Chapter 01

As you can probably guess, my childhood is the most confusing stage of my life. I had to learn how to control my powers and handle them with so much focus, careful as to not freeze my own fireballs and spread the flames in me. But there was a time where in I accidentally burned down our kingdom with a single blow. It was horrifying and thankfully, nobody was severally injured.

It was a huge struggle to control the intensity of each power as I grow up. Every day, I could feel my powers swirling around inside of me, pulsating as I become stronger. My powers are so secured, that I am the only one to ever have them radiate off my body. They reflect a halo like glow, following every curve of my body.

Since I reached 18, my body stopped aging and the sad thing about that is the thought that I'll continue watching the people around me eventually meet their ends.

My best friends Fayette, a Tempus, and Purgeous, who you can just call Perry is a Sorcerer.

We meet up at the abandoned church between our fractions every day, bringing offerings from each other's fractions. Usually, Fayette won't bring anything because she's lazy and pessimist. I don't blame her though, she's the angel of death and I'm sure she has seen and done things she's never wanted to see and commit.

On the other hand, Perry would always bring mixed potions, which usually caused us getting drunk and waking up in the church the next day. Those potions had enough power in them to kill a 500 ton beast from the greater beyond.

The greater beyond is a place on the edge of Vudos that separates us from the enemy known as Argetty. It is a place which place people like me into shame. They are mostly immortal like us and have characteristics that aren't human like. I've only heard stories and legends of The Argetties creating beasts they conjure up from various creatures and cross breeding them. I thought of the day I'd actually come to face one, thinking what or how I'd react.

My answer, probably, is fuck myself because I’m doomed.

I'm an average built teenager with curves on the right places. I have a chocolate colored hair with a white streak on the edge of my bangs. I was born with gray eyes, but because of the power within me, they change depending on my mood.

I am currently at the abandoned church waiting for my friends as I lay on my back, playing the snowflakes between my hands when the door busted open and I heard them giggling as they stumbled in.

I addressed without a look, "Sup, losers."

Perry blew the snowflakes from between my hands, "You're an asshole."

On the time he said that, there was a slight cracking sound and they vanished.

"Fayette, knock it off." I said, rolling my eyes.

I heard a voice to my right, "Don’t hate me because you're not me. I have power over every life."

The angel of death is now threatening me, huh?

I swatted at the invisible silhouette, "The hell you do, I'm immortal."

She reappeared knowing I was right. She has nothing against me nor can she kill me. I chuckle within myself. She sat next to me on the bench as minutes later Perry came stumbling in, laughing.

He ran up to Fayette, "Stop doing that, I get motion sickness very easily, you know!"

She giggled, with rolling eyes, "Wizards."

I shook my head laughing along with Fayette, her laugh was so unique and contagious. It's rare to see her laugh, but when she does, the angelic side of her Tempus life appears.

Perry faced me with his hands on his waist, "So are you really going to marry Hunter tomorrow?"

I heaved a sigh.

Prince Hunter is a Blyze. I'm currently the first in line to be wed with him; of course it’s my obligation as the Queen Amora of my fraction, the Rogue Avalans. He isn't a bad guy, he's actually quite nice for a brute but I don't feel anything when I'm with him. I've always felt something deep within me that there was more to life than this. I've always dreamt of a place of humanity and real love and I wanted to experience something worth fighting for.

I heaved a sigh once again, "Have you guys ever dreamt of what real love felt like?"

"I have seen what love does to people through their time lines and from what I saw- it’s really admiring, but sometimes ends in tragedy. It can be really dangerous, Amora." Fayette uttered worriedly.

Perry groaned in annoyance, "Fayette, would you stop being such a pessimist for once?" Then he turned at me, "Do you know the feeling you get when you use your fire power?"

I looked at him, "Yes?"

"What about your water and air powers? Do you remember how it feels like?"

I nodded, "Where are you getting at?"

"It's like you are the fire, and when you meet that special person in your life, they become your water. The magic that happens between you is like losing the air inside you."

I thought about his analogy and considered it, which I think somehow makes sense. I'm sure I could meet someone who’d make me feel breathless yet is the reason why I’m alive.

I raised a brow, "Do you think there is someone out there for me?"

Fayette questioned, "Like in another realm or this one?"

“In another realm perhaps; a place that’s far from this chaos which is filled with happiness and unity. Unlike here…” I stated, whispering the last words.

Unless you’re a royalty, you need to suffer. What a cruel place.

“I believe there is, father would always mention about a place of democracy, where people have their free will to choose and speak up. Legends say that you could be whoever you want to be, and of course, love who your heart really wants.” Perry said smiling dreamily, like he’s on cloud nine.

