Chapter 4: Club Night Out

I started to clean the portraits, if it wasn't cause this work pays good, I would've quit already.

"Stop the noise, some of us are watching a movie." Laura said.

"And some of us are working to make a living. See not everyone is blessed to be born in a crib made of gold." I replied before going back to cleaning.

"Oops." She said while spilling her glass of wine on the rug, which happens to be white and Mr King's favorite. He brought it from Europe.

"Laura!" Shawn said.

"Shut it babe, it was her own doing." She said while dragging him away.

"Just my luck." I sighed.

I started to clean the rug but no such luck, I tried every cleaning product, but it just made it worst. I started to cry cause I know this shit is gonna cost me.

"What's the meaning of this?" I got up and saw Mr King angry.

"I can expla-"

"Shut it, this rug cost me a lot, so you're not gonna see salary for six months."

"Please don't, I need that money so bad." I said as tears started to fall.

"Should've thought that before spilling wine on my rug." He said before leaving. Why can't something good happen to me. I'm so tired of this family.

I finished cleaning the rest of the house. I was so tired, It was eight pm. After everyone finished eating. I grabbed a plate with food and started to eat.

I washed the dishes then went outside. It was a beautiful breezy night in L.A. I went to sit near a tree, it was so peaceful.

"Sorry about earlier."

"Doesn't matter, she got what she wanted. Now I don't get to see salary for six months, thanks to your girlfriend."

"They can't do that."

"Well they did, now I'm stuck in this place that I hate, with people who love to be anything but nice."

"That may be true. But there are exceptions." He said while standing up. I followed I followed him.

"Maybe, but still your family is rude. you can go tell them if you like."

"I mean, what else can happen? No salary for a year? With or without your mouth running it will happen. So go ahead, tell them." I said with crossed arms.

"You say that all we care is about money. But here you are complaining about money."

"Because unlike you, I need it for bills, food, medicines. Your parents pay for everything you two want. I have to work my ass off. And not even then is enough to pay for-"

"For what?"

"Nothing." I said as walked away, but he grabbed me and pulled me closer to him. Our eyes locked for an instant, and just like that, the moment was over. We pulled away from each other.

"Sorry, but enough for what?'

"I said nothing, now drop it." I told him before leaving. He just sighed. Why tell him something so private, not like he cares for anyone but himself.

.........

After that night, he didn't ask anymore. This weekend I had it free. I was going out with Donna to her cousin's club. I needed this night so much. Saturday morning and afternoon I was spending it with my dad and Emma.

"Sissy, we're gonna watch Disney movies all day." She said excited.

"Yes we are, hope dad is ready for some princess time." I said while tickling her, she just giggled.

"I'm always ready for some time with my princesses." He said while hugging us.

"Good, daddy. Cause we're gonna start with the little mermaid." She giggled.

And that's what we did all day watch movies, dad cooked us lunch and dinner. After our movie marathon. Dad took Emma to her room, she was already sleeping.

"Donna is outside waiting for me. I might end up sleeping in Donna's house, is that okay?"

"Of course, go have fun." He said before giving me a kiss on my forehead. I waved him goodbye and left.

After 30 minutes, we arrived at the club and it was packed. The music was pretty cool, I actually couldn't wait to dance. This is exactly what I needed. Although I'm not a party person, I needed this night. So much stress in that mansion of hell.

"Shots?"

"We're not legal to drink." I said.

"Chillax, my cousin got this cover. Well just for tonight."

"Fine, I'll kill you tomorrow." I said as she chuckled.

"Shots for me and my girl." She said and the bartender gave us the shots. We started to drink, not gonna lie I ended up spilling the first one. But after the third one it wasn't bad. Shot after shot I was feeling like I was walking on cloud.

"Now let's dance." She said while dragging me to the dance floor. I let loose there. It felt so good to dance and just for one night feel free with no responsibilities.

I saw Donna walking to say hi to some girls, I kept dancing, but I ended up bumping into someone. "Sorry. But you were in my way." I giggled.

"Harmony?" He said.

"You're so hot. You remind me of this tool I work for." I chuckled while grabbing his cheeks.

"How about we dance and we talk about this tool." he said while putting his hands on my waist.

"Okay." I said as we started to dance.

"Did you know he has a bratty girlfriend and sister. They're so annoying I wish I could ship them off to Antarctica." I said and he just laughed.

"He also lets his girlfriend boss him around. He would be better off without her. I have to deal with three spoiled kids."

"If it wasn't cause I need the money for an important surgery. I would've already quit."

"Surgery for who?" He said sounding confused.

"For my little sister." And those were the last words before I passed out. Nothing like passing out in the arms of a stranger.
