Comforting Him

As Ybrahim said, Coraline woke up early. It was five o'clock in the morning when she took a bath, she endured the extreme cold of the water rather than Ybrahim scolding her when she will be late. And she doesn't want to scold by him.

The clothes she wore were simple. A blue vintage blouse with a large collar and has a floral design with a simple white, long skirt with pleats. Even though her hairstyle is also vintage, the big ribbon she tied to her hair fits better.

Last week, she and Juliana went for a walk because Ybrahim gave them a chance to have a day off. Juliana took her to the Clothing Market and they both bought the clothes they wanted to buy. She needs new clothes for herself!

She did not know to herself why she was beautifying while she did not know where she and Ybrahim were going. What if they goes to the forest or to the beach? Her dress will not suit to those place she mentioned. Never mind, she will only change her clothes if necessary.

She smiled broadly in front of the mirror before leaving her room. She immediately went straight to the living room where she saw Carlo who could not speak for a moment when he stares her whole body from head to toe.

"How beautiful you are, Lady Cora!"   he ejaculation to her.

"Thank you very much for your compliment Sir. Carlo."   she smiled softly.

"I should praise you Lady Cora cause you're so lovely! Where are you going, by the way?"

"None of your business, Carlo."   a man with a baritone voice answered.

They both looked at the man who spoke. It was Ybrahim standing in the middle of the stairs. Ybrahim put his hand in the pocket of his vintage pants, matching Ybrahim's white long sleeve and black suspender.

She could not help but be impressed when her gaze focused only to Ybrahim from head to toe. His garment is old but it is not noticeable because he can bear the old fashion. Ybrahim's clothes fit on him! She swallowed hard as Ybrahim's gaze who had just been staring at Carlo shifted to her.

She simply fixed her hair then clasped her hands. She couldn't help but swallow firmly because of the look Ybrahim was throwing at her now. A question is running inside her mind, does she look  pretty in his eyes? She hope so!

"It's good that you're ready, Cora. We're leaving."   Ybrahim added before continuing the walk.

"So you're going with him ah, beautiful young lady?"   Carlo frowned slightly.

She just smiled and was about to say goodbye to Carlo when Ybrahim suddenly grabbed her hand and quickly pulled her out of the mansion. Is it only her or does Ybrahim really not want her to get close to Carlo?

"You should not approach Carlo, Cora."   Ybrahim firmly said when they got in the car.

"But why Sir. Ybrahim?"

"Because he is thorny when it comes to women. There are countless women who cries just because of him."   he looked at her for a moment before looking back at the road.

They were the only two together in the car. Ybrahim is also driving to somewhere else. She forgot to ask this man where they were going because he just pulled her out of the mansion and drove as soon as they got in the car.

"Listen to me Cora if you don't want to be included to those women my cousin has hurt."   he added.

Her heart pounded.

"Why are you telling me this Sir. Ybrahim?"

"What do you mean? I just have to tell you this to warn you."   he frowned before looking at her for a moment.

"Why don't you just leave me alone? Because I am only a slave in your eyes."   his eyes dimmed because of the words she uttered.

She clung so tightly to the white hanky she was holding, she herself made any words to hurt her. She chuckled because of her own stupidity. She becomes ignorant because of Ybrahim. She could no longer recognize herself! She felt being another person cause she used to be jolly and she do not have any care for any guy. But look at her now, she's hurting because of a man.

She was surprised when Ybrahim's driving slowed down and he overturned the car before stopping at the side of the road. She even heard him took a deep breath before looking at her. She tried to stare at Ybrahim but she could not bear to look into his beautiful eyes.

"I want to apologize for my words, Lady Cora."   he said in a low tone of voice.

"You do not have to apologize Sir. Ybrahim!"

"You have grudge on me, don't you?"   he asked as if ignoring what she had said.

"N-no,"   she replied before averting her gaze on him.

"Look at me Cora."

