up to sky and take deep breath.

It is not easy to understand what she was thinking. Who she was, what did she study, how was her brought up, what she had suffered in her life. Was it good or bad?

Well, the only thing which is common in all she watches everyone and then looked at sky and sigh. Was she wondering about her own life, or she compared her life with others, or maybe it was her style to talking with God.

But she is the most mysterious character of this park.

Now let’s move to the Sullivans. Sullivans place was that corner garden area, coz lady Sullivan loves flowers and Mr., Sullivan love silence and loneliness. The Sullivans chose to sit near fountain on the green grass garden, which is dried these days and they are using that white floral sheet to sit. They look so noble by their appearance but their kids are such naughty, specially the twins. They love to create mess, sometimes their mother shouts on them as typical mother style. But it’s not work always. All the time kids love to play hide and seek especially between those love birds. Sullivans are couple are mostly seems happy together, don’t know how much funny jokes Sullivan husband cracked that her wife laugh. Sometimes they seems to be very romantic mood, like he kissed his wife or sometimes she kissed him and sometimes they both looks busy with their kids. Sometime they also play with them. And sometimes they hold magazine in their hands and sit opposite with each other. In short they are amazing and seems like they love to avoid others and enjoy each other’s company. They are such amazing example of happily married.

Now we turn to beautiful Katrina and her elderly father. Usually Katrina covers Whole Park’s walking track with her father but when she started feel tired by dragging her father’s wheel chair she chose to take him into that only gazebo which was made in the center of the park near artificial lake. Katrina is such soft spoken girl, she might be the only person in the park who notices other park members (not like the old lady). She passed a silent smile and hello gesture to the old lady, she talked sometimes to Mrs. Sullivan and sometimes she did little cheer with kids those kids, she ask something to them and then tell to her father, her smiled lightly. He can’t laugh and smiled properly due to weakness. And then she saw her father’s face with sad smile. She always says warmly hi to that Asian girl and the gypsy boy, that gypsy boy always do a decent flirt to her, which she accepted with her lively smile. She also meets to Alex on her return, she just call him “hello prince charming”. And Alex got shy. He asked her always about her father, and she always got sad according to her doctors says her father’s recovery is not possible. Katrina was study in the city university and works part time somewhere to pay her father’s hospital bills.

Ohh see love is in the air, yes that elm tree couple. They both are weird little, may be because of their age. They were so young to live in this love saga but mostly this young age get so attracts by fantasy. There elm tree is their story book, it was all start from last summer when that Chinese doll came and sit underneath the long branches of the tree and cried over the situation of her life, her parents going to divorce soon, her best friend stole her boyfriend. Her boyfriend caught red handed on cheating her with her best friend. She got such poor marks in her terms and now she got fired from her job from a society café as waitress. And then she decided that life has nothing for her, world has nothing left for her, so she decided to go back to the place, where she came from. Yes she decided to go back to the God. Maybe he has something for her. She just takes out the knife from her pocket and start scratched the date of later days and her decision she made that day. And then she left the park and second day she did not come but the boy visited the park after so long. He visited to the park when he was kid but then his family migrated from this city somewhere else, he got shocked when he saw a lot of changes in park. But he went close to the tree he remembered he had scratched his name there and he found it was still there. “Mark”. He smiled but suddenly got shocked when he read what was written there. He wanted to reply her, he turned his head right to left to find something nip like or sharp then he saw Mrs., Sullivan she was cutting the apple he asked her for the knife and she gave it to him. He scratches there “suicide is nothing more than an admiration that you are looser”. And then he started his walk. He visit park for two to three days but he haven’t seen her. He felt sad inside his heart that the girl died poorly. He always noted that unknown old lady that she saw him with anguish eyes. He once or twice tried to say hello to her but she lived silent like silence. Then he believed that this woman is weird. But he found other people are strange but interesting. He likes Sullivan kids but never told them that he actually enjoyed their games and naughtiness. But Katrina is his favorite maybe coz she has such prettier smile. He has good hello hi interactions with Sullivan couple and a cleaver boyish smirk for Alex. He waited her for three days and fourth day he hasn’t come. But the girl comes that day.

