A Hint of Truth

Lucian:

Just outside Lunar pack borders

It was a dark, moonless night. A perfect night for an attack. And as much as I would love to slaughter every wolf in this pack, I can’t. I can’t risk Scarlet's life. So I spent 3 days working on a plan with Layla and Damian. Here I was executing it by myself. I chose to work alone. It allows me to not have any lose ends. I slashed the power box to the pack house and sneaked my way past their boarders. I then made my way directly to the Alpha office. Thanks to Layla being from this pack, she let me know the whole layout of lunar territory. When I got into the office, I scoffed at the smell that lingered in the air. The air was thick with sex. Disgusting, even after he knew what he had done he could still get a hard on. I waited a bit before Asher came storming in. Thinking this was an attack on the pack. Luckily for him it isn’t. He stopped in his tracks at the sight of me.

Since we are werewolves, we can see each other clearly in the dark.
He was in boxers and his hair messy. I could also see some scratches on his body. His scent stenched of sex it was revolting. But one man’s loss is another’s treasure. He tried swinging at me but I dodged it with minimal effort. I grabbed his hand and used his own momentum against him to pin him to the wall. It gave me a clear view of Saige’s handiwork on his back and I couldn’t help but become angry. “You know she feels it every time you sleep with that tramp” I scoffed “Lucian what are you doing here?” “Alpha to you” I growled. “Can’t I just come and congratulate you on your marking ceremony.” “We both know that’s not why you are here.” He then clawed the side of my stomach with his free hand and got free from my grasp only for me to grab a hold of his neck.

I squeezed it tightly wishing I could drain every bit of air that was left in his lungs.
“The treaty”, he said in a squeaky voice, letting me know that I was indeed stopping the flow of his oxygen. I lightened my grip slightly because I need him alive for now. “Oh no I’m not breaking the treaty. I have very good reason to be here.” I growled. “You will be coming with me willingly” “and why would I want to do that?” “Because if you ever cared about scarlet even a little you will fix the mess that you created”. “What mess and why do you care?” his questions started irritating me. “She saw you F*ck Saige the night of the mate ball” He went quite for a while and stopped struggling to break free from my grip. “Why do you care about her so much.” What was with all these questions?

“It’s none of your business.
If you refuse to cooperate with me, I will slaughter your whole pack and leave rogue. I know how you crave that power and you know I have the power to take it out of your clutches”, I said coldly, glaring at him, waiting for him to make one wrong move. He was quiet for a while. Then I tightened my grip on his neck. “OK, OK. I’ll go with you”. He eventually gave in. I always knew him as weak. He isn’t strong enough to be an alpha. “You will do everything I say, do you understand?

Scarlet:

I ran through the woods following the sound of the crying baby.
Her cries were coming from every direction, making it hard for me to follow. I heard gates screech open and ran towards the sound hoping it would lead me to this child that was in need. I saw two men talking while staring at the child. I knew their faces all too well. It was Alpha Caleb and the head warrior at lunar pack. But they looked younger than I remember them. When alpha Caleb picked up the child and went into the gates, I sneaked in and followed him. When he stopped at an all too familiar door, it was my parents from when they lived in the pack houses home. When my mom came out she was young and beautiful. I was curious to find out who this child was and why Alpha Caleb had taken her to my parents. Then I heard a sentence that changed everything. “We will name her Scarlet”, My mom said with absolute adoration oozing out of her.

That was me.
Suddenly, everything vanished before me and I found myself in front of a beautiful lake. “Scarlet” a woman’s voice called one I had never heard before and yet it sounded familiar. I then saw a figure walking on the moonlight that was cast over the lake. “Who are you? What are you doing to me? What does all of this mean?” I started crying and before I knew it, I was in the figure's arms. She smelled like power and when I opened my eyes her skin glowed like moonlight. “Scarlet Things weren’t supposed to go like this” She sighed and played with my hair. “You weren’t supposed to choose a mate and yet you did. As impressive as it was, it has come in the way of you and your true mate. Oh my dear child, don’t get in the way of yourself again.” I pushed her back slightly to try and get a look at her face.

She had fine features and long hair that dragged on the ground.
It was pure white and had a shimmer to it. Her skin was also pale and glowing like light. Her eyes were green like mine and a lot of her facial features resembled mine. “W…What do you mean … W..Who are you?” “Always so inquisitive my dear child. We will see each other again and talk more, but I’ve come to warn you. You are in a weak state, my child. Your chosen mate has marked another. You are weak at the moment and he will come to reject you. Accept it because he isn’t your true mate. We have to get back on the path, my child. You have to stay strong.” She kissed my forehead and vanished, leaving me alone with all these questions and confusion.

Then I heard the faint words in the forest.
“Scarlet”, a male voice called out. It was Asher. I got to my feet and started running in the direction where the sound came from “Stay strong my child”. I heard that woman’s voice again and stopped in my tracks. Wanting to go back and get the answers to all these questions that were swimming around in my head. “Keep going and stay strong”, I heard her voice again. I was standing still looking in both directions, wondering which one to take. “Scarlet Bloodmoon” Asher’s voice rumbled through the forest. I didn’t want to go back to him and I started to go back to where the woman was until 5 massive wolves rose from the ground.

They looked like shadows with stars for eyes.
They started bolting at me. I turned to run in the direction of Asher’s voice. Trying to escape these wolves. I haven’t shifted since I saw Asher and Saige Together at the mate ball. “I Asher Stormclaw, Son of Alpha Caleb and soon to be alpha, reject you as my mate and future Luna” My heart clenched at those words and I saw a portal open Showing Asher and Lucian next to one another. The sight of Lucian gave me the strength I needed to jump through. “I Scarlet Bloodmoon, daughter of Beta Rylan, accept your rejection”
