Four years ago...

"Damn it!" Kurt cursed as he wiped the blood coming from his broken nose.

The other man lying on the floor got up and pulled a sharp knife from his pocket.

He was about to stick it to Millers back when Erico swifly pushed Miller and takes his place.

"You-Son-of-a-bitch!" Miller shouted.He was madly punching the mans face while throwing him dirty words .He stop when he saw Erico get down on his knees eyeing the blood from his side.

Erico almost passed out when they reach the hospital.He saw the world slowly spinning and he can feel the coldness wrapping his body.After a while he closed his eyes.

When the doctor came out Miller and Kurt run to ask about him.The doctor declared his safety and finally they breath,feeling relieved.

"Hey man!you alright?Hey Miller! look,hes awake. hes alive!" Kurt over react.

Erico spread his sight,hes eyebrows formed an arch when he saw two unfamiliar faces.

"Youre at the hospital bro!You were stab so, we rushed you here.Do you remember?"Miller asked.

Erico nod.

when he tried to get up the two other helped him .

"About back there...thank you! You dont know me but you-...I owe you.Thank you.."Miller sincerely thank him.

"Who stab me,where is he?"

"Honestly,we dont even know them.Maybe they were those jerks looking for trouble.But dont worry the authorities are already conducting an investigation." Kurt assured him.

"By the way...We called your Mom shes on her way."

"What?But how did you-?"

"My son!My poor son!

Why is he not attending my son?"

A hysterical voice of a woman contain that room.

Miller and Kurt look at each other.No one of them dare to talk.

"Ma..Im fine!Dont worry.The doctor just got out from my room okay?"Erico told his mom.

"Oh,Thank God! I dont know what to do if something bad happened to you."

"Does Dad know Im here?"He asked.

"He has no idea that youre here at the hospital,but he know you came home."Mariotte worriedly told his son.

"Sooner or later he will find out.But dont worry, Ill take care if it."She added.

Mariotte notice the two young men standing behind her back.Her eyes are asking about them when Erico speak.

"They are my friend's. .."

Her mom look at him with disbelief,trying to listen what else will he say.

"Friends?and they are-?"Mariotte hanged and raised her left eyebrow.

Erico were out of words...He look at the two trying to get some help.But they dont know what to say either.

"They are your friends,but you dont know who are they or whats their name? Is that it?" She asked.

"Ma,its not that...I mean...we just met earlier at the bar and they are the one who rushed me here,they helped me."He defended.

"Is that true?"Mariotte asked the boys while looking at them closely.

"Yes maam,by the way Im Miller Wade"

"And Im Kurt Reese."

"Alright then,Hello boys! Im Mariotte Cruz mother of Erico Mason Cruz."She ungladly introduced.

"Ma,this is nothing serious..,You should go back and rest.Everything is fine now."Erico told his mom.

The oldwoman turned around and face her son with a teary eyes.

"You just got here from Paris.

You left your fiancé there alone,

You went to a bar and got rushed in this hospital because some idiot stab you!

You've met a strangers in a bar and now the three of you are friend's instantly.

Now you're telling me to leave and get some rest, that everything is fine,and its nothing serious!

Mariotte finally bursts into tears.

"Uhhh..Im sorry,I think we should go!" Miller interrupted.

"Yah!Please excuse us,see you later bro!" Kurt agreed.

Upon closing the door...

"Explain yourself Erico Mason!" Mariotte seriously told his son.

"Ma..please cant you see?!"Erico reason out showing her his wound.

Mariotte doesn't know what to say anymore to her son.She know there is something hes not telling her.And its something big.

When Erico got discharge from the hospital her Mom made sure he'll come home with her.She wanted to take good care of his son while finding out what really happened to him and Lexi.

"Talk to me son.What really happened?" Erico's mom sincerely asked.

"Ma..."

"Come on tell me.Im your mother."she insisted.

"Its nothing really.I just missed home."

"Your lying!I know when you lie,come on speak up!"

"Ma...please,I want to take a rest"

"Dont try to avoid me,Im just asking because Im worried about you! You honestly think I would believe you? I know something wrong happened.Pls. son..."

"Allright Ma,please give me some time.I need to gather my thoughts."

"Okay!I will not force you anymore.But if you need someone to talk to,dont forget that Im here.",

"Thanks Ma!"

When his Mom left his room a ball of tears fall from Ericos eyes.

"What happened?" Olivio asked her wife.

They were at the veranda having a cup of tea.

The old woman release a heavy sigh.

"Do you really think something big happened between them?"He asked again.

"Yes Im sure of it! and I wont buy his alibi.Im her mother,I know."

"What did he say?"

"Well...he said he missed home,"

"Have you called Lexi?"

"No.I wanted to asked our son first,but I think we wont be able to let him talk now,he said he need some time." Mariotte said desperately.

"Dont worry honey,lets just give him the time he needs.I know he will tell us in time."

Two months later Erico went straight to he's Father's office.He was about to knock the open door when he heard his dad talking to someone on the phone.

"Yes,this is Olivio Cruz of "Alhambra Corporation" I wanted to speak to Mr. Morris please.This is about the project proposal that we sent you.

Ah!I see,I understand but please tell him I called.Thank you!" He ended.

Erico was about to leave when hes father already noticed him.

"Come here son!"

They both seated on the couch.

"Im sure you heard about our business in crisis."Hes dad said.

"Yes.Do you have a plan?" Erico worriedly answered.

Olivio look at his son trying to say something but he was hesitant.

"Do you need me in your company?"Erico asked knowing what hes father wanted to say.