She was alive, she sat on the same place and saw her scratch words, she smiled sadly and then her eyes slipped to the beneath of her decision and those lines made her smile, somebody was there who can feel her pain. She smiled and started scratching again; she thanked that stranger person for such amazing suggestion. She written there that she is not looser, but difficulties of life were made her tired and she decided to return to him. But she smiled that God send somebody who listened her. She smiled and today she notices the environment of park. She has no interest to make interaction with others except blonde beauty. The old lady was such creepy creature she has ever seen her life, in real somewhere she afraid of her she feels sometimes that the lady is look like her future. And these spooky and strange feelings gave her Goosebumps she doesn’t want to think about her not for a second. Sullivans were always an uninterested part for her; she doesn’t like married couple usually. Maybe she felt some where sadness for her own broken family. But yes somewhere inside her heart she wants them to live always together for their kids. Ohh yes she like them but never try to interact. It feels like now she wants some loneliness like that boy. Yes Alex, he is the only in park she felt so similar to her. Silent, alone, sad.

There love saga begin, they never visited on same days, they always visits opposite days or two three times it is happened. That they visit on odd timings. Ohh yes it happened, they both visited park same days but on different timings. There love story was written on the tree, he was so happy when he saw that she is alive, and their story was began from here. She was so happy that God sent someone in her life to safe her, a listener and motivator. While he was an atheist he didn’t believe in God, he thought if there is any God so the world is not facing disasters like she doesn’t faced the roughness of life. And she convince him that there is lots of people who have happy lives, and get over from issues like she done, it is all because of God. She has strong believes that God will never left her alone. That girl was a feminist and strongly believed on gender discrimination. She always a targeted man for so many reasons and the boy was always convinced her that we both are human and we must have to live together coz we made for each other. And she convinced mostly. And slowly they have become habitual the two three days change into one day gap. And slowly they started fell for each other.

And now its turn of Alex, Alex is visited this park daily for two to three hours. He has no any specific interaction with anyone except Katrina, he observes everyone but sit silently on his place, the area of cataract. He written his views about all of them in his diary include their stories and he must have to finish it as soon as possible.

But time is come to pass. And when it gone lots of things gone with it. We lost things with time. Like this park started losing.

The old lady has same routine nothing change in her but yes now she started visit once in a weak. And now days she was looking so weak, and coughing all the time. Maybe she wasn’t well. Life is not what we lived it’s all about how much we discovered it. That old lady life is based on her losses. She seems like the losing ones. She has pain, sadness and alone in her life. She blamed others for this like the way she look them. But she never gonna be believe in this that everything was her mistake. She didn’t give chance to her life. She just complained on everything happened to her. But didn’t try to correct herself or on second chance. Maybe in past she has everything in her life. Like beauty, money, power, family, love, happiness, reputation and etc. but now she seems so alone, so weak and helpless. Seems like she thinking about her loses and blame God for this but she didn’t want to correct herself. It is happened to some people they spent their whole life on blames and complains. Nobody knows why she lives like this, maybe it’s her choice to live like this.”

“Who said marriage is an eternal bound. Sullivans proved that phrase wrong. They were happy arrange marriage couple but with times there is lots of things change in their life like things seems change between Sullivans. Especially from few days. Mr. and Mrs. Sullivans seem different like always, maybe they ignoring each other. Yes they were with their kids, Mrs. Sullivan was shouting on them like usual, Mr. Sullivan play with them like always but they both are feeling like stranger for each other. What happened between them may be a fight like other couple has happened. Next few days they seem same, stranger each other. In few days they look like past, like they always were, they communicate with each other. But no physical interaction. And one day it was happened Mr. Sullivan came with his daughter and sat to one of the benches not his regular place. He looked twice and thrice to their place, which was empty, he kissed his daughter who was looking to much silent, no mess, and no laughs nothing. After few moments, Mrs. Sullivan came with her elder son and the infant. Mr. Sullivan and his daughter smiled and stand up. Mr. Sullivan met with his son and the infant one and she met with her daughter warmly. And they just see each other and shake their hands. Mrs. Sullivan sat on next bench with her daughter, and boys sat with their father. No mess, No laughs, No games there family was broken. They were become mature. Mr. and Mrs. Sullivan got separated. And nothing will be same like past. Mrs. Sullivan saw their empty realm but ignored. Kids want to spend time with their parents more than games and messes. And then they sat together with their younger brother. Mr. and Mrs. Sullivan were smiling but their kids lost their smiles. Everybody saw this but live silent. That park has lost the sound of those munchkins laughs.

