Chapter 5

*Kymil’s POV

“Anyways, I’m most curious about you. It’s not every day a commoner like me can sit down and talk with an elf.” My gorgeous little Elixir asked, facing me while snacking on cheese and crackers I got for him.

“Come on, Elves aren’t that rare—well if you’re looking for an elf like me, I guess I am pretty rare.” I said with a smirk and he broke out into his adorable giggles. Ah! He’s just so adorable.

“Oh Kymil! Come on, just tell me.” He said and I chuckled.

“As I told you, my dad is an avariel—you know the winged one? And my mom is Greyhawk—but to break the stereotype, my mom is really sweet. It’s just that she’s from north, so you know, snow elf, greyhawk and they are not feral.” I said while chuckling at the fond memory of people freezing up as soon as they heard mom is a greyhawk.

“Chill, I’m not discriminating or anything but—wow, your race is really something. I haven’t seen an avariel before, I thought they lived on another realm.” He said like a child lighting up about knowing something new. “You took after your mom as well didn’t you? Uhh, you don’t have wings.

“That’s true. But It’s okay, dad always complained about his shoulder after flying and besides, it’s cold up there maybe I’m better off without wings.” I said and took his hand before eating the cracker he’s holding and eating it.

“Hey! That’s stealing!

The truth is. Everything I told him is just half of who I really am. He knows me as Kymil Elsandoral while the truth is I am Kymil Miraxis, not a greyhawk nor an avariel but a high elf. A royal line, one can say. My family had led Mairaxias for centuries and I lead the troupe of warrior elves, making me basically, their general. But I’m not going to tell my little Halfling about that, maybe soon but really, not now. I feel like he’ll get intimidated.

“But I shall serve you in those ways you require and the honeycomb will taste sweeter coming from my hand.” I recited after swallowing the piece I just took from him.

“What?

“It’s my favorite part of the wedding vows that my parents made.” I said and reached out to him, tucking a lock of hair behind his hair. “It means that as long as my beloved will live, I will serve him with all of my heart and soul.

The cute little Halfling suddenly turned red, starting from his neck into his ears.

“S-stop being so cheesy!” He said and hid his face with both of his palms.

“Oh babe, You—your ears are so red, adorable!” I said and cupped his cute little ears that are also a bit pointed, a little fae’s ear, so cute.

“You’re so cheesy, I thought elves would be like—a bit more intense and you know, intimidating.” Eli said and finished his drink.

“Oh, trust me, I’m intense.” I said and did the same to my own mug.

“I don’t see you as intense at the moment.

“It’s cause I’m intense somewhere else.” I said with a wink and Elixir just began blushing again.

“I hate you.” He said while burying his nose in his scarf.

“Too soon?” I asked, invading his personal space.

“At least take me to dinner first.” I said while giggling at the close proximity.

“Then let’s get out of here.

---

After our little date by the lake, I bought him to my favorite hotel restaurant that specializes in serving dishes that are mostly from the produce that the East supplies.

“I have reservations for two under Elasandoral.” I said and the nymph who is going to be our server for tonight led us to a relatively nice table. The restaurant itself has a good reputation.

“After you.” I said to my sweet little Halfling who just smiled widely as I pulled the chair for him. He laughed and sat down before draping a lick on his lips.

“You know Kymil, I really couldn’t predict you.” He started. “You make me feel giddy at an unexpected time. It’s nice.

“I guess my wooing won’t be for naught tonight then?” I said and nodded at the server who gave us a menu.

“We’ll have to see about that.” He said and closed his eyes for a bit as a new piano piece came up. Elixir is probably one of the most gorgeous fae I have ever seen and trust me, I’ve seen a lot of gorgeous people in my lifetime. From his light brown hair, his cute button nose, light blue eyes, and freckled cheeks—he’s just so cute. Not to mention he’s just so hardworking and he has this beautiful smile.

He’s a real catch indeed.