I asked, "The munds?"

I know exactly what he is talking about, but it could be risky to go if we try to. The munds is a place where people like us would never befit because of our peculiarity. If we get discovered, we’d most likely be tortured. They’d probably think of us as monster… and that thought terrifies me.

And if we decide to go, a lot of responsibility would be put on me because I should have something worthy to show when I return, especially because I am part of the royals. Perry and Fayette would have no issues because they are just common wizard and angel. They’re lucky, huh?

I wasn't sure, but what I am certain is that I want to experience love. I want to find that someone out there… the water to my fire. There had to be more to love than arranged marriage and I was willing to sacrifice everything for it, even if that means losing my immortality and traveling to The Munds.

Is it going to be worth the risk?

Is love worth it?

I spoke, "I'm going to The Munds."

They both looked at me like I've officially lost it. Fayette looks at me boringly, while Perry looks like his jaw is about to drop. What a stupid friends I have? I laugh to myself.

"Are you crazy? That is really dangerous, what if we get caught or worse you lose your immortality?" Fayette rambled.

"I'm in; don't have to ask me twice. In fact, I could use a little mundane entertainment." Perry said standing up.

So we just have to convince Fayette now. Great!

I drew my hand up and conjured up a mini rain storm, placing it above Fayette's head.

She pouted, "Fine, but if we die there, I'm saving myself."

I smiled turning the rain storm into a sunny day with a visible rainbow. Perry added a bunny to the creation and Fayette mumbled under her breath.

She swatted the image away, "Do you guys want me to help you or not?"

I rolled my eyes, "You know you love us."

She ignored us and squatted down to the ground, placing her hand on the worn out floor boards. I had to shield my eyes as a white mirage like puddle shimmered below our feet. Fayette held out her hands for us to take, so we took each one of it.

"You might want to hold on tight, this may hurt a lot."

My eyes went wide, "Wh—"

I haven’t even finished what I’m about to say but she right away jumped into the portal, pulling us behind. I looked up at the opening as it disappeared after our departure. I felt my insides clenching and my stomach inflamed. Just what the fuck, I feel like my whole body is about to be ripped apart.

She giggled, "If you think that's bad, wait until we reach The Munds portal."

Perry shrieked loudly, too girlish for a man his size, "I see it! I see it!" He shouted pointing down.

I looked to where he was pointing and saw thick steel like portal coming into view. The portal looks like it could shatter my bones. It won’t just break my bone, but literally shatter into pieces.

My eyes went even wider, "Oh hell nah!" I tried to swim back up.

I felt the pain burst throughout my entire body and I knew I was right, the portal had shattered my bones as I lay on the cold hard ground.

I watched Fayette shuffle around growing more and more impatient as we waited for my bones to repair themselves. Of course, it may take seconds to repair. I groaned in pain, and once I felt somewhat repaired, I grunted while sitting up and immediately noticed that Perry wasn’t around.

"Where's Perry?" I asked hoarsely.

She pointed up with a smirk, "There."

I looked up to see Perry's bottom half sticking out of the portal, rolling my eyes; I got off of the ground and walked over to him.

I yanked him out, "What? Did you change your mind?"

He dusted himself off, "No. I got stuck when Fayette fell out before me."

She flicked him off, "Got to be faster than that, Witch."

"Come on, we don't have time for you guys to bicker. I have to contact Constantine."

Fayette raised a brow, "Constantine?"

I have been doing a lot of research over the years after I have become fascinated with this realm. I have found out that some of the Rogue Avalans had moved into this realm to avoid the separation in Vudos. Constantine is one of the remaining Rogues, if anything he might be able to help us out in this realm.

I sighed and pulled them to the nearest alley way, making sure that we are alone. When I felt comfortable that we were in fact alone, I drew up a pen and paper, writing a quick message. I put a tracking spell onto it and sucked in the air around me, gently blowing on it and sending it down its rightful path.

We waited a few minutes before a screeching sound penetrated my mind, I heard a voice, "Follow the wind to the North, once you've found the orange glow, unmask the spell and I'll take the protection spell down, but only for twenty minutes. So you better move fast and please be safe, Amora."

I fell back into the wall holding my head, if I would have known I had that power, I would have reached out to him via mind rather than old schooling him.

I grabbed both Fayette's and Perry's hands and turned us invisible, without wasting any more time, we flew to the North, following the orange glow ahead of us.

Hopefully, our actions would be paid off. This journey is full of uncertainty and risk. Our parents must be freaking out right now, but I am hoping for the best.

I thought as I feel my body turn around the sky. Ugh!
