CHAPTER 7

Ian's POV

I spent the day researching Noah Hamilton, Chloe's date. I know it's weird and invasive but for an unknown reason I couldn't help myself.

I checked him up and everything is good nothing really that stands up. I told Coco I'll see her before she leaves for the date. I waited for her in the extended living room waiting for her to finish getting ready.

She comes out of her room dressed up and ready. She wore a short black skirt and a turtleneck top, she looked casual yet sexy and hot.

Being the asshole that I am the first thing out of my mouth was your skirt is too short. Yeah it was short but she always dressed in short skirts I was just pissed that another guy was going to be enjoying her company looking that gorgeous tonight.

And her reaction was exactly right, she was pissed that I mentioned her clothing.

"Ian you have no right to tell me what I can or can't wear. Even Andrew doesn't have that right, I dress however I want want." She said as she left me in the living room.

She was right, I had no right to say that. I felt bad immediately it got out of my mouth. I debated for a while whether text and apologize, I did apologize before she left but she was still mad when she left.

So I texted and apologized.

Sorry about my stupid comment about your skirt, I really shouldn't have said anything. Hope you're not mad at me.

She replied immediately, No it's good, I'm not mad really.

Okay, well how's your date going. If you need help just text. I texted back.

It's going good teacher. But I'll keep that in mind. She replied.

After that I let her go on with her date without disturbing her, the whole point of it was for her to get used to it. And now I was bored at home, thinking about her and him.

Will she kiss him tonight? Or maybe more than kiss I thought to myself. I have to push her off my mind, I carry my phone and call Will.

"Hey what's up mate. He says with his thick British accent answering my call.

"What's up, what are you up to today." I ask.

"Why? Thought you said you were busy today." He says.

"Yeah I was but I've decided to put that all off."

"Oh right" he says laughing before adding "so Chloe is out on her date" he says.

"Yeah but that has nothing to do with anything." I say.

"Yeah right, you definitely want to shag Andrew's sister and I've given you my advice just shag someone else and forget all about her. And sorry Ian I've to go I'm meeting Lizzy for some much needed shagging after the week I've had." He adds.

"You're such an asshole but I think you're right, I'll just fuck someone else and maybe that would get her off my mind."

"Alright talk to you later." He says ending the call.

I carry my phone going through the contact list. Maybe I should just call Elaine we've been fuck buddies for a while now I haven't talked to her in a while so.

I press dial on her number before quickly ending it. Maybe tomorrow not today, I don't want Coco coming back and finding us together here.