"I honestly know that this day will happen,But I didnt expect that it will come in an unexpected way.When you still dont have enough experience and knowledge."

Oliveo tap his sons shoulder.

"Its okay son,I will need you but not yet this time."

"Are you sure Dad?"

Hes Father smiled.

"Dont worry about me or the company,Ill get a help from your uncle Andy.You should focus on learning first ."

Erico look down trying not to meet hes Father's eyes.

"Its been a while since you got here and you dare not to talk about Lexi."Hes Father noticed his silence.

"We just had a misunderstanding Dad,that's all."

"Hmn!That's normal.

You know your Mom and I had a lot of misunderstanding before.

There we're times we argue and fight,but look, were still together."

"Dont worry Dad,Ill call and talk to her about it.."

"Tsk!Why would you call when you can go?"

"Honestly Dad...

shes pregnant."He murmured.

"What?"Hes dad stand up in disbelief.

"You fool!How can you leave her in that state?How irresponsible act was that?What were you thinking?"

"Dad,please calm down."

"What's going on here? I can almost hear your voice out there!"Mariotte asked whike entering the room but her husband didn't mind her.

"How can I calm down?Your fiancé is pregnant and you left her all alone.What if something bad happened to her?Dont you know shes in a delicate condition right now?You should be there taking care of her!" He yelled at hes sons face.

"What?!Lexi is pregnant?Mariotte gasped

"Will you please hear me first?"Erico finally breaks in frustration.

"Okay,go ahead!Explain yourself!"He's dad told him.

"Yes shes pregnant about five months now.I left her because...

because I wanted to gather my thoughts.

I want some time alone to think on what will I do,

Dad...Mom...Im confused,I dont know what to do..."

He desperately told them.

"Dont you think your being unfair?"her mom can't believe.

"But Mom if you only knew."

"I know son..."Hes dad replied him instead.

"You are confused,and you are scared.

But you have to man up and take responsibility!

I will talk to her parents for you.

Im sure Andy will get a little shock.

But I know hell be glad to know about it.Besides this is good for our business.

You must go back there and bring her here.

You two should get married before she gaves birth."

Erico immediately stand up to disagree.

"But dad-!"

"Please son..do this for me!Dont let me down." Hes dad answered ,looking at him with a begging face.

Erico think for a while,he quickly gathered hes thoughts and decided.

"Okay Dad.Ill bring her here.

But when I comeback, I want to learn and run our company!"

"Now were talking!"Hes dad gladly smile feeling proud.

It was afternoon when Erico tell hes goodbyes to his parents.He was flying back to Paris.It wasn't hes original plan but for hes parents and their companies sake,he will sacrifice.

"How was your flight?" Lexi asked,she was wearing her sweetest smile as he looks at Erico's face.

He smiled shortly."Its exhausting! I think I need to rest."

"Ahmn...Okay then.I'll leave you to rest."

"Stay pls."Erico grab her hand,but immediately unhold it.

"Do you want me to keep you company?should I unpack your things in my room?"she hopefully ask.

"No,I mean.You should stay,We need to talk."

"Oh,okay!"She nod.

"I came back here,because I wanted to sort things out.I still dont forget it.

But maybe...maybe we can fix it in time."

"I...I dont know what to say..Im thankful and Im glad that you're here with me,but Im also afraid."She honestly told him.

Erico look at her belly bumped.

"Ill take responsibility to your baby. I will give him my name.Ill take good care of you both."He heavily speak.

"Erico!"She gasped.

"We will keep it a secret.Make sure no one would find out."

"Yes!Ofcourse...thank you.Thank you Erico!"

Lexi hugged him.

"You should start packing your things.We will leave in a week."

"What?why?"

"Where getting married.Our parents thought that it would be the best thing to do before you gave birth."

"But...but what about-

Cant we just stay here?Cant we just get married after? Im not yet ready. I still want to fulfill my dreams.I still want to become a fashion designer.I still want to do all the things I wanted to do! I still need-"

"Stop it Lexi!This is not just about you anymore!Your thinking about your dreams?

"But Erico...its my dream,you know how badly I wanted to make it come true."

"And you can still pursue it after!"He answered losing out of patience.

Lexi didnt talk anymore,she walk away and went to her room crying a river.

"Are you alright?"Erico asked Lexi.They were heading to the airport.

"Yes,I just feel sick but Im alright."

Erico pulled the car feeling worried.

"Lexi your sweating!"

"Ahh yes,sorry Ill just wipe it."She tried to get some tissues.

"We're going to the hospital."Erico in panicked.

"No,Im fine!"she insisted.

"No youre not!You're pale and your sweating!"

"But-

Lexi's eyes literally got big when she felt something came out from her.She touch the warm liquid flows down her legs.

"Blood!" She said with a shaking hands.

She look at Erico, hes expression get dimmed and drives swiftly to the hospital.

Erico walks back and forth to the hallway of the hospital while squeezing his head with his arms.He already called their parents about what happened.They got also worried but comforted him saying everything will be alright.While Lexi's parents book their flight instantly.

"She's out of danger now,but she had a miscarriage.Im sorry for your lost."He heard the doctor say.

He automatically felt sad.But he also thought about Lexi.

She is even more affected,he knows that right now she has the most difficult time accepting it.

"How do you feel?"He asked worriedly.When she woke up.

"Is my baby okay?"She asked first.

"Lexi Im sorry,I know its hard to accept but we lost it." He throttle.

"No!How?Why?"She get up unwary.Touching her belly.

"Erico tell me its not true!"

"Im sorry!The doctor says you had a miscarriage."He uttered.

She cant accept it

That moment,Lexi cried endlessly.
