Chapter Eight

And now that he finally knew everyone's name, she has to keep on eye on Walter Hayes and Liam Hamilton...

"Just give me some time to think about your proposal, okay? I'll see you around,I need to go back to Walter." Serena said,in a hurried manner.

She didn't dare to look back on Liam because he might stop her from leaving him. Her first impression on him was he's the type of guy which is full of passion, and he's too emotional. He's totally different from Walter.

Walter Hayes is such a gentleman, dashing, charming and a cool-headed man.

She's now wondering on why Elizabeth cheated on Walter eventhough she's about to get married to him.

And she's going to find out the answer to her many questions.

Now,she needs to go back to Walter and gather more information as much as she can...

Walter drove her home after having a meal together at the hotel. She couldn't breathe properly as she was amazed by the marvelous building. It was Elizabeth Montecarlo's official residence back in the year 1945.

It screams of elegance and it was obvious that it's only for the rich and the famous.

"I-I live here?" Serena stammered, while still marvelling at the place. Well, technically, she doesn't really "live" here, but she needs to act like "Lizzie."

"Of course, darling. You absolutely adore this place though I already offered you one of my properties for you to stay in..." Walter answered.

"So...Where's my unit?" it was too late for her to shut her mouth before she realized that it was a stupid question.

"Oh well, that's understandable. You just moved here a week ago so you're still not getting used to this new place. Come, let me escort you. Let's go up." Walter graciously offered.

"Oh,thank you, darling." Serena said,as she gave him a quick kiss on his check.

Why the hell did I do that? Anyway,it's just a simple peck and she freakin' liked it!

She just let him lead the way, while secretly observing the place. They went inside the elevator and pressed the number 8 button. After a few minutes, they are now walking on a carpeted hallway. She can't help herself but to admire the interior design of the hotels back in the forties...

Walter suddenly stopped at a certain door which has the number 208 on it. She did a mental note about eveeything so that she won't have more problems in the future.

"Thank you for walking me home, Walter." she thanked the man.

"Few weeks from now we'll be sharing a home together, darling. I can't wait for that day to come." Walter states, while tenderly gazing at her.

Serena's really flattered by all the attention she's getting from this wonderful man. He's so sweet, romantic and a well-mannered man. If she really lived in this era as herself and not as Elizabeth Montecarlo, there's no doubt she'll fall deeply and hopelessy inlove with Walter.

"I'm sorry but I'm really tired today and I really want to take a rest. So...I'll see you when I see you?" she tried changing the topic.
