Chapter 2

The new bodyguard that my father hired to watch over me was arrogant, full of himself, and daring. For a man who lived from a paycheck, he was simply unbelievable, and he discovered my darkest secret on his first day!

No, he should go! I decided.

I couldn’t be at peace in my home when he’s around. Aside from his arrogance, his good looks threatened my pledge not to involve myself in casual sex. I accepted the fact that something’s wrong with me, but being promiscuous was not on my list. I may have used my finger or some sex toys to pleasure my body, but I had no experience with men.

I shivered at the thought that I would inherit my mother’s sexual preference. I shook my head in refusal to accept my fate. Whatever it would take me to be different from her, I would take the risk.

Perhaps, it’s time to order some additional toys, I thought. I made sure that the door was locked before I browsed the store’s website for their latest products.

Ten inches dildo? No way! I stared at the monster dildo online and I couldn’t believe that it would fit into someone’s body!

I browsed some more and found several interesting items on the store, but I preferred the vibrator as usual. I added at least five items into the cart, but before I paid for my order, I went to the cabinet where I stored my collectibles and counted them.

Do I need a new design? I asked myself. I counted at least twenty vibrators, different styles, and sizes, but they all have the same functions. I sighed as I walked back towards my computer table and turned off my laptop without paying for the things on my cart.

Instead, I called my father to talk to him about Alexander. However, he wasn’t available to entertain my call. I tried several times, but I got the same result. In the end, I gave up.

I went to the window, opened it, and crossed my arms as I breathe the fresh air from outside. I lived alone, no, I used to live alone on the third floor, but the darn bodyguard insisted on staying at the room next to mine.

In Keiraville Heights, most of the houses were multistoried. If Beverly Hills was famous because of the rich people who lived there, Keiraville Heights was famous because of the modern multi-story houses in the entire subdivision. The development company, owned by my father, was strict in its rules to only build modern houses in the area, and most were made of glass.

I let a deep breath as I stared into a distance. I had to do something in my free time or else…

“A penny for your thoughts?

I turned around to see the very man I despised, standing confidently a few meters away from me, and I raised my eyebrows to question why he came to my room uninvited. Although I frowned at his presence, I failed to intimidate him. “What part of you’re fired that you didn’t understand?” I scolded him.

Alexander chuckled and joined me by the window. “I told you that you can’t fire me, Miss. I work for your father, remember?” He responded, with a tone he shouldn’t be using while talking to his boss.

“I’ll call him right now!” I left him by the window and retrieved the phone on my bed. I dialed my father’s number, and just like earlier, I got the same reply, to leave a message on his voicemail. After several attempts, I gave up and cursed under my breath.

“It will be hard to reach him, right?” He asked as he stood calmly at my favorite spot in the window.

Slowly, Alexander walked towards me and only stopped when he was at least a few feet away from where I stood up. “What do you know? You’re only a bodyguard!” I studied him from head to toe, and not even once, that he felt uncomfortable.

Alexander shrugged off his shoulders and said, “Maybe I’m just a bodyguard to you, but this is a noble job, Miss.

Did I say it wasn’t a noble job? The man knew how to choose his words to make me feel guilty. However, we couldn’t stay under one roof, or worse, under the same floor! “How much?

A line appeared on his wide forehead, and I thought that he looked more attractive when he’s confused and wondering. “What do you mean?” He asked.

“You’re only handsome Alexander, but you are slow,” I replied, and he shook his head as if to look down on me when I was way above his class. I narrowed my eyes at him, and challenged him to talk back!

“Now I understand why you can’t get any man to help you relieve your itch! You’re only pretty, but you are the meanest woman I ever know in this world!” He fought back with harsher words that made me flinched in anger.

Relieve my itch? What? Did he take me as a slut? “I am not what you think! I’m not a slut!” I shouted at him.

He nodded his head, and strolled towards the…connecting door? Did he dare to open the connecting door to my room? He stopped, turned around, and I assumed that he would apologize, but he didn’t! “The word comes from your mouth Miss, not mine.” He said and continued to walk away.

When Alexander opened the connecting door and entered it, I followed. “Hey, I’m still talking to you! You can’t just walk while I’m still talking, damn you!” I shouted.

He turned around and studied me as I was a fine specie under a microscope! “Miss, are you hitting on me?” He asked, and I stared at him, confused about how should I react to his question.

“Hah, you’re not my type, Alexander!” I disliked him as early as our first meeting.

“Xander,” he replied.

“What?

“I said, just call me Xander.” He stated, and I shook my head in denial that I wasted a few minutes of my time to follow him, to talk to him, when he was not worth my attention!

I stormed off from the room he occupied and returned to mine. Frustrated at the arrogant man next door, I searched for angry quotes from Pinterest and shared it on my social media, then I received a message from Dad, that I couldn’t fire the man that my cousin recommended to guard me.

Like hell!

I tried to reach my father but his phone was turned off. Frustration summed up inside me and I had no outlet to vent it out! Now, that someone occupied the room next to mine, I couldn’t be careless.

Right! The connecting door!

I could put a heavy object beside it so that Xander couldn’t open it from the other side! What a brilliant idea. Immediately, I searched for something I could use to block the connecting door, and there was only one, that’s heavy enough to be moved – my bed!

With all my strength, I pushed the upholstered bed, but it didn’t budge. Perhaps the couch? I tested my strength, and when it moved a little, I pushed harder. Twenty minutes later, I sat on the couch by the connecting door, and crossed my legs, as I checked my Instagram account.

We'll see if he can still open it, hmmm! I giggled at the thought that he could no longer bother me inside my room. I smiled triumphantly as I dialed my cousin’s number, “Where are you?” I asked as soon as he answered the phone.

“I’m in the office, why?” he replied.

“I don’t like the bodyguard you recommended to Dad,” I heard him chuckled on the other line, and his reaction infuriated me.

“He’s the best I have right now, Emma, and your father liked him.” He replied.

“What about my preference? I hate that guy, he’s arrogant, daring and-”

“Extremely good-looking, and a hunk.” He finished my sentence, and my nostrils flared as I disconnected the call.

What should I do? My head hung on the edge of my bed as I tried to search for ways on how to make the bodyguard resigned on his own. All of a sudden, a light bulb appeared on top of my head as a brilliant idea presented itself! I laughed like a devil as I got up from the bed and checked myself in the mirror.