Instead of following his orders, she averted her gaze even more. She almost face the car window. But she was surprised when Ybrahim touched her face to face him. Why does Ybrahim making the situation worst?

"I want to apologize for what I said that night. I don't want to treat you like a servant."

"Then why did you say that if you didn't want to treat me like that?"   she could no longer restrain herself from raising her voice.

"I-I don't know either, Cora. I suddenly felt annoyed when I saw what Carlo did to you. So for some unknown reason I intervened that night. I do not know what I should answer to Carlo's question on why am I interfering with you."   he almost whispered.

Does Ybrahim is confessing to her?

"If so, why? Why did you come that night? What was your reason? Why did you suddenly feel annoyed when you saw that scene with Carlo and me? You should know the answer!"

They both keep quiet and that silence lasted a few minutes. She just bowed down thinking that Ybrahim would not answer her but she was wrong. Ybrahim sighed before he laughed softly that made her mouth dropped. This is the first time that she saw Ybrahim smiling.

"As a matter of fact, I don't really know. Even this confession thingy, I also don't know why am I doing this."   he shook his head while chuckling.

She could no longer speak. Her mind is blank now because of what Ybrahim said to her. She remained silent while Ybrahim started driving again. She frowned as the car they were riding in, entered an old cemetery. Only the two of them were there and only the noise of dry leaves and the strong wind blowing what they hear.

"What are we doing here Sir. Ybrahim?"   she asked.

Ybrahim was unable to answer because he was out of the car. She was about to open the car door but Ybrahim preceded her. Ybrahim is so gentle even though he is snobbish and rugged.

The strong wind blew again that caused a very loud, frightening sound along with those flying dried leaves. Out of fear, she hugged Ybrahim's strong arm tightly. She is afraid that someone might pull her into somewhere else.

"So you are scared of this place?"   Ybrahim smiled softly.

Why does he smile more often?

"I'm not easily afraid of something! But the cemetery used to be scary, because at the present time cemetery is not like this so creepy."

"Present time? What do you mean?"   one of its eyebrows rised. She bit her lip so hard. Why did she say that?

"Don't bite your lip because it's hard to resist the seduction you're doing beautiful young lady."   Ybrahim said which caused her to be thrilled.

"What did you mean earlier, by the way?"   he asked.

"It's nothing Sir. Ybrahim! We'd better go to the tomb you want to visit."   she simply smiled.

Together, they walked towards into somewhere else. They stopped at a clean tomb, she's unable to speak when she reads the engraved name on the tombstone. Roxan Martinez! This is the woman that caused Ybrahim lost his temper yesterday!

Her knees were getting weak so she decided to sit on the ground. It looks like a thousand knives stabbed her heart when she saw Doña Roxan's last name, she was also a Martinez! Does that mean she is Ybrahim's wife?

"She is my mother,"   Ybrahim said.

She stared at Ybrahim who was simply smiling as he looked at his mother's tombstone. It was as if a thorn had pulled out from her heart when it turned out that Doña Roxan was Ybrahim's mother and not a wife. She really thought Doña Roxan was Ybrahim's dead wife.

"My mother died when I was a child. Before she lost her breath due to her severe illness, she gave me her scarf and her fragrant scent stuck there so I don't want anyone to interfere with the scarf she left me."   he said in a very low tone of voice.

"Sir. Ybrahim,"   she spoke softly of his name when tears welled up in his eyes.

"My mother is everything to me, Cora. So when she disappeared from this world, the joy in my life gradually disappeared too. I prefer to be alone and distance myself from the people around me, because no one will protect me from the people who hated my family."   he added.

"Today is the third year of my mother's death."   he burst into cry.

Out of deep concern for Ybrahim, she snuggled her arms around Ybrahim's muscular body. He was momentarily stunned and stared at her. He then hugged her arm before resting his head on her shoulder before crying.

"Just cry that Sir. Ybrahim, I'm just here and I'll be your backrest to lean on."   she said.

'Ybrahim continued to cry while in her shelter.'
