CHAPTER 4

"Dad, I'm so sorry but I can't marry her. I don't want to marry her. We already talk about this, right? Then, why is there an invitation to come out for that engagement party?" I'm angry right now, my blood is boiling yet I control my anger in front of my father.

He's ill, and I don't want him to get stress.

"Androus, son. I already agreed on this thing with Guevarra's family and this is final. You're going to marry her whether you like or not. Please. Son, grant my wish."

"Dad--"

"Androus, I'm not doing this for myself. I'm doing this for yourself and for your future. I don't want you to be like that for the rest of your life. You spend yourself having sex with various women at the bar, playing their hearts. Get rid of that anger in your heart towards them. Remember, your sister is also a woman. How would you feel if a man treated Laila like that? Wouldn't it hurt you as his brother? Same with them, Androus. Yes, you're mum cheated on me, she hurts me for how many times, she left us, she may not have been good to you, but not all women are like your mother Androus."

"Dad. This is me. What I am doing, makes me happy. No one can take that away from me. Please. Understand me too. Because I do understand you. I understand that you're doing all of these for me to get better. But, Dad, I already have grown up. I know what I'm doing. I know what decision to make for myself. I'm not a kid anymore to follow your decision. You know how much I love you, dad. So please, do not tell me what to do."

"Androus, the engagement party is already fixed. You can't back out. You can't run. Many businessmen will come that day. So please, don't embarrass me in front of them. Please. Before I idea, grant my wish for you."

Damn this! This can't be happening!

Marry their daughter? For what fucking reason? To get more wealth from us? I already know that. Everyone knows that Lhorton is the richest in the Philippines and that Guevarra is second only. They want our wealth! That's the fact. They are fooling my father's head to push me toward their daughter.

"Dad, I can't--"

"Androus, you will--"

"I have already had a fiancee dad!" I couldn't control myself anymore, and I yelled out. Dad was shocked and so am I.

Shit. What did I just say?

Fiancee? Who?

"Fiancee?" Dad laughs out. "Are you kidding me, Androus? How can you get a fiancee when you're fucking multiple women all day? Come on, don't try to get out from this--"

I cut him off. "No, I'm serious. I may not tell you about this. But she's living in my unit now." The hell I say. "I can introduce her to you. So cancel that engagement party, as soon as possible."

"No. I'll only cancel that if you introduced to me your finance first."

"I will. I will introduce her to you."

"I want you to bring her to my birthday party."

--

I came back to my company. As I walked into the lobby, my employees stood up from their cubicle tables. I stop walking as they stood up and bow their heads on me. They remain to bow down their head until I didn't walk away.

I looked at them very carefully. They are all girls. In the second lobby were men.

I stare at them from head to toe.

Failed. None of them can pretend to be my fiancee.

Damn. Dad's birthday is on Saturday. That basically means 2 days to go. Shit! Where can I find a woman who can pretend to be my fiancee? Shit.

I continue walking until I reach my office. I comb my hair in frustration as I sat down on my swivel chair.

Fuck that engagement party. It sucks! Totally sucks!

The door of my office opens, from the outside, my secretary showed up.

"Sir, Miss. Cassandra is here."

Shit. What is she doing here!

"Let her in." I coldly say.

"Yes, sir."

And Cassandra enters.

"Androus." She sweetly called my name followed by a bright smile that grew on her lips. She walks towards me.

"What brings you here? Shouldn't you be in the hospital?" I ask her.

"Actually, I already finished my work early. I went to Chairman Lhorton's room hoping to see you but he said you went to your company so I came here. I'm inviting you for dinner if it's okay with you?"

"Of course, it's not okay with me," I say, straightforward. I laid both my hands on my desk. Her sweet smile on her lips immediately disappeared.

"If you're doing this for the reason that my dad and your family agreed with us to marry each other, well I'm telling you to stop doing this stuff."

"Androus--"

"Cassandra, I don't like you. You're like a sister to me. If there was a guy who liked you, it was Akihiro. So, If I were you, I will pay all my attention to him--"

"Androus!" She interrupted me loudly before I could complete my sentence. "You're being so straightforward! Where did you find guts to talk to me that way!"

"Maybe because I'm Androus." I shrug my shoulder and gave her an amused smirk. "Look, I don't want to hurt you so as early on, that is why I'm telling you this. The engagement party will never happen. So stop. Don't me."

"You're... You're totally a jerk." She says and leaves my office quickly.

"Thank you for reminding me. I almost forgot that I'm a jerk." I slipped out a sarcastic in my lips.

I stoop up, got out of the office and leave my company.

I need some rest.

I need a piece of mind, to think om how and where should I look for my fiancee. TSS.

In the minutes, I arrived at Lhorton's Hotel.

When I parked my car in front of the front door, I immediately heard my sister's voice. She's shouting, angrily.

I quickly got out of my car and there I saw her that she was shouting at her female worker.

Damn. It was another day for her employee to be laid off.

"Look what you've done! Do you know how expensive these blankets are! Then you just burn it ! You! I paid you well here but you can't even do your job well! Now! You're fired!"

"Miss? I'm. I'm sorry, Miss. Please, give me another chance. Please, Miss. I need this job. I badly need this job. Please, Miss. Give me a second chance--" the girl begs her while bursting out of tears.

"Don't you dare touch me! Leave my sight now! You're so disgusting!" Laila pushed her causing the woman to slip on the floor.

I shake my head for what my sister did. I haven't seen her angry like a lion.

"Miss. Please. I-I really need this job. I really need mo-money." The woman almost whispered, but Laila just ignored her and left.

She needs money.

A bulb light up in my head.

What a lucky day for me.
