Chapter 1

"Hey you"

Sarah looked up and wondered why he didn't ever use her name. Standing up from where she was bent scrubbing she bowed in mock respect "your highness"

"get me a glass of milk" prince Isaac spoke without even sparing her a glance.

Sarah was not surprised. He used every chance he got to remind her that she wasbeneathh him. He made her his messenger even though that was not among her required duties.

But she didn't allow his actions or the actions of anyone in the palace to bother her. As long as she had the library to read books as she pleased as well as the privacy of her room she was content.

On her way to the kitchen she met the queen's second son. Once again she wondered how one woman could give birth two people who were very differnt in character. She stopped to greet him.

"greetings your highness" she started to bow when he stopped her

"how many times have i asked you to call me Daniel? At least whenever we are alone"

"am sorry i always forget" she told him still looking down. Looking up into his gorgeous eyes may make her forget where she was. She couldn't risk that.

Daniel used one of his finger to raise her face up "am right here.. Not on the ground" he smiled at her

Sarah's eyes widened a little and he dropped his hands to his side. Seeing that he was making her uncomfortable as other servants had began to stare, he gave her a parting smile and continued on to his chambers.

What would he not give to claim her as his. He wondered if she cared about him even though a little.

The more he thought about it the more he realized that the matter of whether or not she cared for him was insignificant compared to the fact that they were prohibited from having any form of relationship.

He hated the idea of associating with only those of your class but he was helpless to do anything about it.

He rubbed his temples tiredly. He needed to stop thinking about such things and instead think about a solution to his mothers illness that was getting worse everyday.

Sarah hurried back to prince Isaac's room giddy with excitement. She walked carefully to avoid throwing down the glass of milk she was carrying even though she wanted to run, jump and scream with joy. This was what talking to Daniel always caused. He made forget every other thing except him.

She couldn't help the way she felt about but she didn't hope it would result to anything since she was way below his class. She was content to love him from afar.

Her favourite time of the day was watching him train with the other warriors. The way his muscles rippled beneath his shirt when he clashed swords with his opponent awed her.

She knew she had no right to feel the surge of pride in her chest whenever he won a fight but she couldn't help it. Moreover no one knew so she was safe... she liked the imaginary world were she had claim to Daniel than the real world where it felt as though he was so far from her reach

She broke away from her thoughts and hurried to the prince room. Before she entered she made sure to erase all traces of emotion from her face.
