CHAPTER 5: THE DIVORCEMENT PAPERS

MARIBELLA

"Ugh! How could that son of a bitch do this to me? No one has ever disrespected me the way that he did!" I hissed as soon as I get inside of my room. It ruined my mood for the entire night! What an asshole!

I left everyone after what happened between me, and the De Marcos, I couldn't face anyone as I can't pretend anymore that I was totally fine! Even if they didn't hear of it, I was still totally humiliated by it! I almost slapped myself in frustration as I tried to forget what happened earlier. I drank the full glass of black label, and I quickly groaned how it tasted like.

Could I be in any bad state more than this? Oh God, it's killing me!

Abriana suddenly went inside, wearing her elegant black gown, and she looked so gorgeous by just wearing it. I suddenly smiled, being proud of how she became. She just graduated from college, and she's already a grown-up woman. I almost tear up by remembering it.

"Oh my God, I saw a cutie back there!" She excitedly commented. My brows quickly furrowed of what I just heard from her, "Chill! Just a crush, mom!" She immediately hissed when she saw my reaction. I let out a chuckle as I faced her.

"You're too young for that, how about a road trip with your friends as my graduation gift for you?" I grinned as her eyes widened in shock and excitement.

"Really?! You're the best mom!" She screamed as she ran into me and hugged me tightly. My lips formed into a genuine smile as I caressed her hair lightly.

"Anything for you, love." I whispered, "But you'll starting to work at our company as soon as you get home." I sounded like a bossy, and it was totally fine. She should know how to limit her privileges, now that she's already a young adult, and she needs to earn on her own, unlike her father, who only knows how to spend the company's money on useless things and women.

I shook my head as I remembered about the divorce papers, that's one of the reasons why I gave an abroad trip to Abriana, She doesn't need to witness our arguments, and about the separation. I know that she's already old enough to handle those kinds of situations. I'll just explain it when she learns about it.

The next day, Abriana was already packing her kinds of stuff, and she told that me she wants to go to Japan. I was just leaning against her door while crossing my arms as I'm watching her. She told me that they're going this, night and it was a good opportunity for me to finally talk with Antonio tomorrow, Even though he barely lives at the Mansion.

We had lunch together and went back to her things again to continue packing. I just helped her with it until the semi evening came, so I drove her to the airport. I saw her friends in College days. They greeted me, and I could see how happily Abriana is, and that's all I wanted to see in my whole life because seeing her enjoying the life that I didn't was already a satisfaction for me.

The next morning came, and I called it a day for me, so I informed my secretary that I won't come to the office today. It was my lucky day when I suddenly see Antonio in the dining area, sipping on his coffee while reading at his newspapers. He acts so normally, and I almost call all the saints just to thank them that this old man came home for the very first time.

I walked towards him as I sat down beside him, he took a glance at me, while I was just staring at him. He quickly avoided my gazed and let out a fake cough. I almost laugh, by his actions, it's too pathetic and readable.

"Where's Abriana?" He asked calmly. The maid brought my coffee, just in time. I smiled as I sipped on it before I looked at him.

"She already flew to Japan with her friends," I answered, still smiling. "Did you already sign it?" I asked him in a low voice.

His brows furrowed, and this time he's looking directly into my eyes, "Could we just fix it? For Abriana?" He said softly. I suddenly burst into laughter after I heard what he just said.

"Stop shitting me, Antonio," I replied, still chuckling as if he made a sudden joke which, it was though... at least for me.

"I'm not, Maribella." He gritted his teeth angrily, trying to calm himself. "Don't make this complicated." He added after he sighed heavily.

"Just sign the fucking papers, Antonio," I smiled at him sweetly, "Don't make this hard for the both of us."

"You think you'll get yourself out of this mess easily?" His brows furrowed in disappointment and betrayal. I laughed.

"It wasn't my fault if you became like that, you turned yourself to be like that, Antonio. Stop being stupid and unreasonable." I calmly said. I'm starting to get piss by him.

"You used me, isn't that enough for you?" He chuckled, remembering about the past.

"And so do you, stop playing the victim role. It doesn't even suit you." I rolled my eyes in annoyance as I bite on my bread. I keep smiling at every maid who's coming in to serve us.

"Stop smiling, it creeps me out, Maribella," He said seriously.

"Well, it's always for the show, my dear soon to be ex-husband," I chuckled, "I always sign the papers that you were giving me for the past years, just only for your benefits," I said while eating my breakfast normally His eyes widened in shock when he heard of what I just said. I grinned, "Do you think I didn't know about it? Come on, I'm not that stupid," I let out a soft chuckle.

"Then why you were still signing those then?" He asked curiously. I gave him a small smile.

"For you to sign my benefit papers, this time." I grinned dubiously.
