Love Speaks

A girl was tying her hair in front of the mirror, wearing a frown. As she looks at her reflection, she rolled her eyes and scoff.

"School. Again." she sighs as she grabbed her tote bag lying on her bedroom.

She quickly stormed out of her room and walk down their stairs. She saw a woman and a man, laughing while hugging each other, she rolled her eyes and cleared her throat.

"Valentina. What's with that face, honey?" she looked at them, giving them cold stares like she's going to puke on what they are doing.

"It's only 7 a.m." as she pointed out of the two of them, still hugging each other.

"And you two are already hugging and making love with each other." she heard laughs from her parents that's why she rolled her eyes again.

She grabbed a tuna sandwich in the counter together with a lemon juice in the bottle. She takes the keys to her Ducati Superleggera V4 and bid them goodbye while raising her hands.

She drove as fast as she can so that she won't be late for her 7:30 a.m ceremony as a freshman at Serumentus University. As she saw the tall walls and the big black gate with the name of the school, she parks her motorcycle beside a Tesla in the parking lot of the school. She observes the school where she enrolled in, watching every student in their uniforms, some in their civilians that she already thought as freshmen like her. Her eyes stopped at the man kissing a woman inside the tesla beside her. She raised her eyebrows as she watches the man in uniform, aggressively kissing the woman. Her face can be read as she was disgusted on what they are doing so she gets down of her motorcycle and knocks the window of the driver seat of the car.

She frowns as she watches them continue what they are doing, so she knocks again, the second time around. She raised her eyebrow as she got the guys attention. She muttered a "fuck you" pointing at him and raised her middle finger. She quickly runs to get away from the parking lot towards the gym where some students are off to. She flashed a smirked as she remembered the guys face when she raised her middle finger. As soon as she gets inside of the gym, she walks towards the bleachers where a big banner saying "freshmen" was flustered. She seated right next to a girl wearing thick black glasses and jet black hair. She gave cold stares to the girl when the girl beside her stares at her.

"Good morning students of Serumentus University." her attention was diverted to the woman wearing a plaid corporate attire in the stage. She rolled her eyes and takes a gum inside her tote bag and chew on it. She saw the girl beside her, staring so offer her a piece of gum and focused on the woman speaking in the podium.

"Today is the first day of school for the Freshmen! Welcome to Serumentus University, where dreams are just steps to your future. This is an orientation for the freshmen. Classes will resume tomorrow so that the freshmen can cope up with the university's surroundings. The seniors will take accountability for the freshmen who'll enroll in each course and clubs. The club booths are at the Annex 2A Field together with the course table. To orient you more about the Serumentus University, let's call on Mr. Cion Querer, the Student Council President." Val watches the woman get off the stage, she rolled her eyes and takes out her iPad in her tote bag and starts to sketch.

"Hey. Welcome to the University. I'm Mr. Cion Querer, 4th Year Civil Engineering and I'm your Student Council President." she didn't take a glance at the man talking in the stage and is busy on sketching some portraits.

"As what Mrs. Primrose has said earlier, the courses are in the Annex 2A Field and have their gazebos. Each course has three representatives so that you can list your name on your preferred course. In front of the gazebos are the booths that are set up by each club. You may choose as many booths as you like as long as you can handle your time. That's all. Welcome again, Freshmen!" as soon as Val heard the last statement of the president, she stood up and took up a glance at the stage.

She saw the woman, Mrs. Primrose as what she had heard, talking to a man wearing a red band on his left arm, the President she thinks. She tilts her head, to look and focused on the face of the man, talking to Mrs. Primrose, when the man took a glance in her direction, she saw the same man, kissing a girl in a Tesla. She was shocked and run getting down of the bleachers and quickly walk towards the Annex Field while inserting her iPad at her tote bag.

She was panting and observing the freshmen, picking up their desired courses in each gazebo. As she walks again, finding the gazebo where she wanted to enroll in, she found the girl who is sitting next to her in the orientation, standing at the corner of a gazebo and looking at her shoes. She rolled her eyes and walk towards her direction. As soon as she gets there, she cleared her throat while folding her arms. The woman raised her chin and Val notices the teardrops in her cheeks. Val then step a little more closer and hugged her while scoffing.

