Chapter Five- Birthday

The double doors sprung open as a yelling angry voice boomed inside the wide room.

"Care to tell me where the fuck have you been Samuel Darlington?!" Jester quickly went infront of Sam's desk and banged the wooden table, ignoring the pain in his fist.

Sam jolted up and looked at Jester with wide eyes. Then he remembered, he wasn't able to tell the lad what happened because his phone turned off indicating that the battery had ran out. He knew he should apologize before the lad would burst in anger and worry.

"Calm down Jes, I'm fine see? I'm still in one piece." He assured, gesturing his whole form sitting on the leather chair.

"You should've called me then you little-...puppy." Sam raised a brow as he chuckled at the nickname. Jester promised himself and to Sam that he wouldn't let out a bad curse-name when he's angry, only when he's teasing and same rule goes to Sam. It was a cute rule for bestfriends but both knew that even threats and curse words don't mean anything serious, they're just empty threats that will never be full.

"I'm sorry okay? I know you're worried, I couldn't call you because my phone went off and those guys hit-" Sam stopped as the words accidentaly slip from his mouth. He didn't want to mention it to Jester, or atleast not now since he knew how the lad would get. But it seems like luck wasn't present. He closed his mouth as he saw the other's confused face.

"What... guys?" He cautiously questioned Sam as he stepped closer. What did those 'guys' do to his bestfriend that made him unable to talk with the other? Sam noticed Jester's brows getting even closer with each other until it was only a few centimeters apart. His pink lips were pressed in a thin line as he gazed at Sam who awkwardly rubbed the back of his neck.

"It was nothing really, I was just-"

"Samuel."

Jester's stern voice told Sam not to lie anymore, probably because his bestfriend could easily see through him even more than his family, except for his older sister. He took a deep breathe and moved around the table and sat on the couch as Jester sat at the opposite one, a small table separating them. He glanced up and saw Jester looking at him expectantly.

"Alright, don't get mad. I'll tell you everything." Jester leaned back and crossed his arms as he listened to Sam. " I walked last night since there was no taxi available at the moment. Believe me, I never wanted to but I didn't want to waste my time waiting either. On my way home, a few guys messed with me. Well, they were about to like rape me or something I guess but someone saved me..." Sam breathed out as Jester leaned forward, getting interested on his bestfriend's knight in shining armor.

" He beat up those guys and even before the fight, I knew they were scared of him. I heard them calling him beast but I wasn't able to witness the fight since I was freaking scared. Soon, I just woke up in what I assumed was his house. He fed me breakfast, gave my things back and even replaced my broken glasses. He was actually a good person."

Jester stood up and went infront of Sam, their legs touching as he looked at a slightly worried Sam. Then suddenly, he lunged forward, wrapping his arms around Sam and hugged him tightly. Sam sighed and felt relieved as he hugged his bestfriend back.

"I was so worried when you weren't answering my calls. It's not the first time that happened but I'm your bestfriend and It's my responsibility to keep you safe. Just don't... walk alone at night again, alright Sammy?"

Jester pulled away as they both smiled at each other. Sam nodded as they stood up and put an arm on each other's back, looking at the glass walls.

"By the way, did you catch his name?"

Sam grew stiff. Jester noticed this but didn't say anything as he waited the other to reply.

"No, I didn't."

Jester nodded and rubbed Sam's shoulder. "Alright, we have work to do. Don't forget about the party this evening! I'll pick you up at your apartment at 8." That was what Jester said before he got out of the office, leaving Sam to think about those beautiful green eyes again.

Theodore...

It was a name too cute compaired to the owner but maybe because even though he displayed a scary aura, there was something inside of him that's worth calling cute. If he got the chance to meet the guy again, he'd grab the opportunity and maybe even ask if they could be friends. The idea made Sam a little happy inside. The guy saved him anyway, maybe he could trust him then.

A knock was heard and the door opened, revealing one of BREE's employees peeking his head and smiled at Sam.

"Goodmorning Sam, you're next meeting is starting in five minutes. Jester will be there, he just went to the restroom for a bit."

Sam smiled back and stood up from his chair. "Thanks Cris, I'll be there in a moment."

Oh how Sam wished the day to end already.

10 hours later...

"Jes, I swear this isn't the place for me."

A firm grip was latched on Sam's arm as Jester dragged him to a club. They were still on their working clothes which means the navy blue suit that Sam was wearing didn't help the situation at all, considering it was a rather hot night compared to yesterday.

"Oh come on Sam, loosen up a bit. Everybody promised not to tell your father anyway so you're safe. And besides, since it's your first time, Glorious is the best place for you."

Sam sighed, knowing he was again defeated and didn't argue more. The two of them, together with atleast twenty more, went in line. It was Sam's turn when the guard stopped him with a rather confused expression. He looked at Pearl who was by his side, making sure everyone got in.

"Are you sure he's not underage?"

Pearl chuckled and poked the guard's large bicep with her elbow.

