Until I Met You

Chapter 1

Anna sat by the ocean, admiring the view in front of her, She watched the people pass observantly, taking note of any important things she saw.

She always came here after getting into a fight with a friend or someone she was close to. This time it was her best friend, she saw her best friend being flirty with her crush and that made her a bit angry so Anna talked to her in private and got shocked hearing the truth. her best friend is in a relationship with her crush and she wasn't planning on telling Anna. that got her furiated but she didn't do anything instead she stormed out the school and went to the ocean and she wasn't going back to their friendship again after finding out about that.

"I knew I'd find you moping here," her brother, Anthony walked up and sat beside her.

"I'm not moping, I'm thinking," Anna defended.

"Sure," Anthony looked at her with a small smile.

Anna couldn't help but smile back. the siblings were extremely close and rarely fought. They were always by each other's side and helped each other out with everything.

The pair was quiet as they looked forward, looking at the people pass and listening to the sound of the ocean gently hitting the land.

It was calm and peaceful. They were silent and were relaxed. That was, until a rag was placed over both their mouths, knocking them unconscious.

No one noticed this happen as neither of them made noises and everyone was walking in a hurry, places to go to and more important things to worry about instead of two teenagers sitting on a ledge together.

It wasn't until many hours later that the Liu siblings awoke, feeling metal below them.

"Good, you're finally awake. Follow me, I'll take you to the Director's office," a voice spoke from the shadows, for some reason emphasizing 'director' as though it was a proper noun.

The siblings looked at each other in confusion before there was a loud noise that startled both, coming from the same place the voice had.

"I said follow me,"

After a second, Anthony slowly rose to his feet, Anna following.

The three all began to walk forward, the siblings still not knowing who they were following or what they looked like.

They were Asian and tall, and spoke in a very broken English, obviously not fluent. They were wearing a mask, so all that could be seen was their eyes and black hair. From what they could see, he was probably in his late 20s or early 30s.

"Knock, then enter," the man instructed with an accent, sounding Korean.

Anthony and Anna made eye contact before Anthony slowly reached toward the door and knocked.

"Enter," a voice spoke, also with an accent. The Liu's were beginning to think they might not be in America anymore, especially based on the sign on the door that said something in Korean.

The two walked into the room, which turned out to be an office, and saw a lady sitting at the desk, probably in her early 40s, though it was hard to tell.

"Welcome, please take a seat," While she had an accent, it was clear she was fluent in English, unlike the man.

The two took a seat in two chairs provided, right in front of the lady's desk.

"You two are probably very confused right now," the lady began speaking. She paused, but not for long enough for either to speak, although Anthony would probably be the only one trying to speak, he was the talker of the two. Anna was a very quiet person typically, but she spoke a lot around her family and her few friends. Around this woman, she definitely wouldn't be saying a word unless she had to.

"If you haven't already figured it out, you are no longer in America. You are in South Korea, at a training facility, ran by me. I am the Director. That's all you'll know me by, and I, along with all the trainers and everyone here will know you by your numbers, You," she pointed to Anthony, "are 2100, You are 2101," she told Anna.

"W-Why are we here?" Anthony questioned when he finally got a chance to say something.

"Rule number 1, do not speak unless spoken to, I will let that one slide, however, since you just arrived. Another slip up and there will be...consequences. But I will answer your question this one time. You are here because we have selected you two to join our program. Our program trains teenagers to be more...skilled. You will go on missions for us and do what we tell you, no questions asked, Understand?" the Director finished.

Not knowing what else to do, the two nodded slowly, still not understanding.

"Good, now as I understand it, neither of you actually speak Korean, do you?" They shook their heads no. The two only fluently spoke English, although Anna spoke a little bit Mandarin since one of her friends was Chinese, so she had taught her a little of the language.

"Then you will be required to study at least 2-3 hours a day of Korean, along with the normal training. You will be assessed on your skill and given you schedule tomorrow. While you're learning, I will assign you each a translator, who will be another member of the program, you'll meet them after this," the Director stopped speaking and looked at the two confused teenagers.

"I will send the translators to your rooms in a half hour, which will be all the time you have to shower and move into your rooms," she spoke as though the two hadn't literally been kidnapped and brought to another country, on a completely different continent, and they actually had brought personal belongings and clothes.

"The same person who brought you here will now bring you to your rooms, they are across from each other," the Director dismissed the two, who still had no clue what was going on.

Without speaking a word the two stood up and began to walk out of the room before the Director's voice stopped them.

"Before you ever leave a room, you bow to everyone withing it if there is an authority figure present," she instructed. The two turned and bowed with slight hesitation.

"Good, dismissed."

This time the two actually exited the room. The man was still standing right outside and as soon as the siblings walked outside, he began walking in front of them, obviously intending for them to follow him.

After about 10 minutes of walking in an awkward silence, they arrived at a door.

"2100, this is your room," the man instructed in broken English, but that didn't make his voice any less intimidating.

Anthony made eye contact with Anna before slowly walking toward the door and opening it, entering and closing the door hesitantly.

"2101, this is your room," he pointed to the door directly across the hall.

Anna entered the room without a glance back and shut the door quickly.

"What the hell is going on?" she breathed out in a whispery tone as soon as the door fully closed.

After a second, she went over to the small twin sized bed that was in the corner.

The room consisted of a bed in one corner, nothing in the other, a dresser in the third and a desk in the final one, a window in between the desk and bed, but there was something weird about the window. It was very small, maybe a 2 foot square, and was obviously made of plexiglass, making it hard to shatter.

After investigating everything for about 10 minutes, she discovered that she had clothes in the dresser, all very uniform and the same, aside from one pair of pants and shirt which was made of cotton, it's purpose being sleepwear.

Eventually, Anna went into the bathroom and took a shower, not knowing what else to do.

After her shower, she was sitting on the bed, thinking through all the information she had just been told, when suddenly she heard a knock on the door.

She went to open it, not sure if it was the smart choice or not but not really having another option.

She opened the door and was met with a guy who looked around her age, who smiled at her kindly, almost with pity in it. He was holding some books.

"Hello, I'm your translator, can I come in? I was instructed to speak with you in your room," the nameless guy spoke in English.

Anna looked at him in confusion before opening the door, deciding it didn't really matter if this guy turned out to be a murderer and killed her since she was already kidnapped and in some random building in South Korea.

Once Anna shut the door, she turned to see the guy sitting on her bed. He patted the place beside him, wordlessly telling her to sit.

"My name is Kim Jae Ha, bit when anyone else is around, I'm 2098," the guy introduced himself. She noticed a tattoo on his wrist, but couldn't figure out what it was of.

"I'm Anna Liu, well I guess I'm also 2101," Anna spoke, glancing at the books he had placed beside him.

He noticed her gaze and said, "These are Korean books I was told to give you to help you study."

"Oh," was all Anna said.

"You're probably really confused, aren't you?" Jae Ha asked with an understanding tone.

"Well, I was just kidnapped and brought to another continent and given minimal information on anything so I'd say yes." Anna snapped slightly.

"I'm sorry, I'm not just frustrated and confused," Anna apologized, feeling bad for snapping at him.

"It's ok, I understand. Let me answer some of your questions," Jae Ha ofered.

All Anna could do was nod.
