CHAPTER 7 "LOVER'S CARRY"

FRIDAY afternoon is the cheering squad's schedule of practice at the gymnasium. So after class in their last subject, Ella told Joyce to go home while she headed to the school gym. In the distance, she could hear the noise of the running foot on the gym floor. Her chest immediately flared up as she realized that Luis is definitely among those playing there.

It is only now that she can see him again a few days after her first encounter with the young man. But even if it has been two days after that incident, the romantic excitement that she feels whenever she thinks about Luis remains in her heart. She can't help herself but smile whenever she thinks of him and most especially the way he winked his beautiful eye on her.

She was about to enter the gym when she bumped into a nice and beautiful lady. She could see the girl staring at her with so much admiration that is why she couldn't help but smile on her and so the lady smiled back.

Ella proceeded to the locker room.

As she walked through the lobby toward the locker room, she thought of the beautiful face of the woman she met. She couldn't understand why she seems to be liking her even though she didn't know her at all as her beautiful face seemed to preserved in her mind.

She changed with her Physical Education uniform. She had never bought a cheer dance uniform because she had never told her aunt about it yet. As she faced the huge mirror inside the room, Ella decided to tie her long brown hair into a nice ponytail. After that, she applied baby powder on her face and neck then sprinkled a small amount of cologne before putting her belongings inside the locker with her name on it.

Her heart is pounding when she went out of the room. She might not admit it, but she knew it was because of Luis since she's got a crush on him and for sure she will be able to see him today.

At the last thought, Ella felt excitement despite the constant pressure on her chest. She sighs to somehow calm her chest, but she fails. As soon as she walked into the spacious gym, she immediately saw her fellow cheer dance members sitting in the bleachers. Some of them even waved at her when they saw her coming.

“Hello Ella,” it was Kyla, the cheerleader who will be graduating at the end of the school year.

Kyla smiled warmly at her and so she did the same way though she was a little shy. "Hi, Kyla," and then she joined the others on the bleacher,

It wasn't long before their meeting started by introducing themselves. After that, they came down and started training for their district competition, which will be happening in December.

It was then that she started to look up the whole gym to see Luis. But that was just the frustration Ella felt when she didn't see the young man playing there.

Ella couldn't help but feel sad.

She has to admit that Luis was one of the reasons why she was excited to go to the gym that day and that it was normal for her to feel that because she really hoped she would see him despite the fact that she was really nervous.

Ella laughed secretly at the thought.

It's just weird because she was excited to see Luis, she was sad because he was not playing there right now and at the same time she was nervous. How does it happen that she feels all those emotions in one situation?

She was in that state of mind when a ball suddenly hit the back of her leg without realizing it. And because she was not ready, she lost her balance and fell on the gymnasium floor.

"Hey," Ella heard that familiar voice which quickly made her heartbeat stronger.

She immediately felt the strange flow of electricity in her body as she felt a warm hand on her arm. Because of that, the feeling of nervousness that she has become even more intense.

As soon as she met Luis' eyes, everything around her is suddenly covered with beautiful roses. She even felt like she lost the ability to speak and move because of the handsome face and impressive dark eyes in front of her.

"Ella are you okay?" that brought Ella back from her seemingly flying mind. "Would you like me to take you to the clinic?" he added and then he carried her as if she was just a little leaf, and so out of shock, Ella screamed.

"Please put me down, they are all looking on us," she said in a strict tone regardless of the nervousness she was feeling at the moment.

Ella gave Luis a warning look when she heard the soft laugh the young man released. It was then that she quickly turned her gaze on him. He met her eyes with so much amusement on his. And then look at her face in a way that seems to memorize every angle of it.

Luis didn't lower her down but instead to the bleacher he carefully sat her down while the other members of the cheering squad followed with worried faces.

"I'm sorry Miss, I threw the ball too hard. I hope you're okay," the guy standing behind Luis whom she remembered was one of Luis's two companions the day he went to their class after their unexpected and first encounter at the quadrangle. "By the way, I'm Harold," he extended his hand on her.

She accepted his handshake, although she was having a second thought. "Ella, Rafaella Martinez," she answered and pulled her hand over. "Don't worry, I'm okay, " she added in assurance as she struggled to restore her heartbeat to normal.

"Are you sure you are okay? I can take you to the clinic just to make sure you haven't got any injury," it was Luis to her in a very deep and concerned tone.

At the sound of his voice, Ella couldn't help but smile. "I'm okay Luis," she replied, meeting his eyes only to look away from him after a few seconds.

"Are you a hundred percent sure?" he asked again.

Ella nodded consecutively. "Yes, nothing to worry," and then she smiled.