"No Jack, he's twenty-two right Sam? Show him your I.D." Sam did what he was told. Jester laughed inwardly as he knew how Sam always had that baby face that always makes people mistaken him for being a minor. His height didn't help either.

"Alright, get in."

As soon as the double glass doors opened, the scent of sweat and alcohol hit Sam's nose making him wince. The room was a bit dim as the only lights were red and blue. He sat at a booth that had four chairs. He sat at a chair that gave you the view of the doors since the scene of dancing sweaty bodies made him felt suffocated. Beside him, beside the wall, was Jester who was opposite Lay. Lay was beside Pearl who was talking to a waitress.

"So, how are you feeling right now Sam?" Lay questioned as he leaned his chin on his hand. He was the type of guy who was chill and would go for any new adventure. He'd go for anything, as long as he could also benefit from it.

"Fine, I guess?" Sam shrugged as the waitress came and gave them their drinks. Sam was relieved as he tasted the sweet flavor of iced tea. "Thanks Pearl." Pearl smiled as she drank from her glass of beer. Lay stood up and yelled 'happy birthday' to Pearl as their officemates all clapped and raised their glasses. Pearl thanked them as they all chatted with others.

Suddenly, a familiar scent hit Sam's nose. He perked up and looked around, expecting to find those captivating green eyes. The double doors bursted open and there stood four tall men.

They all went to the bar stool as the bartender gave them each a glass of what Sam thought was wine. A girl, dressed in shorts that almost looked like an underwear and a crop top with heels suddenly made her way to the group as she swayed her hips from side to side. A few wolf whistles were heard from drunk men but she just ignored them and latched herself onto the large guy's bicep.

She twirled a strand of her hair as she talked to the guy with white hair and golden highlights. Sam didn't know what they talked about but soon, the two left. Jester stood up, and excused himself.

"Guys, I need to pee for a bit." Jester soon disappeared as he went to look for the restroom. Sam was internally debating if he should go and talk to his green-eyed saviour as he stared from afar. The tall man felt a pair of eyes behind him so he looked back with an angry expression, expecting to see perhaps another guy who was foolish enough to challenge him. As soon as their eyes met, Sam smiled. He was about to stand up and make his way to the guy but he stopped as the two identical men talked to him and went away. The green-eyed man gave a small paper to the waiter as he made one last look at Sam before following suit, disappearing to the thick crowd.

Sam slouched back to his chair as he pushed up his glasses.

"What's wrong Sam?" Lay asked as he noticed the sudden change of aura from his boss. Sam looked up and smiled as he shook his head.

"N-nothing, I'm fine." Sam replied as he furrowed his brows when he remembered something. He glanced at his expensive watch and roamed his tired eyes around before planting them on his two other companions.

"It's been like fifteen minutes, where's Jes?"

As soon as Jester reached the door, he immediately went in and slid inside a stall. He opened the zipper of his slacks and breathed with relief as he let the acid flow out of his system. In the middle of his session, he heard moans and kissing noises. He groaned in irritation.

"Oh come on, get a room whoever you are. This is a restroom which basically means this is where you pee, puke and poop. This ain't a bedroom where you get to make ugly babies."

The door from his stall opened, the running footsteps of heels vanished as a tall man stood behind a ranting Jester. He closed his zipper and flushed the toilet before turning around.

"Ugh, stupid hormonal addi-OW!" He rubbed his forehead as he noticed that he bumped into something or rather someone. He opened his eyes and was met by a tanned six pack abs and well-toned pecs that glistened with sweat. Jester swallowed nothing as he slowly looked up and met a pair of sharp, piercing black eyes.

"Uhhmm, can you like... move away?"

The guy looked down at Jester as his face went closer. A smirk was plastered on his face as he looked Jester's face over.

"What a beauty. How much for your service?"

Jester widened his eyes as he stared at the guy with such disgust and disbelief. "Excuse me?! My ass isn't for sale so fuck off you horny bastard!" He pushed the guy away as he made his way to the sink. The guy was looking at his butt as he washed his hands. Jester saw this from the mirror and he turned around with an irritated look.

"Can you please stop?! I don't even know you!" Jester hurriedly went out but before he left, the guy called out for him.

"I'm Hawk, nice to meet you cupcake. Till next time."

Jester rolled his eyes, "Yeah right, keep dreaming pervert 'cuz next time ain't happening."

Hawk chuckled as the boy left, " What a sassy little cupcake."

Jester went back to his chair as Sam and the other looked at him, confused. Jester crossed his arms over his chest, irritation was evident in his eyes.

"Where have you been?"

"Long story Sam, I'll tell you on our way. Let's go?" Sam nodded as they bid goodbye to everyone. Before Sam could leave, the bartender stopped him as he handed Sam a paper. Sam muttered a confused 'thanks' as he went out and sat inside Jester's car as he began to drive.

He opened the paper and saw a neatly written short note.

If you break your glasses again...

Sam smiled as he grabbed his phone and saved the number, humming to himself as he thought over.