"Why are you crying?" Val asked as she let go of the hug. The girl sighed that make Val rolled her eyes. She notices that the girl was staring at a gazebo so she took a glance at the Engineering Gazebo, watching a man, resting her arms at the shoulders of a woman.

"Your boyfriend?" she heard a soft "yes" from the girl which made her frown.

"He's cheating on you." Val looked at the girl, with a teary-eyed.

"How can you say so? He's my boyfriend for almost 3 years." the girl gripped on her backpack and lets out the tears that filling in her eyes.

"He is cheating on you. No man will ever make you feel that you compete with another woman. Break up with him." Val raised her eyebrows while pointing at the man whose lips are on the neck of the woman beside her.

"I can't. He loves me for who I am. He loves me with these thick glasses on. He loves me wearing a backpack. He loves watching me reading books." the girl shook her head that made Val hod her hand and grip on it.

"Listen. Break up with him, before he does. He's cheating on you and you are here, standing, crying yourself out with a lousy man who is kissing a goddamn woman's neck. You can love your flaws. Love yourself, wearing those thick glasses. Love yourself, wearing that big backpack. Just simply love yourself. No one can hurt you when you love yourself more than you love those aliens." Val gives off a small chuckle and gives her a tight hug.

She holds the girl's hand, guiding her towards the Engineering Gazebo. When they got there, she let go of the girl's hand and slightly push her inside of the gazebo. She folds her arms, as she watches them. She saw the man, who's busy kissing with a girl's neck in shock, seeing her girlfriend standing in front of her.

The man slightly pushes the woman beside her and stands, walking towards Ms. Glasses. Val smiled when she heard the girl tell boyfriend - ex rather that she is breaking up with him. She's even more ecstatic when she saw Ms. Glasses, slapping his ex. Val gave her a thumbs up when the girl glances at her.

"What's happening here?" a familiar voice was asking in what was happening inside the Engineering Gazebo. A man was walking up straight inside as he saw the slapping incident. She saw the girl, walking back in her direction so she smiled at her.

"I told you right? Loving someone isn't the greatest thing in the world. Put yourself first." Val shrugged. They walked, leaving the Engineering Gazebo while talking to each other.

"Thank you. I'm Nikkita Storm, by the way." she nodded.

"Valentina Amore." the girl awed when she uttered her name.

"Don't even bother. Call me Val. And yes my parents are that in love in giving me that name." the girl slightly laugh that made Val laugh too.

"What's your course? Where you off to?" Nikkita asked.

"Medicine and Healthcare. I'll choose Nutrition." Val pointed out the gazebo while shrugging.

"We have the same course. Oh my!" Nikkita jumped as she hugged Val tightly, and let go of the hug and quickly takes her to the Medicine and Healthcare Gazebo, where it is beside Engineering.

As soon as they get there, they listed their names and enrolled themselves. They get more even happier when they are classmates on each of the units they will be taking up. When they are done at the small briefing led by the representative of the Medicine and Healthcare, they heard someone was clearing his throat that's why they moved aside.

"How is it?" a voice of a man was asking at the representative. Val continued copying on her iPad the must do and don't in the university.

"We're done, Mr. President. All of the courses are filled in and we are fixing things up, we are just waiting for the two of them to finish." Val gave a glance to the representative yet her eyes were caught off guard of the man standing in front of the representative. She saw the man, standing while folding his arms, and smirking at him. She notices that the man mutters a "hola" that made her rolled her eyes.

"Nik. Are you done? Let's get going. There is an evil spirit surrounding us. It makes me want to puke." the representative glances at them that made her bow a little.

"I'll let you copy mine later. Let's go." Val quickly held Nikki's hand and stormed out the Gazebo, shouting a thank you.

"Wait." a voice was shouting behind them that didn't make her stop. When she is going to take another step, someone grabbed her hand.

"I said wait." Val looked pissed and Nikki, beside her, is giving her the confused look. She saw Nikki muttered a "President" which made her give Nikki glares.

The man pulled her, making her look at him. The man smiled yet she only rolled her eyes.

"I'm Cion Querer." the guy let go of her wrist.

"Then?" Val asked in a cold tone.

"And you? What's your name?" he asked.

"Name your ass." she rolled her eyes and walks faster, leaving the President standing there.
