A Wolf's Desire

"Herman, what are your plans for the future?" she asked as they walked past the tall skyscrapers after they had finished their dinner. He took her hand in his, but instead of feeling happy, all that she felt was emptiness. Sadness.

She couldn't focus on what he was answering her with, as her mind was still on the stranger. She felt guilty, but then, knowing Herman's temper, it was best she kept mum about the incident. After all, the man was saving her from a possible fall.

"Herman, it will be Mid-Autumn Festival soon," she muttered. They had been dating for close to half a year, but she didn't know how he felt about her just yet. He turned her around to face him and put his hands on her shoulders.

Herman could be considered one of the most good-looking men in her faculty. He was tanned and had a muscular physique. He also had extremely charming eyes, a sharp nose, and an even sexier mouth. As enchanting as he was, unfortunately, his looks were nowhere close to the man earlier.

She knew she should get her mind off the man, and how else to do it without using Herman? She flashed him her most bewitching look.

"Herman, do I look pretty today?"

He decreased the distance between them and gazed into his girlfriend's eyes. This was the first time they had stepped outside university grounds, and he had yet to give her a proper kiss. But just as he was about to land a kiss on her lips, she turned around nervously, and his lips brushed against her cheek instead.

"What's wrong, Zhi Xun?" he questioned with a confused look.

"Herman, I'm not ready."

Her answer threw him off balance. After almost six months of knowing each other and being a couple for three months, they had not even come close to any physical contact. Now that he was outside university grounds, Herman thought he could be lucky. What did women want when they asked their beaus if they looked pretty?

"But you asked earlier..."

"Sorry, Herman, I... I thought I was ready..." she stammered.

"You don't like me?" he looked at her sadly with his begging eyes. He knew Zhi Xun had to have a soft spot for him; otherwise, they wouldn't have come so far.

"No, it's not like that at all..." she stuttered, trying to rid her mind of the image of the handsome man from the library. "I do like you, Herman... it's just that I'm not sure what I want now..."

He took her in his arms and cradled her against his chest.

"Zhi Xun, we have been together for three months. You have no reason to be afraid of me," he said in a gentle voice. She looked at Herman, watching his attractive physique towering above her. A man like that was the type who would give her security, but why was she confused after meeting the stranger? She flushed away her thoughts of the man earlier and attempted her best to accommodate her boyfriend, but she found it difficult. Every time she closed her eyes, she was thinking of the man.

"Herman, I think I'm tired. Do you want to come by to the apartment on Sunday and we could chill over a few movies?" she suggested, eager to get out of her predicament. Maybe some sleep would help in clearing her mind. Herman gazed into her eyes and shrugged.

"Well, there's always next time," he said. His eyes glistened as he thought about being alone in the apartment with Zhi Xun. He could always create some opportunities to be alone with her, after all. He would start by sending a few tickets to a concert to her roommates and get them out of the way, and voila, he would be alone with his Zhi Xun in the apartment.

Herman understood that he was Zhi Xun's first, and she had no prior experience with men. He knew that he had to strike when the iron was hot, and claim her as his before she fell prey to other, more handsome and probably even rich men. Her family issues often bothered her, and she had spoken to him about how she hoped they could be together forever, and work hard together to resolve her issues in the future.

Was she that naive in thinking that he would marry her after graduation? Herman wondered. Like any other man, he had needs, and the fact that she was a virgin meant he would have to go without that for a very long time. The mere lack of physical contact between them was already daunting to him. He severely wanted to unwrap that gift in front of him, pry her legs apart and find out what she was keeping hidden from him all this time. He wanted to experience being her first.

But for now, he had to be patient and play along with her.

"Okay, I'll see you then on Sunday."

She blushed and smiled innocently at Herman, thanking him with her eyes. Of course, she hadn't known what a wolf Herman He was, or even his own sexual past. He was good at acting, and he often pretended to be a gentleman to get into her roommates' good books. All she knew was that her aunt would find a way to marry her off to some rich older man, due to their poverty. She planned to graduate and get a good job, then marry Herman and together, they would work hard and earn lots of money to cover her mother's medical fees and their family's financial debts.

Little did she know, it wasn't at all that simple. Herman was even more devious than he appeared to be. On the surface, he was good-looking and kind, but deep inside, he was worse than an animal. He was ruthless, selfish and heartless. She, on the other hand, was naive and innocent. Soon, she would belong to him, and he wanted from her, what she had denied him from all this while.