To get things off my mind I video call Ethan my brother to go over some work contracts.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
More than an hour later I was done talking with Ethan. But still not a text or call from Coco, which was kind of weird because we agreed on updates during her date. So I know everything is working right.
I dial her number but she rejects it so I go downstairs wanting to go down to the bar and see if everything is fine. I really shouldn't be worried or worked up about it but for a reason I was.
I was waiting for the driver to bring the car out front when she came out of a car parked in front of the hotel. She had definitely been in there for a while, making out from the looks of it.
Her hair was messy, her lips were red and puffy from kissing and I felt like a stab wound in my chest. Oh God did she sleep with him? Or maybe just make out. I shouldn't feel like this but I wanted to pull him out the car and punch him right in his face.
And she's drunk, did he get her drunk. "Did he get you drunk," I ask as we enter her bedroom.
"No he didn't, I'm a grown woman Ian. I'm fully capable of getting drunk myself" she says with her perfectly sexy British accent while rolling her eyes.
"So drunk Chloe is mean," I say under breath. I go into her closet to get her something to change into. "Where are your pajamas." I ask.
"No just get me a T-shirt in the first drawer." She says.
I open the drawer and get her a Manchester university T-shirt. "Take this and change." I say giving it to her.
"Ian you're my friend not my father or brother. You can't tell me what to do. As a matter of fact no man can tell me what to do." She says slurring her words.
"Okay then I'll leave you to it I" say as she starts removing her skirt.
"Good night"she slurs as I close the door leaving.
"Good night" I whisper.
Chloe's POV
I wake up with a hangover obviously, I wasn't really drunk yesterday just tipsy so I remember everything that went on correctly in my mind. Making out with Noah, Ian asking if I was drunk.
I go into the bathroom, I brush my teeth and splash water on my face. I leave my bedroom and go into the living Ian was sitting in the small kitchen area.
"Good morning," he says his gaze piercing into all of me.
"Good morning" I say.
"I got some coffee brought up for you and here is some aspirin he passes it to me."
"Oh coffee, my savior. Thank you" I say collecting the aspirin.
"So how was yesterday," he asks.
"Well I had a good time and he didn't get me drunk." I say.
"Okay just so you know, lesson two is never get drunk on a first date."
"Okay I'll remember that." I say swallowing down the aspirin.
"So want to tell me how everything went.” He asks again.
"It was good totally casual. We didn't really talk, we just drank and danced."
"That's it?" He asks again.
"Well we kind of made out in the car. Which is actually good, the whole point of it is to have fun and I had fun."
"Glad you had fun," he says frowning.
"He wants to see me again though. Told him I'll be busy for a couple of days."
"That's good, now you should go out with someone else before going out with him again."
I was about to ask why, when my sister Chrissy enters the living room.
"Chrissy? What are you doing here." I ask moving away from Ian, I was standing very close to him.
"Collins has a meeting in London this morning so we dropped Eddie with his grandma and came together. I wanted to spend time with you" she says smiling. “Smith let me in.” She adds.
"Can I atleast get a hug" she says looking between Ian and I.
"Glad you came" I say hugging her, realizing I missed her more than I thought.
"So what's going on" she asks looking between Ian and I.
"Hello Chrissy," Ian says. "Hey Ian."
"Ian was just giving me lectures on not getting drunk on a first date." I say.
"You went on a date" she asks.
"Yeah yesterday night."
"I'll leave you two, I have a meeting to get to." Ian says.
"Okay bye" we both say.
"So a date huh? With who?" She asks.
"Just this guy Noah.
“Okay that narrows it down.” She says rolling her eyes dramatically. “Let's go to your room. Take a shower and we'll have a spa day and you'll tell me everything about this Noah guy."
An hour later we stopped and had breakfast in a restaurant in soho and went to our favorite London spa in Westfield.
I've told her everything about Noah, excluding the part where Ian is helping with the dating stuff.
"So how's it living with Ian, he's quite a slut right. Different girl every night." She says.
"Actually no, he hasn't brought anyone home since we started living together. Why do you think he's a slut, and we're not even suppose to use that word. That's slut-shaming" I say as we sit down to get our nails done.
"Well you know since Kathy left him for his brother he has been back to his old self, you know college days when he and Andy were both huge sluts."
"Kathy? His brother's wife?" I ask confused.
"You don't know?" She asks. "Well okay so Kathy was his girlfriend first, he even asked her to marry him. But she fell in love with his brother Ethan and broke up with Ian. Anyway she later married Ethan, she broke his heart. She was actually the reason he moved to London two years ago."
"Oh God that's awful, he must have been so heartbroken. How do you know any of this." I ask.