Katrina was not visited from a week. Everyone feel her absence on the track. Coz she was the only one who interact with all of them. All of them though maybe her father dead. But that day her father visited to the park and a nurse was carried his wheel chair everyone got shocked and the boy suddenly come close to that nurse and asked about her. Nurse said, a week ago Katrina got her new job in a newspaper as reporter. She was on duty on crime spot and suddenly a horrible encounter happened between cops and criminals and Katrina lose her life.

And that park was never been looked that much sad and hurting. Each and everyone were cried for her, including those kids. Everyone was expecting maybe she lost her father but actually that poor man lost his only support. Life could never be friend. That old man who wants to end this hurtful journey and his daughter who wants to live now died and he is alive with all the pain.

The lovebirds also decided to start a new chapter in their story and decided to meet each other. And the day when they planned their meet up. The boy reached on a decided time, and he spent four hours in her wait but she hasn’t come. He saw other random girls that if anyone of them visits to this place of tree but no one come. And he looked sad. That old lady saw him, he was upset and stare her with doubts. But then take deep breath and left the park. He visited next day, same. Third, fourth, fifth and it gone for a week. But she never visits.

“Do you really believe that she loves you”?

The old lady asked him and he nodded.

“Then wait for her if she is yours she will become”. She said and gone. The boy keep visited park daily on this hope then one day she will come. He has so many doubts from life and health. As he lost his hope on life. But he and other noticed from that day that old lady was also not come. And one day he decided that it is his last visit if she has not come he will never come back here. And after long wait he left the place with lots of tears.

Is this the end of their story?

It was over a month gap when that girl visited to the park. On her wheel chair. She had an accident Sullivans and Alex has asked her about all this. She visited to the place and cried allot. She scratched on tree that she was not cheater. Than cried again. She left park again, her second visit was after 2, 3 months.

So yes there love story ended here.

No Alex don’t want to believe in this. Life is unpredictable. Sullivans also left the park; they never visit after the day when the boy left.

Alex was leave alone there and the only one who remains same He just put his diary on his lap and keeps writing all the time. He was only child of his milliner parents. His parents were amazing couple; they love each other and love him too. They are perfect as parents, they give him time, money and love and taught him good manner. But there uncounted money is not enough for their son’s health. Yes Alex was diagnosed with a serious disease and doctors say there are 0 chances of survival, only miracles can do something. They shifted here some months ago on his wish he wanted to live in this beautiful city. And he becomes addicted with this park and the corrector.

He observe everything and written it on his diary.

“Life is strange thing, nobody is perfect and no one has everything there is always something missing and incomplete in our lives. We always lost things; we always lost people and relations. Life could never be fantasy like Novels. The thing which is matter is the moment. The moment which we have is ours. It is a blessing from the God. We should have to live in the moment we get. A single moment can be a best memory of life. Remember Alex, nothing is permanent or forever. So accept it what you have and be respectful toward your own.”

Alex wrote this and took deep breath. And close the diary. And write it on the cover. “Spring of the autumn” he wanted to write his name but stopped. Then he writes “Anonymous”.

It was his last day here and now he has to leave this city for always. He stood up and goes close to the cataract and put that diary there. With this hope that one day if this park got some new characters so maybe anyone of them read their stories.

People changed, faces changed, seasons changed. But in this park the spring of autumn live forever. The park is empty those places are empty but that dairy remain there and waiting for the reader.
