Chapter Eighteen: Im proud of you

"Ahmm" someone cleared their throat and I immediately pushed Ozymandius off me.

There stood a man in his late 60's and he could totally be recognized as the late king. He was very well built just like Ozymandius and had the same features like Ozymandius and Alexander.

He stood there, an amused look on his face.

My face was red of embarrassment. This was the most awkward moment of my life.

I felt Ozymandius grasp my hand and lead me to his father.

"Father this is Pearl, my mate." said Ozymandius, confidence radiating from his tone.

"Hello sir, nice to meet you." I said, motioning my hand forward.

He didn't reply. He just looked at me. His face showing no emotion and on the other side my heart was racing. I shifted uncomfortably from one foot to another.

And then suddenly out of nowhere, he hugged me. I heard a chuckle emit out of him.

"Hello Pearl." he stated after breaking the hug, a smile still tugging his lips.

"It's a pleasure to meet you. No need for the formalities, call me Jonah. And we don't need to have this formal relationship, you are my daughter now." he stated.

I nodded smiling. His words soothed me from inside.

"Now Ozymandius, I would like to talk to you." Jonah stated.

Ozymandius gave me a look and walked out of the room.

And just as he walked out, Alexander made his entry. He too was wearing a tuxedo except that it was grey.

"Someone looks good today." I complimented.

"Thank you luna." he stated with an additional wink.

"Ugh not again with luna shit!"

"So how much time is left till the ball starts?" I asked him.

"Umm I think 40 minutes." he said looking at his bare wrist.

"Good so I need a favour from you." I asked him.

This had been something that had been bothering me for some time since now and this was the best time to take action.

"Can you take me to the prisons right  now?" I asked him.

"What?" he asked totally surprised.

"Yes, you heard right." I replied.

"But why?" he asked.

"I'll tell you when we reach there."

"But I have not even agreed to it!" he said.

"Unless you want me to tell Ozymandius about the credit card..." I continued.

"Ozymandius is going to kill me!" he whined.

"That would be so cool!"

I held my dress in my hands as I walked down the steps to the prisons.

"I still think this is not a good idea." Alexander told me.

I ignored him and led him to the cell where I had seen the girl. 

She was still there. Her clothes were extremely dirty. I could spot dried tears on her face in the dark as she sat on the cold floor.

" Open the door. " I asked the guard.

He did so and I walked in while Alexander tottered  behind me.

"Omg! why is there a child in here?" he suddenly asked.

"That's what I wanted to ask you. Why is she here?" I replied back.

I took a step forward towards the girl who had now stood up. She looked like she was scared of me and moved some steps back until her back hit the wall.

"Hey.. I'm not going to hurt you. I'm here to save you." I said, stepping towards her. I put my hands on her thin shoulders and she looked up.

Her lifeless grey eyes looked at me and then she wrapped her arms around me and started crying.

I bent down and wrapped my arms around her.

" Shsh its okey. Now tell me why are you in here?" I asked her.

I wiped her tears and put her on my lap as I stroked her hair.

"I am on omega, my mother served the Browns but one day there was a robbery in their house, they accused my mother and to punish her put me here." she sobbed.

"Omega? What's an omega?" I asked.

"It's the lowest rank of people, like slaves they are to serve a family." Alexander told me.

"How could he put you in here without any evidence?" I asked.

"A prison guard was his freind, so he asked him to put me in prison."

And after saying this she began to sob extremely loud.

I looked at Alexander who looked furious right now.

"Why are you crying little one? You are a warrior, you are the bravest person I know. I promise I'm gonna take you to your mama." I assured her.

"Right now?" she asked, her eyes sparkling with hope.

"Yes." I told her.

"Okey now tell me whats your name and whats your mothers name?" I asked her.

"My name is Flora and her name is Tiana Adam."

"Can you hold Flora?" I asked Alexander.

"The law forbids children to be in prison." Alexander stated.

"We are gonna solve this." I reassured him.

We had now reached the hall where the ball was taking place. I had realised that we were extremely late but anyway the guard opened the door.

Everyone looked at us as we entered. I tried to find Ozymandius and there he was on the stage. We made our way to the stage as people created way for us.

"Where were you?" Ozymandius asked me as he glanced at Flora.

"I'll explain but right now I want a favour from you. I want to make an announcement. Can I?" I asked him as I put my hand on his chest.

"Yes." he said as he grasped my hand and pulled me into the center of the stage.

Everyone looked at me now. But this time I wasn't scared, I was confident more than ever.

"Hello everyone. I would like to call upon Tiana Adam on the stage." I said.

And soon a lady who seemed in her late 30s started running towards the stage, she was already crying and could be easily recognized as Flora's mom.

"Mommy!" Flora ran up to her mom as Alexander put her on the floor. The mother hugged her daughter and it was the best feeling I had witnessed since long.

"Now I would like to call Mr. Brown on the stage." I said.

And soon that filthy man was walking towards the stage.

"This man, owned an omega Tiana Adams, one day he accused her of robbery in his house and to punish her imprisoned her 5 years daughter!"

There was a gasp from the crowd.

"And we all continue  to live our lives peacefully, not knowing that a kid is in prison. A palace guard was Mr Brown's friend and he bribed him to do this work for her. As your queen, I order to imprison Mr. Brown immediately!"

There was a round of applause from the crowd as the guards handcuffed Mr. Brown and carried him to the prisons.

"Maybe I don't know since how many years this system of omegas has been going on but all I know is that from now on there will be no omegas. No one is bound to serve a family anymore. Where the world is fighting for equality, we too as a pack should take a step. So today, as the luna of this pack I announce to abolish the system of omegas."

No one spoke a word, everyone looked at me with their mouths open and in shock, but then Ozymandius spoke up.

"The king and Queen carry the same status in this pack, therefore this decision is final." His voice radiated so much authority that a shiver ran down my body.

"And we are gonna take immediate actions to find that palace guards." Alexander spoke up.

And then Ozymandius put his hands on my waist and  pulled me closer to him as he breathed in my scent.

"I'm proud of you amore."

And then his lips met mine as the whole pack burst into a round of applause.
