CHAPTER 4

After their discussion, Ella excused herself and immediately went home to her comfort zone. She didn’t give a chance to Tim and Dan to talk to her.

Rosey was worried about her sudden disappearance, but gave her space and decided to confront her after a few hours.

Dan and Tim both wanted to talk to her, but she didn’t give them any chance. Soon after Dean left, even she rushed out of the cafe and they were not able to catch her. There are lots of unspoken things between them. Dan wanted to talk to her about her escapade six years back. He wanted to be angry at her, yell at her, hold her, love her, and grow old with her.

He might be getting a little ahead of himself, but Ella was and always has been the love of his life. But what if she has a boyfriend now or worst a husband and a kid or two?

One thing that hit both Dan and Tim was that why is Ella working as a manager. She should be overqualified for this job, and working in the cafe was never on Ella’s list. She has always been ambitious and had planned her career-long back and was getting to her goal successfully.

Ella went to her room and cried for hours. She waited for her daughter to come back home. As soon as she came, Ella engulfed her in a tight hug. Ella was scared for her daughter and herself. One could say that she wasn’t thinking straight and was coming to conclusions. She knew the fact that Dan was a nice person from the heart, but any person would be furious to know that he had a kid which he didn’t know about. And there was a high chance that he might take her precious daughter away from her.

Her mother’s strange behavior confused Lilly. After dinner, Ella tucks her in bed and was enjoying her moment with her baby with moist eyes and a smile on her face.

Her moment was soon broken by the doorbell. She was greeted by her best friend Rosey and she finally broke down. She told everything to her friend about Dan and how and why she ran away from home. She talked about her fear. She did feel better after pouring her heart out to Rosey.

Ella knew that now Dan is in town, it was impossible to hide Lily from him and he has every right to know about his daughter, but she was scared.

She would have to tell him soon and she will but at the right time.

Dan was worried sick and was pacing in the hotel room when he suddenly felt a hand on his shoulder, which belonged to Tim.

“I know what you are thinking, Dan. Those are also my exact thoughts. We will find the truth soon enough. Don’t worry Dan, she is the same Ella whom we had known, same Ella whom you love and who loves you back.

“You can’t say for sure. She could be married with kids.” He said with a frown.

“Maybe, but she is not married, that’s for sure. I didn’t see any kind of wedding band on her finger and as for kids, you know how Ella is. No kids before marriage.

Dan chuckled at the memory. He remembered it quite well when they both were talking about their future while cuddling on the couch. She clearly stated she wouldn’t have kids until she is married. It was a big no for her.

“And as for love, I saw it in her eyes. She still loves you.” Tim said, assuring him.

“Then what was the guilt that I saw in her eyes?” Dan asked, confused.

“Well, that you will find out soon enough.” His best friend assured him. “But just remember that this is your Ella. There has to be a reason for her to pull the disappearing act.
