Unsettling Memories.

The Airport was just five miles out from the Hotel, and I strongly regretted not just renting a Car at one of the outlets. Everything had happened so fast, and the last few days on work threw me way off balance even though I thought I'd planned properly. Apparently that wasn't the case, since I was a complete mess with my thoughts due to being too distracted by things that were pointless. Gladly Calum was there to drive us around, and I was grateful for his friendship and kindness.

'And we are here,' Calum announced, as we pulled up alongside the Hotel's driveway.

'Whoa, this is a nice Hotel.' James exclaimed and I smiled as I hopped out the Car with Calum and James following suit.

It was huge Hotel after all, and many Valets and Security Guards were posted outside, waiting to take Vehicles to the designated parking lot. It was the safest Hotel for Children and teenagers, and a tad bit pricy but manageable since it was just three days.

'Do you want me to come up?' Calum asked, and I could sense that he was feeling nervous, due to our past.

Even though we remained Friends, and kept in contact, that night still bothered him and me equally. I could see it in his eyes every time he looked at me, but it wasn't my intention to hurt him. I may have rejected his offers, but I had good enough reason, despite them being because of Russell who didn't return the feelings.

'Well you can't just leave me here with the boys and the bags. Besides I'll probably take a while to get myself and Ryu freshened up.' I joked and he chuckled.

'Ok boss,' he commented and I blushed, turning around to the back of the car to avoid his gaze.

"James, get your Brother out of the seat. Don't leave it this time." I ordered and James quickly got to work, getting Ryu out of his car seat. I smiled as he cooed down at Ryu, who seemed giddy and excited to be in a new City.

'Good afternoon Sir,' a chubby Valet, with tanned skin and a freckled face greeted us. Dressed in his Uniform of red and gold colors.

'Take good care of her.' Calum ordered gently and the Valet smiled at him, with a slight blush and I shook me head. 'We'll be back down in an hour from now, so have it ready by then.' He spoke and handed the guy a crisp ten dollar bill.

'No worries Sir,' the bubbly Valet smiled and took the money, as James appeared beside us with Ryu on his back.

His brotherly love with James only grew each day, and I cherished their friendship as any Father would. Although they were close before they were adopted, I got to witness most of it as they grew into their new lifestyle daily. I loved every minute being their Father, and I couldn't help the happiness that they brought to my life.

'Ok let's get us checked in.' I announced as I grabbed two of the suitcases, walking off towards the entrance of the Hotel Lobby.

Calum pulled the other suitcase along, and walked beside me as we entered the Hotel. The air conditioning assaulted my sinuses instantly and I grimaced, but managed a smile as we piled up at the desk. There were three women, all dressed the same Uniforms, but only one dealt with a customer so we approached the vacant desk to the left.

'Good afternoon Sir, checking in?' She asked and I smiled at her. She wasn't the most attractive woman, but her makeup was done to perfection, highlighting her high cheekbones and full, pert lips.

'Yes Ma'am, reservation is under Kai James.' I spoke as I handed her the Reservation slip.

The blonde woman took the paper, and scanned it throughly and began typing on her computer keyboard. It was already the first day of the Reunion, and we had until 12:00 to get there. Luckily we had landed at exactly 10:00 so it gave us much time to get freshened up to head out again.

'Adjoining rooms, with City View. One adult and two Children,' she announced and I nodded as she handed me the Keycards in a neat Paper Pouch with the Hotel logo printed on it.

'Thank you,' I flashed her a smile as I took the key cards, and she clicked away on her computer once again.

'Your Reservation also comes with free Wifi, and 24 hour access to the Restaurant on the Fourth Floor. The room also comes with a Play section for your little one, and childproof Bathroom and a safe Balcony if he should venture outside.' She explained and I nodded, grateful that I wouldn't have to worry too much.

'And what's the Room number?' I asked and she gazed down at the Computer Screen then back up at me.

'Room 506, just take the elevator to the left and press Five for the fifth floor.' She explained and I nodded.

'Thank you,' I smiled at Here and she returned it.

'You're most welcome Mr. James, welcome to the Playa Blanca and enjoy your stay.' She flashed me a warm smile and I turned to Calum who was texting away on his phone, while James and Ryu observed their surroundings in interest.

'Come on guys,' I announced and James picked up his Brother and we all strolled towards the Elevator.

It didn't take long for us to find our Room, and Ryu was the first to start jumping on the bed in his socks. Calum offered to be my friendly chauffeur for the whole weekend, following the Reunion so I didn't rush getting freshened up and changed.

Monday it was back to Chicago, then returning to work. James would be missing a day at School, but he had an almost perfect attendance. Except for sick days, and some days when I would just randomly let them stay home.

I would homeschool him on those days, which were mostly my days off when I wanted to just spend time with them. Ryu would start Kindergarten in a couple years while James is just returning back to school for April.

I had almost forgotten about Russell, but that only lasted a matter of hours, since he was sure to be at the Reunion despite my wishes that he wouldn't show. I would find myself randomly thinking about the kiss we shared, but it haunted me every time I remembered him saying Lucy. So it wasn't always good memories, and I hated myself for it.

I hated that I gave in to my own foolish desires, only to be shot down hard by Russell who had trouble coming to terms with himself.