---

“Here’s your Skillet cod with lemon and capers, pomegranate glazed duck breast and sides of mango salad gentlemen, enjoy.” Our server said while placing the dishes.

“Can we have a bottle of Sangiovese with these?” I asked.

“Very well sir,” He said before departing.

“I see you know your way here. You’ve been here a lot did you?” Eli asked while placing the napkin on his lap.

“My mom is fond of this place.” I said while placing my napkin as well.

“I don’t really have dates like this, next time, I’ll bring you to a place that I like.” He said as we began eating. I forgot, he’s younger than me. I smirked and chuckled when I realized he just invited me to another date.

“What?

“So there’s gonna be a next time.” I said and he just blushed.

“Only if you want to.” The Halfling timidly said and I bit my lip to stop the grin that is about to break out of my face.

“Of course I want to.” I replied. The waiter came back and poured us some wine before leaving the bottle on an ice bath. Eli took a small hesitant sip before smacking his lips with his nose scrunched up like a cute little bunny.

“I though this is going to be like, uhh, bitter but it’s sweet. It’s lovely.” He said and smiled at me making me mirror back, taking a sip and finally digging into my own food.

“I’m glad you like it.” I said and began eating silently. I want to ask him about the East, his homeland but I feel like he gets a bit sad every time he mentions it. I get his thing, even I would miss my home.

“Say ahh~” I heard him say making me look at him and burst out laughing. He is holding his fork up with a piece of some salmon, totally focused on me with his mouth motioning mine to open. This should be illegal—him, being too adorable that is.

I promptly opened my mouth and ate what he offered me. Hmm, I haven’t had their salmon here before, it’s quite good, especially if it is being fed to you by an angelic man. “It’s good, now try some of mine,” I said and doing the same to him with my duck meat. He smiled widely and took the meat, chewing it slowly before having a sip of his wine. “You being this cute should be illegal, seriously.” I said and dabbed my mouth with the white napkin from my lap.

“Well my cuteness comes along with the whole package.” He said while giggling making me laugh as well. “Don’t worry, you’ll compliment my cuteness with your sexiness.

“I am very sexy, have you seen me in the morning when I haven’t fixed my hair. Sexy indeed.” I said making him giggle.

After a few while of exchanging some pleasant words, submerging into a light conversation involving our hobbies, what we’d like to do and things like that, a slow romantic piano piece played. I stood up and held my hand out to him.

“Would you like to dance?” I asked and he nodded, taking my hand and standing up. I pulled him to the wooden dance floor. A few couples are already there, slowly swaying to the music.

I pulled him close to me, placing my arms on his waist, pulling him close to me. Eli just giggled and placed his arms around my neck as we sway to the slow music that is being played. I swear to god, my face is gonna break with all the smiles I’m having today.

“Thank you.” Eli whispered.

“Hmm?

“For you know, taking me out on a date.” He said making me pull him even closer.

I twirled him around before I learned into his ear with a grin. “I’ll take you to as many dates as you want Eli.” I replied inhaled his beautiful pomegranate scent. “Not because you told me but because I really want to date you, Elixir.

“I—I don’t know how to be a good boyfriend.” He said and pulled back a bit. Well, I’m having none of that. I pulled him close to me and poked his side to make him ease up a bit.

“Just stay as yourself. It’s enough for me.

“What if—“

“What and if are two words that are not as threatening as two words can be, but put them together side-by side and they have the power to haunt you for the rest of your life.” I said, quoting a cheesy movie.

“Did you just quote a movie?” he said with wide unbelieving eyes while I just responded with a shit-eating grin. “Oh my god I hate you.

“Well, we wouldn’t be on a date if you truly do.” I teased and he giggled.

“I know.

“You’re so adorable that I want to keep you in my pocket and carry you everywhere I go.” I said and kissed the top of his head. “That sentence is so wrong and I sound like a stalker slash kidnapper.

“Oh Chaos, Only you Kymil, I swear. Only you.