"Andy told me. He thinks Ian is still in love with her, that's why he moved here to get over her."
Now I get it, why Ian is completely off relationships why he doesn't talk about that part of himself. I think to myself. He still loves her, I have no chance with him. My heart aches at the thought of that, he is never going to fall for me because he has felt that for someone else before.
"Anyway I'm glad he hasn't brought his one nightstands around you, when will the house be ready." She asks.
"I'm not sure, haven't talked to them but probably after the holidays."
"Oh that reminds me you should come down to Norwich for Christmas, Andy will still be in Paris. I asked him to comeback but you he hates the holidays. It reminds him of both mom and dad. Both our parents died a day after Christmas. I know it reminds you too but atleast we'll be together and Eddie misses you" she adds.
"Okay I will," I say not even completely listening to her, still thinking about Ian and his broken heart.
Hours later, after getting our nails done, a massage and body laser hair removal and facials. Basically a girl pampering day we got back to the hotel. My brother in law Collins was there already waiting for my sister they're going back to Norwich today. Ian was also there sitting in living room watching the football game with Collins.
"How was your day honey," he says kissing my sister. "And how was yours" he asks hugging me next.
"It was okay" I say with a forced smile pulling away from him.
"Honey let's get going promised Eddie I'll tuck him in tonight," Chrissy says.
"Bye guys, Oh and Coco invite Ian too," she says as they both leave.
"What was that about," Ian asks.
I sit down next to him on the couch. "Nothing, Chrissy wants us to go to Norwich for Christmas."
"Okay, don't think I can.” He says. “I might have work" he adds.
"C'mon Ian don't let me go alone, please." I say pouting.
"Okay I'll think about it" he says laughing.
"So what's up with Collins, you were acting all weird around him." Ian asks.
"What? No, I'm always weird."
"Yeah you are but you were weirder than usual. C'mon what's up."
"Well okay, he's an ass. Obviously," I say silently.
"Yeah he is,” Ian says. “But that's not it, there is obviously more to the story," he adds staring into my eyes which made my heart beat faster it was like he was staring into my soul.
"What did he do?" He asks again.
"I just don't trust him," I say.
"Why?" He asks.
I take a deep breath closing my eyes. "He came on to me." I say.
"What? When? Does Chrissy know?"
"No, I couldn't tell her. He was drunk the first time, the second time I'm not so sure."
"When was this," he asks.
"First promise me you won't say anything to Andy or Chrissy."
"Okay," he says frowning.
"I was about 17 or 18 the first time. They weren't married then. It was during Chrissy birthday party at our house. I wasn't allowed to drink then, so I Lauren and Hanna my friends stole my dad's bottle of whiskey and snuck to get drunk upstairs everyone was downstairs enjoying the party.
I was on my way to my room to meet Hanna and Lauren when he found me in the hall way. He grabbed my ass and tried to kiss me, I fought him off and ran to my room."
"He apologized the next morning saying he was drunk, so I didn't say anything."
"The next time he was already engaged to Chrissy we were all watching a movie together at home with my dad, Chrissy and I. Daddy and Chrissy fell asleep so I was alone with him. He put his hand on my lap and tried to put it in between my legs. We had all had a drink so I quickly pulled away and left. I always avoided him since then."
"Why didn't you tell anyone about it, Chrissy, Andrew or your dad." Ian asks fuming.
"I wanted to. I asked Chrissy once before they got married, if I knew something about Collins not being who he acts like he is would she like to know.
She said no, she said she believes in ignorance is bliss. She said she loves him and that if I know anything I should promise her I will never tell her. That's why I've never mentioned that to anyone else, I can't even believe I just told you that."
"Well she's a fool then, he's probably cheating on her. And everything he tried with you is sexual harassment. I can't believe you kept that all in. Tell Andrew atleast."
"Ian that's not the first time a man has tried something inappropriate with me, since I first got boobs when I was 14 I've been harassed by men. All I want is to try and get past it and not think about it." I say closing my eyes having sudden flash backs that I wish I had forgotten.
"Chloe that makes me sad that happened to you, it hurts knowing you've been through that kind of trauma. I think you should have atleast told someone." He says fuming with so much anger that I've never seen him with.
"No Ian, you promised you wouldn't tell anyone. Especially Andrew. And Collins hasn't tried anything since they got married that's 4 years ago. Maybe he has changed, I see the way he is with her and Eddie. I wouldn't want to ruin that for Chrissy or Eddie. I love them so much."
"Okay but promise me if he tries anything again you will tell me and you'll let me do something about it." He says holding my hand in his, entwining our fingers and staring deep into my eyes in a comforting yet sexy way. I had to pull all the effort I had in me not to bend down and kiss him.
"Okay, I promise." I say taking a deep breath.
