Chapter Seven- Night

Ben's pov

Henry had left him a will

His face brightened. Henry had not forgotten him. To Henry he was always blood brother, Even though Henry had many other cousins from his father's side. Yet he was his dearest.

"What is he left to me" I asked eagerly.

"Not so fast Caption. Henry Lockhart's will waited to be opened all these years just for your return. This neither the place nor the occasion. So you can wait till tomorrow."

Gregory Winston was smirking sensing his eagerness and anxiety.

That smirk...

Ben felt his heart beat raising. Something was not right.

"To know more about the late duke's will, be at my office tomorrow morning sharp at 10 o clock. Don't be late"

“One more piece of advice to you Hart. Believe and not to believe is your choice. But believe in what is right. Believe what you want to believe not what others make you believe.

Gregory Winston walked away with that leaving him confused.

“What is that Gregory Winston wanted him to believe? And not believe. He tried to read between the lines.

Henry left him something. What that could be. He hoped some money or some farming lands. He was not greedy but he needed money for his family. Else his mother will sell him again. And he was not ready for that. He decided to return home with an uncertain mind of new hopes of tomorrow.

When he reached home his mother and sisters were sitting around the table. They were chatting about another event Bianca has to take part. Seeing him they stopped chatting. Room become silent.

"Did you drop Miss Hardly home" Mary Hart asked anxiously. And she was eagerly waited for results.

"No" he said uninterestingly and tried walk away from there.

"Benedict Hart, Don't try to run away and come here and answer me properly."

His mother ordered in sharp voice.

"I am not running away mother. I was just tried" He tried to reason with his mother as he was not in a mood to fight.

"Really Ben, Then why didn't you drop Miss Hardly home? She is a nice young woman "My mother said again in sharp voice as if he was guilty of something.

"And wonderful woman who became pregnant at age of sixteen with her sister's husband child." Beatrice said sarcastically to help him. But that didn't stop his mother.

"But error humane. It was just a silly mistake happened in a tender age. She was fooled by that man. You can give her second chance in life."

Mary Hart countered Beatrice with a sharp warning look.

"And you will get money from her father.".

Bea...

Mary Hart looked angrily to her elder daughter. But this Beatrice was ready to face the music. The naive obedient Beatrice was long dead.

"Last time it was from Clarisse Greene. Now Mr. Hardly. Your sellers are always good mother. Willing to do anything to sell their damaged goods to you. Bea said mockingly.

"Whatever I did was for my daughter's good future. Last time it is for your marriage Bea. This time Bianca." Mary Hart justified herself.

"For me mother. You were working hard to save your false pride. Then what happened to mother, Look at me mother I am living ruin of your pride. Beatice was ready to lock horns with Mrs. Hart.

" Stop It Bea. Let me fight my own battle." He said sturdily.

"What about me mother? Do you ever love me? You are selling me like a commodity. My happiness was never a matter to you. This time I am not selling myself." His voice was strained with pain. He was in fact broken.

"Then your sisters will suffer. You little money is not enough for Bianca's dreams nor Andrew’s greed" his mother said that without any emotions. She was hard. And Benedict felt hurt with that confession.

"They won't. If I am the man of the house I will manage." This time he walked away from there without looking back.

His room was silent. Amy was not there. She must be with her cousin.

Thank god for that. He needed solitude. Alone with his thoughts and betrayals. Pain of losing the love and betrayals of your closest hurt more than anything in the world

His night was eventful and earful.

Cassandra and her tales of seductions.

Cassie and Winston.

And

Henry's will.

God has shown a ray of hope to him today.

Tomorrow is a big day for him.

He hoped all his problems will be over by tomorrow.
